《Blood to Love | 3rd year》47- Exam Week

I awoke on Draco's chest with a blanket and pillow over me. I cracked my knuckles and neck while checking the time.
"Draco, get up! We have exams today!" I screeched.
He jumped up and I rushed to my dorm, running into Blaise, who was also scurrying to get to his dorm and change, also late to the exams.
I ignored him and continued on my path until I speedily got ready and ran to the transfiguration classroom for the first scheduled exam of the day.
"Nice of you two to join us," McGonagall said while referring to Draco and I who just rushed in at the same time.
"Sorry professor," I mumbled while taking a seat.
"I will take each of you out into the hall and we will be doing the exam. I would also like to say that we have practiced this before and I hope that you payed attention in my classroom."
We all sat anxiously and tiredly while McGonagall called out names to go into the hallway.
"Draco Malfoy," she called out to which he got up and left the room.
It took each student a few minutes and finally it was my turn.
"Y/n l/n."
I anxiously walked out and McGonagall told me to transfigure the teapot into a tortoise like we have practiced before during class.
I waved my wand and spoke the incantation confidently and the teacup successfully turned into a tortoise. I smiled at my work and McGonagall wrote down a grade while sending me off.
The next exam scheduled for the day was charms. However, it was not until after lunch so we had a little longer to prepare.
I went back to the Slytherin common room where Draco was sitting along with Blaise and Pansy.
"How'd you guys do?" I asked.
"I did alright," Draco said.
"Awful," Pansy mumbled.
"Good," Blaise replied.
I nodded and we sat reviewing the different charms that we have practiced throughout the year.
"Time for lunch," I realized after studying for quite some time.
We all rushed to the great hall and quizzed each other while chowing down our food.
Once lunch ended in a blur, we dreadfully walked to the charms classroom which had an extremely long line of students.
Professor Flitwick exited the classroom and squeaked up to the students.
"Get in a line and come in one by one. When the next student exits then you are required to walk in."
The students nodded and whispered amongst each other, most likely asking what we would be doing in the classroom for the test.
Every time a student exited the classroom with their nervous face, another one entered.
I reviewed all the information that I've been studying for the past months and the person in front of me walked in.
My stomach churned and I became nervous about forgetting the information. I quickly shook the thoughts from my mind and walked in the door, as the last person exited minutes later, although it felt like a few short seconds.
Professor Flitwick was cheerfully standing on his usual stack of books and I stood awkwardly in front of him.
"Perform the cheering charm," he instructed.
I did my best as he continued throwing spells at me to execute in his presence. He stopped requesting spells to perform and we stood in silence as his quill scraped against his paper.
"Very well," he finalized while scribbling down my official grade and sending me away.
I walked back to the common room and waited for the rest of my friends to finish their tests while going over the things I did correctly and incorrectly.

"How was it?" Draco asked while sighing heavily and sitting down close to me.
"It was alright," I said while laying my head on his shoulder.
I felt his arms wrap around me and I fell into a peaceful nap with Draco keeping me warm.
The air felt odd, as if someone was staring at me.
I opened my eyes and groaned while Draco unwrapped his hands from around me once he noticed.
Blaise and Pansy were towering over us, whispering quickly to one another, then stopping as they saw us awake.
"Nice one mate," Blaise whispered to Draco as we stood up from the common room couch.
"What is going on with the two of you?" Pansy asked mystifyingly.
"Nothing is going on," I assured.
"Lies."
I let out an inaudible laugh while walking to dinner for a famous Hogwarts feast.
Once we arrived in the great hall I told my friends that I was sitting with the Gryffindors. They waved goodbye and I sat in between Harry and Ron.
"How was your exams?" I questioned.
"Brilliant," Harry sarcastically muttered.
"They were honestly easier than expected! I studied every word of every book and only a small portion of the book was even in each of the exams. I think the boys are overreacting," Hermione bragged.
"Overreacting? Those were extremely difficult!" Ron bellowed.
