❝ She was a savage. Unafraid to fight for what she wanted and brave enough to go to a war for what she deserved ❞

Laughter and giggles jingled quietly and the delicious strong scent of coffee melted in the air, making me dizzy in the most beautiful way.

The café was filled with teenagers, families and old couples spending quality time together, having a laugh, cherishing all the memories. The atmosphere was really calming and aromatic.

"It's so pleasing in here" Kate gushed looking around, her eyes twinkling brightly, showing her glee.

"Tell me about it! I could stay here all day long" Sharon let out a sigh, dreamily.

I exchanged an amused look with Maria sipping my mocha, before she chuckled under her breath. I put my cup down inhaling it's addictive smell in, I could feel my soul sighing, satisfied.

"Did you call them?" Kate asked, turning towards me and resting her elbow on the table, she lifted an eyebrow.

"Not really" I muttered frowning as my eyes darted towards the table.

"I should've known" Kate rolled her eyes fishing out her phone from her pocket as Sharon giggled beside her.

"What does that supposed to mean?" I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest and gave her an offended look.

"Nothing, Violent wire" Looking up, she shot me a wide grin while typing on her phone. Rolling my eyes, I huffed looking around the aesthetic retro styled café.

"So, how long have you been dating Alex?" Maria inquired turning to Sharon, who was busy munching on her muffin.

I tilted my head towards them, paying attention to their boring conversation.

"7 months, 4 days." Sharon beamed at us, her whole face lit up, causing me to scrunch up my nose and look away at Kate talking to someone on the phone.

It was probably Theo, judging by her shy smiles and blushed cheeks. Just thinking about their talks makes me want to puke.

"What about you? Do you have someone special in your life?" I heard Sharon's voice asked.

"Of course! Food" Maria corrected her in matter-of-fact tone, putting her arms behind her head, relaxingly.

Rolling her eyes, Sharon spoke before taking another bite of her Honey muffin."Come on, you know I am not talking about that"

"Well yeah and It's a work in progress. Good girls are hard to find nowadays" Maria joked half heartedly, letting out a sigh.

"Ooh! Good luck with that and what about you, Winter?" Sharon turned towards me and looked at me with those big bright eyes, showing undeniable curiosity.

I opened my mouth to make some sarcastic remark, when Kate spoke up "They'll be here in five"

Thanking my lucky charms, I leaned against the comfortable chair and took another sip of my mocha, blocking the world out and getting lost into a delicious fantasy.

"We don't really have any plans for this weekend, do we?" Kate asked, glancing at us for confirmation.

Thankfully, it was true. We didn't have anything planned for the weekend and if you ask me, I was going to sleep all day and eat junk food, maybe even exercise a bit. It had been a while.

"We should have a girls night out" Sharon suggested smiling widely.

"Not a bad idea"

Horrified expression painted my face, I quickly snapped towards Maria, causing a sudden light pain to go through my neck, like electric shock.

Seems like my lucky charms are not lucky enough I thought, disappointed.

"Hello my favorite girls" Theo yelled, entering the café as soon as he spotted us. The older people present there threw disapproving glances at him, but he didn't notice or care.

The boys hollered joining us, cheering and loud talks engulfed us in a bear hug.

"Hey!" Finn greeted, taking a seat in front of me and plopped down.

"Where is Ethan?" The words slipped out of my mouth before I even realized, as I saw a certain dark haired guy missing.

Finn, giving me a dirty smirk, opened his mouth "He had somewhere to go, but don't worry, he'll be here soon"

I gave him a blank look, convincing him that I didn't care at all. I really didn't, those words were just a mistake.

Thankfully, no one noticed our little exchange as I turned my head away from the smirking devil and let out a scoff.

"So whatcha up to you all?"Nate asked, reaching towards the muffin in front of Sharon, but she slapped his hand away before he could take it.

"Nothing important" Maria snorted as Nate pouted looking at Sharon, who picked up the whole box of muffin out of his reach.

"At least let me taste" He whined, stretching his hand, to take the box. Maria and the guys sitting there watched the both cousin's quarrel, attentive.

"Buy your own" She retorted back, sticking out her tongue.

I am surrounded by kids. I let out a sigh, slumping my shoulders.

"Fuck you" Nate grumbled getting up from the seat, stubbornly.

"Now, what's the plan for the weekend?" Finn asked, clamping his hands together on the table just as Nate was out of hearing range.

"Nothing special, probably a girls night out" Kate shrugged.

"You guys are so boring" Alex commented wrapping an arm around Sharon's shoulder.

"Excuse me?" She shot him a glare sideway, causing him to chuckle.

"You are excused. Now come on guys tell me what's on your bucket list" Finn inquired rubbing his hands evilly, fearlessness filled his eyes.

"Sleep" I spoke up before anyone else could.

Nate returned to the table with lot's of blueberry cream cheese muffins and sweets and took his seat. No one seemed to be bothered by his unhealthy addiction.

"Oh come on Winter! you are not helping" Maria exasperated dramatically, rolling her eyes.

"I am not a very helpful person, you should know this by now" I muttered, giving her a blank face.

Theo chuckled and opened his mouth to say something, when a thick smooth voice came filling the air with it's melodious symphony "Sorry for being late, my sister just don't know when to stop"

Cladded in a hoodie and dark jeans, the owner of the voice strolled towards us lazily. Those appealing hazel eyes sparkled brightly as he gave me a sly smirk, when I noticed my eyes on him.

