《Blood to Love | 3rd year》44- Almost Ready

I awoke on Saturday to Draco rushing around my room.

"What are you doing, Malfoy?"

"Shut up."

"Okay then."

"Sorry, late to the Quidditch game."

"There's a game? What time is it?"

"One in the afternoon!"

"How'd we sleep so long?" I rhetorically asked in shock.

I then jumped up and got ready. I dressed in all green and decided to curl my hair. Draco was already out of my dorm by the time I was finished so I hurried out.

I sprinted down the dormitory stairs, bumping into a few students, apologizing, running through the hallways, and then I finally made my way out the doors and onto the pitch. I wasn't sure if Pansy was going to be here but I assumed so, as her boyfriend was commentating for some odd reason.

I looked around and saw Hufflepuff attire flooding the stands. I ignored the bright yellow colors radiating throughout the bleachers and went to the side in which was crowded with Slytherin students dressed in a forest green color.

I sat down and Pansy joined me shortly after.

"Where have you been?" I asked.

"Blaise and I woke up late."

"Same," I said while chuckling.

She nodded and we looked out on the field where the teams were huddled up together.

Draco scoped the stands and smirked at me. He then gestured for me to meet him by the stairs. I was confused but hopped up anyways.

"Be right back," I called out to Pansy as I ran down the stairs. Meanwhile, Draco was sneaking away from the his teammates and climbing the stairs to meet me.

"Handshake time," he whispered.

"In front of everyone?"

"Yes."

I sighed and we did our handshake while earning hoots and immense claps from the students surrounded us. It was practically perfect, as we spent hours practicing last night.

I kissed him on the cheek and he ran back into the field along with his teammates. I went back to my seat as well with glares from those dressed in Hufflepuff attire, who could've been Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, but also smiles from a few others.

I sat next to Pansy and she gave me a knowing look. The type of look that your mum give you when they know about one of your secrets.

"When did that happen?"

"There's nothing going on between us. I've already told you and him countless times. We simply hang out and that's that. I'm not completely over George yet."

As I said that Pansy cringed and directed her eyes in the direction behind us.

I glanced behind me and saw the trio and Ginny sitting together, all dressed in Hufflepuff attire; blending into the crowd.

"Oh hey guys," I said awkwardly.

"We already knew," Ginny understandingly said. "You can't get over someone that fast.

I nodded and Ron shot me a uncertain glance; Harry a curious look; and Hermione had a silly expression. Ginny seemed to be the most mature one out of the four sitting together.

I nervously laughed at them and turned my head back to the game that had just began.

Draco was sitting on his broom overlooking the ground below him and searching the field for the small golden snitch.

Cedric Diggory was the other seeker for Hufflepuff. I hadn't had an actual conversation with him but I'd see him randomly in the hallways and he seemed like a nice guy.

Adrian Pucey flew through the air, sending a wink as he passed me. I cringed and turned my gaze to Marcus flint. He had the Quaffle in his hand and was heading straight for the Hufflepuff hoops. He took a shot from an average distance and it went in.

Pansy and I jumped up and cheered.

"Flint with a goal," Blaise attempted to say cheerfully in the box where he was commentating.

"Woo!"

"Go Flint!"

We continued to stand up, as did Hufflepuff supporters. The tension was rising and many were on the edge of their seats, as well as the railing.

The Slytherin team was suddenly ahead by 40 and Hufflepuff supporters were cheering for Cedric to pull out a win with the snitch.

Time was passing quickly and it seemed like hours on end went by with the Quaffle being tossed from one teammate to another with hardly any shots taking place.

"Barbie off to get the snitch!" Blaise stated after an extremely long silence.

I could imagine a grin spreading across his face but I refrained from turning to the commentating box so I could focus on the game.

I saw Draco swoop down to the ground after the snitch. Cedric was following right after him. The cheering died down completely and even the team was glancing in their direction in anticipation.

