《Her Hidden Self | ✓》15| Mysteries & Snow

❝There wasn't a predictable thing about her
and it was that chaos that made her interesting ❞
Mysterious was not something, I ever used to describe a girl as. Within a short amount of time of knowing them, It was easy to tell if the girl is boring, smart, cheerful, sassy or nerdy. But, never mysterious. Until that mystery itself came knocking on my door in the middle of the night.
Although I hated Winter with every fiber in my body, there was something about her that stood out.
Maybe it was the way she would walk in the room like a boss that she was, with a small barely there sinister smirk on her lips, daring everyone to mess with her and they would regret every moment of their life. Her mischievous blue eyes telling thousands of untold stories.
But what made her interesting the most was the emotions that she hid so safely inside or maybe it was just me... And her mood swings were what made her difficult to understand.
I didn't know her properly, but she was the most confusing and infuriating person I've ever met.
One moment she was fine and quite, then another she was the biggest and coldest bitch you'll ever meet.
I don't know why my mind insisted that I call her Snow that day, But it suited her. In some sick twisted way it suited her.
Snow.
"Stop calling me that" Her irritated voice rang, breaking me out of my thoughts. Blinking confused, I looked towards her and there she was... Sitting there with her eyes narrowed eyes at me.
"I'll think about it" I rolled my eyes at her as she gave me a stoned look and went back to devouring the peaceful weather with an annoyed expression.
"I want to go someplace far away from here, to enjoy my youth" Nate said dramatically as he carefully took out all the red skittles from the packet.
I looked at him horrified because of the amount of calories in his hands and said "There's still fuckload of time left before holidays Buddy"
"Unfortunately" Finn mumbled laying on the grass and shoved me to move away and give him some space.
It was a dark dreary day, we were sitting outside just chilling because we didn't have any classes or practice. Lucky us.
The two couples were huddled together, enjoying little time for themselves. Just chatting and having a laugh.
"So I was at my cousin uncle's funeral, when my phone rang" Alex continued the story as Sharon and the guys listened intently. Resting my elbow on my knees, I too waited for him to speak further
"much to my embarrassment my ring tone was 'Highway to hell'..." Alex added sheepishly.

The quiet bubble of silence got burst by our loud laughter, Alex's quiet cursing and Maria's silly comments.
"I swear that was like one of the most embarrassing moment of my fucking life, I still get haunted by those evil glares I got from my parents"
From the corner of my eyes I saw Winter just sitting there quietly with a frown. Just like always, her attention wasn't on the conversation at all. Which always made me wonder what was on her mind? She just looked distant, staring into nothing.
I was about to make some fun remarks. But before I could say anything, a lanky skinny boy with shaggy hair came jogging towards us.
"I was told to give it to Winter," He said in his deep accent, holding out a piece of paper like a note or something.
Everyone quieted down, eyeing that poor boy from head to toe. Winter turned towards him abruptly and said in icy voice "That's me"
Quickly giving Winter that note, that boy ran for his life, shaggy hair bouncing in the air. It must've been a fun sight to see, but my eyes were focused somewhere else.
Squinting my eyes I looked at her intensely, watching her skimming through words. As if like a magnetic pull, she felt my strong stare, when she looked up at me.
Guarded eyes reading me, she pushed the note towards me. I raised my eyebrow at her then nodded, when she motioned me to take it. I could feel everyone's eyes on us, burning in our souls as I unfolded the note.
Meet me at the parking lot, Bring Ethan with you too.
- Ericka
Unsure, I looked up at Winter and found her already looking at me. Our eyes collided like two different worlds colliding, with only one question on our mind.
What now?
After what felt like eternity, Theo spoke up ripping our gazes apart from each other brutally "What's that?"
"Nothing special," Winter muttered, snatching the note from my hand and crushed it mercilessly. Before anyone could say anything, she got up from the ground, dusting her shorts.
"Where are you going now?" Maria whined like a child.
Throwing an apologetic glance at everyone, she said "I'll be back in few"
Nate opened his mouth and judging by his expression, it was to protest but she cut him off "No arguments"
Nate shut up and crossed his arms on his chest, pouting. I rolled my eyes at his immature tactics.
Picking her bag, Winter looked at me and asked "Aren't you coming?"
I frowned at the thought of getting up as I was really comfortably settled on the grass "Do I have a choice?" I asked, sighing. She just shrugged in reply.

