Like a storm in disguise,

You stood out there.

Amidst the vibes of fear,

I let you all the way in and here.

We made a promise,

To stay through the ups and downs.

When I doubted those promises were delusional,

You made me believe you'll always stick around.

The storm broke out,

At first it was silent and calm.

Not making noise but trembling the ground,

Bit by bit I was being harmed.

You slipped away with ease,

I wondered if I was to blame.

For caring much more than I should have,

For ever thinking you could remain the same.

You walked away leaving a void in me,

A void which still hasn't been filled.

There are words left unspoken,

But through the toxic pain, the words inside were killed.

I've learnt to build a wall so high,

I feel nothing but emptiness.

The love I'm supposed to receive,

Doesn't reach me now cause I'm a mess.

A smiling wrecked girl with pain,

With broken dreams I still want to chase.

With a hope that those walls I will break,

To prove to myself there is nothing I cannot take.