Cedric caught up to Draco and lightly pushed him. Draco glared at him and nudged him back while soaring closer and closer to the ground. Cedric was millimeters behind. Draco extended his hand to grip the snitch. He clasped it and held it up triumphantly.

"YES!" I shouted. "GO MALFOY!"

Those dressed in Hufflepuff attire became extremely gloomy.

Pansy rushed to the commentating box while I ran off to the field.

Draco was being tackled in hugs and back-pats. I waited until the team was done congratulating him and rushed into his arms.

"The handshake was good luck," he said while smirking.

I pulled away from the hug and glanced around.

"Long time no see," Adrian Pucey called out from behind me.

"Seeing as you kissed me without my permission, I'd say that's a good thing."

"Looks like you moved on pretty quick."

"Do you have a problem with that?"

"Not at all. You lost a good one."

"If you're referring to George, sure I did lose a good one."

"Love, you'll regret this."

"Pucey, leave," Draco demanded.

"Little Malfoy coming to save the day? How pathetic."

"It'll be pathetic once 'little Malfoy' drubs you," I defended.

Adrian cocked his head sideways at my response as if he was confused.

"Looks like you're squirrel brain doesn't know what that word means. Let's go," I finalized while grabbing Draco's wrist and pulling him away.

Draco smirked at me.

"I've got to go to the changing rooms, but I'll see you later?"

"Yeah, and congrats, you deserved it!" I called out as we walked separate ways.

I turned around and made my way off the grassy field. I bumped into someone within the crowd and looked up.

George Weasley was towering above me.

"Sorry," I yelled over the crowd while striving towards the school quickly.

"Wait up!" he shouted as I dodged students and put distance between us.

"I can't stop in a crowd!" I said while sending a half-apologetic smile.

"Meet me on the grounds!"

I sighed drastically and made my way to the Hogwarts grounds as my stomach ached and head spun.

I sat on a bench, waiting impatiently for George to arrive, as instructed.

After a few minutes, I grew extremely uncomfortable and panicky.

Why does he want to talk to me?

As I was overthinking, George arrived and waved at me.

I awkwardly waved back and he sat down next to me. I began to scoot over to make some distance between us.

"What do you need?" I asked.

"You and Malfoy?"

"Merlins Beard. That is personal information."

"You didn't deny it."

"George, Malfoy and I are not together. How many times do I have to tell people?"

"You certainly don't have to tell me twice." He grinned while skipping away to Fred who was observing from a distance.

I furrowed my brows and took a second to process what he had just said.

I don't have to tell him twice? Does this mean he thinks there is a chance between us because I'm not with Draco yet?

I shook the thoughts from my brain and made my way back into the Slytherin common room. The room was jam-packed with students. Some of which were sneaking kegs in the back while others were blasting Muggle music on a radio and setting up a karaoke machine.

I realized they were celebrating so I ran up to my dorm to change.

I bursted into the dorm and Pansy was dressed in a green dress while Blaise was in a green suit. They were making out on Pansy's bed.

They broke apart and I ignored them while grabbing a green dress from my closet and walking into the bathroom, not allowing their shenanigans to get to me.

I got dressed and touched up my hair slightly, spattered on some makeup, and walked out.

Blaise and Pansy broke apart once more, as they found each other's lips when I became out of view.

"Coming down?" I asked the couple.

"Be there in a couple minutes," Blaise said.

I scoffed and made my way towards the door. "We both know it's now or you won't be able to get of each other's faces."

They sighed, jumped up, and followed me out the dorm.

Draco must've stopped by his room because he was dressed in a black suit and pouring himself a drink from the keg that Adrian Pucey snuck in.

"Want some?" Draco offered as he chugged his cup and immediately refilled it.

"Sure."

He grabbed me a cup and poured the liquid out. It lightly fizzed and he handed it to me. I took a sip and felt the firewhiskey burn my throat.

I took a hard swallow and he chuckled at me. I had a feeling it wouldn't go well, especially on an empty stomach. However, I downed the cup and filled it up once more.