Grunting, I was about to get up, when Winter offered me her hand. I gave her an amused look clearly surprised, while she looked at me with a bored expression.
I knew she was about to pull away, but I quickly grabbed her hand and not thinking too much about her soft velvety skin against mine, I pushed myself up.
~~~
Silence followed us as we walked towards the parking lot side by side. Strange sense of tension hung in the air ringing sharply like an ear bleeding bell.
I cautiously glanced at her, she was silently walking forwards like nobody's business. Now that I think about that, she didn't talk much and liked to be quiet as much as possible. The reason was anonymous like always.
"I hope you remember our deal" I inquired jokingly trying to kill the silence that weighed us.
She looked at me then rolled her eyes "Then, I hope you know what you want" Though that statement may seem just a small harmless reply, but her tone was nowhere near harmless.
"Not really, I just wanted to remind you" I said waving my hand dismissively.
"Don't worry, I never forget anything," She said, shrugging. For a moment it felt as if her voice suddenly changed, it got a little heavy as if she was talking about something else, something completely different.
Furrowing my eyebrows I tilted my head and studied her, but her movements gave nothing away.
"Here!" A high pitched voice yelled just as we reached the parking lot. Ericka was waving at us motioning to walk fast. The area was surprisingly empty.
"What do you need?" Winter asked, with a sigh, walking towards her with lazy steps as I trailed behind.
Ericka pulled Winter in a big bear hug making her freeze in her spot, after recovering from her little moment she awkwardly patted Ericka's back.
I let out a quiet laugh at her hilarious expression, but it didn't go unnoticed by Winter as she threw me a cold hard glare, probably murdering me in her head. I shot a wide cheeky grin at her way just to annoy her a little more.
Rolling her eyes, she pulled away from the awkward embrace. Then, In an instant Ericka turned towards me and threw her arms around me causing me to step back. What the fuck?
Winter stood there flashing me a smirk as I put my arms around Ericka half-heartedly. Her extremely strong smell of perfume suffocating me.
Finally, she pulled away showing her pearly whites and said "Thank you so much Ethan for your help. I'll be forever grateful"
I just nodded fixing my shirt and stated "It's absolutely fine. No need to thank m-"
"Right! No need to thank him, just thank me!" Winter said in irritated tone, then quickly added "You should know, at first he refused to help"
Giving her an annoyed look I said "In the end, I did help, Didn't I?"
"Yeah right, That's all because of that stupid deal" She glaring at me through slit-eyed gaze.
"Doesn't matter, Everything's fine now and hacking is not a joke" I hissed at her, clenching my jaw. What was her problem?
"Yeah whatever, you could've done it without making me practically beg" She muttered crossing her arms over her chest and looked at me sternly.
"You did not begge-" I scoffed
"I alway knew you two would be awesome partners" Ericka chimed in between, like an annoying bright light peeking in, in a dark comfy room.
"What the hell?"
"Excuse the fuck me?"
We both exclaimed at the same time, then glared at each other, daring one another to look away first. I knew she was stubborn and hated to lose, so sighing I broke the eye contact. A small sacrifice doesn't hurt.
"Anyway I just want to thank both of you. I wouldn't be able to do anything without you guys" Ericka rejoiced putting her perfectly manicured hand on her heart.
"It was nothing," Winter replied tiredly.
"Anyway I have to go now, But do tell me if you guys ever need something" She said while me and Winter just hummed along.
Bidding her farewell, Ericka got into her car and drove away, leaving us there standing alone.
"What now?" I asked, turning towards Winter.
Frowning she looked at me, pushing a soft strand of her chestnut colored hair, Then muttered "Nothing. Am gonna go back to my dorm, tell everyone I said sorry"
Without waiting for my answer, she turned on her heels and started walking towards the dormitory. Confused, I stood there watching her walk away. Thinking about previous incidents and conversations, her drastic changes in mood.
In the end, it was pretty clear that she wasn't mysterious. She was a goddamn mystery ..... begging to be solved. A puzzle wanting it's pieces together, so that it could make sense to the world.
Turned out that I am not really great at writing a guy's POV.. oh well
Also, I am findin it hard to write nowadays, like I have a perfect plot and everything planned but I can't seem to find words to put it down... ugh never mind.
Though don't worry am working on it, I don't want to stop writing just cause of some small glitch, Until then.. Hope you like it! Don't forget to vote and comment what you think.
Bye, Take care my precious angels! Sometimes all it takes is a smile to make everything feel better :)
