❝She is fire and ice. You will fear the cold and crave the burn ❞

Had it not been for Ericka's endless pleas, I wouldn't have even thought about coming to his apartment at freaking midnight.

The air was slightly cold as I walked towards the building with that Mac in my sling bag, that bitch owed me!

Tucking my bottom lip in between my teeth, I entered the elevator. I gripped the straps of my bag tightly thinking about numerous ways to ask him. Sure he would help me, if I would ask him nicely.

But in the end, who was I kidding? I was nowhere near nice or at least around him.

The elevator door dinged open, showing my way towards his front door, waiting for my next move. Nodding to myself, I walked out of the elevator.

Moon peeked at me from far above the dark sky, Smiling at me. Silence floated in the air, but I couldn't say the same about my mind.

With every measuring step I took, The thoughts in my head increased. What if he was asleep? or more importantly, what if he was.... busy?

Stop over thinking! I scolded myself and let out a tired breath as I raised my hand to ring the doorbell. I waited for a while but when I didn't got any reply, I rang the doorbell again. Annoyed, I stood there with a sour expression.

Suddenly someone opened the door from the other side and then, enthralling hazel eyes shimmered at me, speaking the language of the universe.

"I need you" I let out in a serious voice.

I wouldn't have even recognized my mistake, if it wasn't for that dirty smirk he threw at me. Arrogance oozing from every inch of his body.

"Not like that you dipshit! I need you to do something. I need your help" I said to him coldly.

He rolled his eyes resting himself against the door frame comfortably. His dark silky locks were wet as he was wearing nothing but grey sweatpants.

"I refuse," He said, annoyingly straightforward.

"What?" I screeched.

"As I said before, I refuse" He repeated confidently. I gritted my teeth when I saw a faint smirk on his lips. Much to my annoyance, he was enjoying it.

"Listen here! If it's up to me, I'd rather choose to die than ask you for help, but it's for someone else and it's really important" My voice sounded nowhere near nice or polite.

He raised an eyebrow at me then spoke "Hmm.. Interesting. But, what will I get in return?" Doubt laced his tone.

"In return?" I asked him, confused.

"Yeah you kno-" He began to say, but I cut him off in between.

"Fine! You can have well anything you want, a favour or whatever. But, only one." I said in an annoyed tone.

"You'll give me anything I want?" He asked, there was an evil glint in those eyes, which told me to take it back while there's still time.

I sighed and waving my hand off dismissively, I said "I know that I am going to regret it later, but sure... I'll give you anything you want. Deal?"

He straightened his posture, smirking then spoke "Deal. It was a pleasure doing business with you"

"Yeah yeah whatever. Just help me"

"Of course! Come on in Snow" He said stepping aside from the door.

"It's Winter" I said, glaring at his large frame and stepping inside. The place was really neat and clean. The walls were decorated with few pictures and some paintings.

I stepped forward breathing the scene in, In center there was a big couch and a coffee table with few magazines on it. The wall in front was covered with a big LED and the air somewhat smelt like lavenders.

~~~
"You want me to hack into what?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.
I was sitting comfortably on his bed, while he sat there in a chair beside. We were in his bedroom just discussing stuff.
"Don't make me repeat myself, it's bad for my health" I said glaring at him. It was a nice excuse.
"No, I mean really why do you want me to do it?" He asked, placing his elbow on his knee, then rested his face on his palm and looked at me with those mysterious eyes.
I bit my lip, mentally debating if I should tell him or not. Tilting my head, I saw him looking at me with a dazed expression.
"Ethan you okay?" I asked him, frowning.
He jerked up slightly as if I had shot him "Yeah! Just waiting for your answer" He said quickly as I let out a sigh.
In the end, I told him everything. I know it wasn't my place or my matter, but surely Ericka would forgive me for this. Besides he wouldn't have done anything before knowing.
At first he looked genuinely curious, then his expression turned into shock, then just plain pissed.
"What a tool" He gritted out.
"Tell me about it, now get to your work Keyes" I said to him rolling my eyes, for some reason I was feeling extremely, extremely tired.
"Sure Hughes" He spoke emphasizing my last name, then opened his study drawer.
I watched him stunned as he wore thick black glasses, covering his eyes with that transparent lense and started working on that device mercilessly, focused he typed god-knows-what.
Those glasses looked really good on him, resting on his face, giving him an adorable nerdy look.
He seemed so engrossed that I wondered, If he knew that I was still there. Tired, I rested my head against the headboard. I don't know why, but it felt as if it was going to be a long night.
I closed my eyes feeling the heaviness in them and let the darkness take me to an unknown yet a familiar place.
~~~