Fred and George were not at dinner, probably still taking their OWLs and Ginny was also missing.
We ate dinner and discussed the intelligence level of Hermione and the difficulty level of the tests.
Once dinner ended, I walked to my dorm and fell asleep quickly after the exhausting day of using my brain.
My sister came into view but I fought her out of my vision, which surprisingly worked.
"Up! Up! If you want to make it to breakfast then I suggest you hurry and get ready!" Pansy said as I awoke in the morning, bewildered by the amount of sleep I received.
"I'm up!"
Pansy jerked my covers off of me and I got ready rapidly as she stood and annoyingly watched.
"Why don't you just go down?" I questioned while belligerently brushing my teeth.
"I was hoping that you would tell me why you and Malfoy think it's okay to cuddle on the couch!"
"We weren't cuddling," I said while spitting into the sink and washing my mouth out.
I hopped into my robes and she continued talking in code as we walked through the halls so nobody could hear our conversation.
"I just think that if you wanted a dog that bad you should just take the dog," she said.
"I don't know if I want a dog though. The dog was just there and I took an opportunity to — sit with it."
"You are messing with the dogs feelings."
"I'm not messing with the dogs feelings, I might have future plans for that dog."
"Do you plan on proposing to the dog?" Pansy asked while getting odd glances from the students who were eavesdropping on our odd conversation.
"No, I'm not proposing to a dog! But maybe I could possibly see the dog in my future."
"I hope so," she whispered. "You and the dog would be so cute together."
I scoffed and we quickly walked down the the great hall and ate a delicious breakfast.
"Care of magical creatures time!" Blaise sang as the students exited to great hall with us following after.
"Great," we all muttered as we headed outdoors into the humid morning air.

"Gather round students!" Hagrid shouted.
We all gathered around as Hagrid handed each one of us a flobberworm that we have been working with during the previous lessons.
"Keep it alive for an hour and yer pass yer test!" Hagrid briefly instructed.
I knew that flobberworms would continue eating and eventually die if overfed, so I restricted it from moving around and digesting everything in its path.
The creature was extremely boring to watch and time passed slowly.
I looked at a few other students and noticed that most of them were zoning out and staring off into space. Their responsibility as a flobberworm parent is to take care of the creature, which they clearly weren't capable of.
I looked back at my flobberworm and he was chilling on a rock and overlooking the grass.
An hour eventually passed while Hagrid sobbed in the corner, most likely thinking of Buckbeak's execution coming up.
"That's enough kids! Hand me yer worms and we'll see if yer kept em alive!" Hagrid said.
We all walked up to him and handed him our assortment of alive and non-living flobberworms.
He wrote us each a grade down as he shoved them in a bucket and we ran back indoors to use the brief window to study for our upcoming potions exam.
Time, once again, flied by quickly and suddenly it was time to brew a confusing concoction with Snape mumbling insults under his breath about our technique.
After throwing in ingredients, stirring, and emptying our potions into phials, Snape came around and scribbled grades.
"Very well, very well, indeed," he muttered as he passed by my potion and neatly wrote a grade down.
I smiled and left the classroom after clearing out my cauldron.
The rest of the day was free, until more exams the next day...
The time zipped by again as we studied for the history of magic exam, which I feared I would fail. Dinner was another time for brain-cramming and learning the entire year by myself, as I never payed attention in the class.
The next day arrived, as expected but unwanted, and I'm absolutely sure that I failed the history of magic test. It was as if all of my studying went to waste due to the guessing on every question.
Thursday also arrived after more studying through the day. It seemed as if with all of the exams occurring, there was a busy sensation and we were all rushed through the week.
The last day of exams, the last day of stress, and the beginning of the plan to get with Draco.
First off, the defense against the dark arts exam went average. Lunch occurred right after which — you could've guessed by now what happened: more studying.
Directly after lunch we had the divination exam. We were instructed to gaze into a crystal ball and recite what we saw.
Many students admitted to making things up, including me.