My stomach churned and turned around to puke on some students shoes.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

The guy, whose shoes were now ruined, groaned dramatically. On the contrary, his friend yelled "Bullseye!" and patted me on the back.

I turned back to face my friends again.

"Want some Blaise and Pansy?" I asked while ridding my mind of the stinging sensation in my throat and washing my mouth out with a cup of water.

They nodded and Draco filled them a cup. Pansy downed the drink and Blaise took a sip and reacted the same way I did at first.

Pansy then led us to the couch and we all sat around and talked.

I felt a tap as I was in the middle of a sentence and turned around.

Crabbe and Goyle were nervously standing behind me and whispering amongst each other.

"What's up?" I called out over the loud music.

"We wanted to know if you'd do karaoke with us?" they shyly asked.

I bursted into laughter and they gave me pleading looks. Blaise and Pansy chuckled in their cuddling position and Draco gave me a second hand embarrassed look for Crabbe and Goyle.

"Promise me you'll never use a love potion on Daphne again?"

"Promise!" they shouted while becoming extremely giddy.

"Alright, take me away!"

I hopped off the couch and got she-is-really-going-to-do-that looks from my three friends.

The two wannabe singers whispered "nice going" to one another and I followed them to the karaoke machine in the corner of the room, grinning all the way.

"What do you boys want to sing?" I questioned as I got handed another drink.

"I want it that way!" Goyle shouted.

"Good taste," I said while taking a sip the firewhisky and setting the cup to a table next to me, preparing to sing awfully.

The music began playing and Marcus Flint handed me a microphone along with Crabbe and Goyle.

Goyle started us off...

"You are... my fire. The one... desire."

Crabbe began...

"Believe, when I say..."

I joined in...

"I want it that way."

We all sang the rest as one...

"But we, are two worlds apart.

Can't reach to your heart.

When you say: I want it that way.

Tell me why!

Ain't nothin' but a heartache!

Tell me why!

Ain't nothin' but a mistake!

Tell me why.

I never want to hear you say: I want it that way!"

We sung the rest of the song while belting the chorus as it came. Pansy hyped me up, Blaise stared around the room looking confused, and Draco smirked mischievously at me.

Once the song came to an end, I patted the two boys on the back and sat next to Draco who was across from Pansy and Blaise.

"Now you have to do one with me," I whispered to Draco while slickly taking his cup of firewhisky, losing count of the amount of drinks I've consumed.

"I don't sing."

"You will later once you've had a few more drinks."

"I'm done."

"Done? Are you scared to spill your secrets to me?"

"No but someone is going to have to take care of you later."

"Take care of me? I promise that —"

"Promise what?" he asked after I took a long pause.

"Promise something," I mumbled while getting distracted by the next song being played.

"What have you ate today?"

"Grass!" I shouted and bursted into laughter while Draco rolled his eyes at me.

I glanced over at Pansy who was smiling widely at me.

"That was fantastic; you should be a singer!"

"Pansy, it was all a joke. I can't sing for the death of me."

"You mean life?" she asked while turning around and shouting random words at people as they passed by her.

"Goose!" she yelled at Daphne Greengrass.

I laughed at her and felt a hand grab my wrist. I looked up and saw Astoria Greengrass hauling me to the small dance floor.

"I haven't seen you in a minute!" she shouted over the music as she jumped up and down.

I followed suit and flung my hands around. "I know! How are you?"

"I'm good! What's up with you and Draco? Last time you told me you guys were friends or something stupid but it looks as if you guys are dating now! Sorry about George by the way."

"It's fine! I'm not with Draco, we are friends — I think! Everybody should stop asking me that."

"Then maybe you should stop acting like it," she suggested loudly.

"Ouch!"

"Just trying to help out if you really want the rumors to stop."

"I know. Can nobody in the world have a guy best friend though? It's like if you even get near a guy rumors are spread that you are dating or more than friends which is just plainly stupid! I want to hang out with Draco without George becoming jealous or without people asking if we really kissed that night."

"You kissed?"