Silence. Eerie silence. Heart breaking silence. Silence full of noises. Silence full of words.

I walked down an unfamiliar path. I didn't know where I was going, I didn't know what was waiting for me. Darkness engulfed me like thick cold smog, I couldn't see anything, but I still kept walking.

That path seemed endless as I walked further and further with silence and Darkness having a war on my shoulders.

"Run!" Someone whispered harshly.

Frightened, I turned around just to find darkness ready to haunt me. Cold sweat trickled my forehead as I quickly turned around and started walking a little faster with quick steps.

"Run!" The uncanny voice whispered, cursing me.

Breathing heavily I walked forward hoping to see anything, but again darkness welcomed me and mocked me.

"Is anyone here" I yelled in panic.

"They are coming for you" The cold sinister voice whispered calmly as If it was enjoying scaring me, seeing me so scared and shattered.

Without thinking twice I started running "They are coming for you" Again I heard that whisper.

"They were hurting so much because of you, You deserve to die" The whisper hissed. Tears filled my eyes as my breath hitched.

Lost. I stood there as darkness clashed in there destroying everything and me with nothing in between.

"I hate you so much!" I heard her voice shout "Why can't you just leave?"

Anxious, I looked around in the dark to find a way. Suddenly, a small light glistened from the far end. without thinking twice, I rushed towards it.

But before I could reach it, it disappeared in thin air. Letting the darkness take over once again.

"Everything is your fault! You are a monster" Her loud voice echoed in the silence and engraved those words on my heart.

I am sorry! I am sorry! I am sorry! I chanted in my head, but no words came out of my mouth as I stood there helpless and let those voices break me, thinking that I deserved that.

~~~
"Stop!" I woke up breathing heavily, Small droplets of sweat covered my forehead. Quickly wiping it I got up from the bed looking around, it wasn't my dorm.
"You okay?" Ethan's thick voice rang causing me to jump, surprised.
I turned around and saw him sitting on the chair from before, looking at me intensely, Analyzing me and my every move.
"Fine" I replied curtly. The word I had worshiped like a devotee. Fine. Fine. Fine. Always fucking Fine!
He looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze, making me feel uncomfortable, then spoke "Are you sure? Yo-"
"I said, I am fine" I snapped, glaring at him. I don't know why I felt sudden rage towards him, but I did. It was a forbidden territory.
A dark look flashed on his face "I was just worried, but seems like you don't deserve my concern" He scowled at me.
My heart skipped a beat, because those words sounded familiar, terrifyingly familiar "I didn't ask you for it" I barked at him coldly.
"Whatever. Just take this and get the hell out of here" He seethed, gritting his teeth and harshly thre the Mac towards me.
Thankfully, It landed on bed as I quickly grabbed it and said "Gladly" in a frosty voice.
Without paying a single glance at his direction, I took my bag and stormed out of the room.
I heard his loud curses as I opened the front door and walked out in the cold late night air. Shutting the door behind me, I moved towards the elevator.
Anger, annoyance, frustration and a strange terrified feeling coursed through my veins. My palms started to get a little sweaty as the pictures of my nightmare came flashing in.
I shook my head as the elevator door opened and stepped inside. Turning around I saw the same path, I had just walked earlier, But not again. I wasn't coming here ever again.
Eh well he tried... lol