"What do you see in the orb dear girl?" Trewlany individually questioned me during the exam.
"I see a dog and a rat running through the grass," I lied.
She clapped her hands together cheerfully and wrote down a grade — let's hope it was a good one.
Muggle studies was my final exam and that occurred right after dinner.
However, during dinner, Draco was studying for his herbology exam.
"Is elf grass a plant?" Draco questioned.
"No," I replied easily.
"How do you know?" Blaise asked.
"I read once in a Hogwarts book that it's common for people to mistake elf grass, which is not a plant, with gillyweed."
"What's gillyweed?" Draco asked curiously.
"Something that helps you breathe underwater."
"Maybe you don't need to take herbology, it seems as if you know it all already," Pansy observed.
"I just read a lot in first and second year about plants," I said. "it was just a phase."
Blaise nodded like he knew what I was talking about.
"Blaise, stop right there! You went through a bird phase. Don't even act like you couldn't recite every bird you ever saw in the sky. It was so bloody creepy but I found it hilarious at the time."
"What was your weird phase?" Blaise asked Pansy.
"I was very obsessed with lipstick in first year and I always thought it looked amazing on me but I realize now that I was a bloody idiot."
"I saw you in the halls with lipstick! I was so jealous of you, Pansy!" I yelled while bursting into laughter.
She laughed along with me and Blaise turned to Draco.
"You've got to confess your weird phase now, mate."
"I didn't have a phase," he muttered while shoving his nose back into his herbology textbook.
"Don't lie," I replied while grinning. "We all had phases."
"I'm in a terrible Justin Bieber phase," he said sarcastically and robotically.
I sighed. "Stop being so boring, Malfoy."
"Fine. Slick back hair."
I giggled at him and he shot me the worlds more intimidating glare.
I stifled my laughter and covered my mouth to prevent myself from screaming out of complete and utter laughter.
"No hiding it now, we all saw it," Blaise consoled to which earned a scoff from Draco.
Dinner ended shortly after and I walked to Muggle studies, feeling very confident due to me living in the Muggle world for quite some time with my parents after my sisters death.
"No talking or you will revive an automatic zero," Professor Charity Burbage emphasized. "You may began once you receive your parchment."
She went around the classroom and handed each student a piece of paper and we all retrieved our quills.
1. Which of the following is used to heat up food in the Muggle world?
A. Washer
B. Refrigerator
C. Microwave
D. Car
I immediately circled option C and moved on to the next question.
2. Which of the following liquids make a car move?
A. Gasoline
B. Water
C. Vegetable oil
D. Bleach
I circled A.
This continued on for quite awhile. I knew most of the answers and felt extremely confident until getting to the last question.
30. Which is not a term used in the Muggle world used to call money?
A. Coins
B. Bread
C. Andrew Jackson
D. Calculator
I wracked my brain for the right answer but couldn't think of it so I took a random guess.
I turned in my paper and exited the room without further ado.
I sat in my dorm with Blaise and Pansy who also finished their exam early.
"No more studying!" I cheered while relaxing on my bed.
They clapped lightly and went back to snogging.
"Get a room," I sighed.
"We have a room."
I rolled my eyes at them and Draco walked in shortly after with my box of clothes in his arms.
"You forgot to take this," he said while placing it in front of my closet.
"Thanks."
He nodded and sat next to me on my bed.
"We should go, right?" I whispered.
"I was thinking the same thing."
We jumped up and scurried out of the room and into the common room where a crowd of students were celebrating the end of exams.
"I have an amazing surprise for your birthday but it's so far away!"
"It's only like three days away," he said while grinning.
"You're growing up so fast," I said while ruffling his hair and wiping fake tears off of my face.
"Don't go turning into my mother."
"I won't," I said and then lowered my voice for the next line. "Although falling in love with a Malfoy is in my plan."
He furrowed his brow and asked what I said but I ignored him and snatched a book from someone's stack on the table in front of us.
It was titled It Ends with Us and had a beautiful cover on it.