"It's fine! You didn't miss anything" Theo assured grinning.

"So what's your plan for the weekend?" Ethan asked, amused, pulling out a chair beside me and sat down. I scoot away a little when I feel our Knees brush.

"Not like that we have any, but I wa-" Nate began to say but got cut off in between

"Great then! So you guys are coming with me" Ethan said monotonously and reached to take a muffin from Nate, which he gladly granted and bit on it.

"I don't mind, but where?" This time it was Finn who spoke, confusion laced his tone.

"It's Emma's birthday and she told me to invite every one of you" He sighed, running a hand through his untamed smooth hair.

"Who's Emma?"

"Is she single?"

I chuckled amused under my breath at Nate and Finn's questions, but the same couldn't be said about Ethan.

"Emma is his sister" Theo explained

"and she is not single" Ethan muttered impassively.

"Woah.. I didn't know you had a sister" Maria mused with an impressed expression, while Ethan just shrugged. I think she missed the not in his sentence.

"So you're coming, right?" He asked, looking at everyone expectantly.

"Sure"

"Anything for some fun"

"Yeah.."

"I guess so"

"Hell yes!"

"I don't think so" A sudden silence filled the air killing the fun mercilessly and everyone's faces went void, just as the words left my mouth.

"Bitch you didn't!" Maria was the first one to recover as she glared at me.

"I mean, I'll think about it" I sighed, glancing at Ethan with uncertainty.

Rolling his eyes, he gave me a weary look and said "Just come. Emma especially told me to invite you" He made a distaste face, as if he couldn't believe it.

"So, you've met his sister?" Finn turned towards me, smirking. What was his problem?

"Once" I replied detached, giving him a firm look. Thankfully, he didn't get the chance to speak further as his phone started buzzing.

"So you in or no? Think before you speak, steps will be taken against you" Kate said, trying her best to look threatening, but she looked more like a bunny with pink chubby cheeks.

"We'll see"

"Okay so now everything's planned and yes Winter you are coming too. We have to go for practice" Finn announced getting up as I heard a deep groan from beside me.

"Don't blame me, if I kill your coach one day" Kate rolled her eyes, pecking Theo's cheek.

"I'll help you hide the body," He chuckled, giving him a boyish grin and got up.

Making a disgusted face, I looked away, when I heard Finn calling out "Coming manager?"

Sighing tiredly I got up, glancing at girls apologetically, who gave me a pout in return, clearing not liking my departure.

What is life

~~~
Quiet noise of the ball hitting the wooden floor floated in the air as doubts played in my head.
I craved solitude, but hated it when it would come and sit by my side. I liked silence, but hated how it provoked my mind, my thoughts. It was complicated and really confusing, just like my life.
I cursed under my breath as the ball missed the basket for the umpteenth time and fell on the floor defeated.
Slowly walking towards it, I bent down to pick it up, when I heard the smooth velvety voice teasing the air "May I come in?"
Picking the ball up, I turned around and met his striking eyes and gorgeous smile, that proudly stood out on his face.
"Why are you here?" I asked annoyed and turned to the basket, facing my back towards him.
"Something about you is so addictive, I can't stay away" My heart focused on the words, but I didn't miss the sarcasm that laced his tone.
"Nice joke. Now come to the point" I scoffed, stretching my arms out to set the target, hoping to throw the ball straight into the basket.
"So what did you decide? Are you coming with us?" He asked, I could feel his footsteps getting closer and closer.
"First of all, no. Second of all, no." I was about to throw the ball, but my breath hitched, when I felt his hot breath fanning my neck, his hard sculpted body caging me from behind.
Then, ever so slowly, gingerly he raised his hand and touched my arm "Loose a bit and bend your elbow a little" he instructed in a low voice as he bent my elbow slightly with a gentle touch. His fingers felt like feathers on my skin.
I tried to clear my head as I paid attention to what he was saying. His voice was like whiskey, smooth with a slow burn that lit up the room, dominating it.
"Now" Hearing his command, I quickly threw the ball aiming at the basket.
I covered my mouth as a loud gasp left me, my jaw hung open in disbelief, when the ball went into the basket in a shot.
"I did it!!" Stunned, I turned around but instantly regretted it, after seeing the lack of space between us.
Looking down, he chuckled at me as the sound tingled my face. Hesitant, I quickly stepped back. Foolish girl.
"Good for you. Now you are coming to the party" He said coolly and then gave me a smirk.
I narrowed my eyes at him and spoke "What made you think so?"
"Oh come on! it'll be fun, besides She's bugging me to meet you!" Frustrated, he ran a hand through his hair, cursing.
"Meet me? Who? You are confusing me now" I stated furrowing my eyebrows.
He gave me a sheepish smile, scratching his back of neck and said "Let's just say Emma has a pretty big mouth"
Blinking, I stood there confused, then let out an unsure "Okayyy"
"Just come with us, will you?" He asked me tiredly, his shoulders slumping.
Sighing I looked down, then looked at him through my eyelashes. He was standing there with his puppy dog expression, a determined flake in his eyes.
"Fine" I shut my eyes tightly and gave in defeatedly. Just this one time.
"Great!" He cheered, I opened my eyes and gave him a blank look
"You can leave now."
He rolled his eyes, turning around as I stood there blank. Tilting his head, he threw me a smirk as those sinful eyes shined at me "See you later"
His soft low voice echoed one last time as he walked out leaving me to play with silence, once again.