"Must be a Muggle book," I mumbled while opening to the last line.
"What are you doing?"
"Going through books and reading the last line is very important."
"What if it spoils it?" He asked while swatting my hand to stop me from flipping to the last page.
"So what? It's fun."
He sighed and I opened to the last page.
"'It ends with us.'"
I laughed and Draco shook his head at me.
"No spoilers," I whispered.
"It was just the title," he groaned.
"That's what makes it better."
He stared into my eyes as if he was scared he was going to go blind the next day and it was the last time he was ever going to see me.
"I know I'm pretty but you don't have to stare all the time," I said quietly.
"It's been awhile since I've asked but I really want to know if —"
"Don't ask if I'm ready, please. Just trust the process."
A mischievous smirk formed on my face and he gazed at me curiously.
"Want to go prank some first years?" I suddenly asked.
"I'd love nothing more, but they're all in exams."
I moaned and laid my head on his lap defeatedly.
"Stupid first years."
"You were once a first year."
"Stop defending them, Malfoy."
He smiled down at me and acted as though he was about to tickle me.
I squealed before he even touched me and he broke into a fit of laughter.
"You're very dramatic."
"Am I?" I questioned flirtatiously while pinching him arm.
"Ouch."
"What? Did I hurt you?"
He raised his eyebrows at me and tension filled the room.
"Race to your dorm," I whispered while hopping off of him and sprinting up the stairs.
He caught up behind me and grabbed my waist while pulling me into a twirling hug in the air.
I lightly kicked my feet and he placed me behind him while sprinting ahead of me unexpectedly.
"Malfoy, you cheater!" I yelled down the hall.
He stopped in front of the door and I confidently walked through right in front of him.
"I win," I bragged.
"If you drop everything and get with me then you win in life, not just this silly little game."
"I'm going to punch you."
"Punch me right now and see what happens."
I shook my head and laid down in his bed. He followed suit and laid down right next to me. We both stared at the ceiling as more tension filled the air and overbearing thoughts ran through our minds.
"Do you hear that?" Draco said, breaking the serene silence.
"No," I whispered after a couple seconds of listening to the ringing air. "Is this one of those weird moments when you say something like 'exactly' and it makes no sense?"
"No, I heard a bird."
"I didn't."
"It's because you stopped talking."
"Did you just call me a bird?"
"Maybe."
"What does that even mean? Are you referring to the bird-brain reference and calling me stupid because of the size of my brain?"
"No I was thinking more of you soaring through sky with your flock and you're a beautiful creature that Blaise once admired."
"His bird phase, right?"
"No he liked you in first year," Draco calmly said.
I gasped and was left speechless at that moment.
"He told me earlier this year, I just thought it was funny."
"Malfoy, you are supposed to keep the secrets that your friends willingly hand to you!" I scolded.
"This is benefitting you, love."
"It actually didn't benefit me in away way at all."
"I'm changing," he informed me while throwing his tie and robe in the ground and pulling out his hundredth pair of plaid pants that he owns.
I threw off my outer layer as well along with my tie and even my shoes and got comfortable in his bed.
"Do you realize that we normalized sleeping in each other's beds because we did it one time and now we do it all the time and it's supposed to be a friend kind of thing but in reality we both know that you fancy me and it should be awkward but it's honestly not," I rambled to him as he dressed in the bathroom.
"I wouldn't change a thing," he called out while coming back into his dorm with his usual night clothes on.
"Night," I whispered.
"Move," he said to which I scooted over. "Good girl. Now goodnight."
My mouth was agape and I was shocked at his words. I closed my eyes and drifted asleep with a hand hesitantly holding mine.
I squeezed Draco's hand; we comfortably fell asleep.
The comfort didn't last very long, however, this time it wasn't my discomfort.
I awoke to Draco jerking in his sleep and sweat beating down his face. He began mumbling inexplicit words in his sleep and looking as though he wanted to scream.
I shook him lightly until he hazily opened his eyes and looked around the room.