I nodded and headed back to the couch, leaving her with dangerous information and breathing slightly heavy due to the dancing.

"The Quidditch game lasted so long! It's already night," Blaise said.

"Come on," Draco said while pulling me out of the common room.

I giggled at him as he walked me like a dog all the way to the kitchens.

"Crackers," he said to the house elf.

"Don't call them that, Malfoy!" I shouted.

"I didn't!" he defended while taking the stack of crackers that the house elf handed him.

"Crackers," I whispered while taking them out of his hand and munching on them.

"How have you not eaten all day?" he exasperatedly asked.

"I was watching you play Quidditch."

"Thanks for coming."

"Thanks for winning."

He chuckled and led me back to the Slytherin common room. I snuck another drink off out of Blaise's full cup and Draco smacked me.

"Time for bed." He sighed knowing I would put up a fight.

"There's a party going on and you want me to sleep?"

"Yes."

He dragged me all the way up to my dorm while I groaned the whole time.

"What a pathetic excuse for a boyfriend," I said then immediately covered my mouth.

He stood and stared at me for a couple seconds until guiding me to my bed.

"Goodnight," he muttered while sitting up on the bed and staring at me.

"Night, dad," I said, grinning and dozing off immediately.

•••

I woke up in the middle of the night with the sudden urge to vomit.

I jolted up and Draco awoke next to me.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

I ignored him and sprinted to the bathroom, luckily making it to the toilet.

Draco rushed in and held up my hair out of my face. I made a mental note to thank him for that later.

Once everything exited out of my mouth, I sat against the wall and on the floor.

"I guess I did need you after all" I sighed while resting my head on his shoulder.

He simply nodded and I dozed off in that exact position.

•••

I awoke in the morning on Draco's shoulder, still on the bathroom floor. He was asleep and I stood up, making sure not to wake him up.

I changed my clothes and went down to the Great Hall for breakfast.

The Slytherin common room was surprisingly clean, most likely due to not wanting to be caught by a professor.

Pansy and Blaise must've still been asleep because they weren't gathered to eat either.

I sat alone at the Slytherin table, eating some toast.

"Hey," Harry said while sitting down across from me.

"This is a first," I said while lightly smiling. "Harry Potter sitting with the Slytherins."

"Everyone is asleep except Hermione who is studying for exams."

"Well Mr. 'Chosen one', what have you been up to?"

"Studying, Quidditch, sleeping, eating, and repeat."

"At least you've been studying. I've been doing nothing of the sort, although I should."

"Hermione's been pestering Ron and I for weeks and we finally gave in. She can be scary when she is angry."

I agreed and we continued chatting about school.

"I'm off to wake up Ron, catch up with you later!" Harry said while standing up.

"See you!"

With that, he left the great hall.

I finished my breakfast and decided on taking a swim in the Black lake, as it was warming up and I was bored.

I ran to my dorm and quietly opened the door. I grabbed my bathing suit from the closet and rushed into the bathroom out of habit. I was about to tear off my shirt but then I remembered Draco was laying on the floor.

I turned to face him and it looked as if he just woke up.

He smirked. "Proceed."

"Get out."

He hopped up and left my dorm completely.

I changed into my swimsuit and put a t-shirt and shorts overtop. I stepped off the last stair to the common room and Draco was awaiting my arrival.

"What're you doing?"

"We're swimming, aren't we?"

"You're coming?"

He urgently nodded and I led the way out to the lake. Once we arrived, I threw off my t-shirt and shorts while Draco took off his shirt.

I stepped into the water which was an average temperature. Draco followed after me. I was about knee deep and he shoved me from the back and I fell into the water.

"Malfoy!" I yelled.

"Am I ever going to be on a first name basis?"

"You're worried about that? I'm cold!"

I held out my hand for him to help me up, although I was just going to pull him in.

"I'm not falling for that."

"For what?"

"You know exactly what you're doing. You're going to pull me in."

"What? No! I would never," I dumbly said.

I swam out farther into the black lake until I was fully treading water.

He dove in and was underwater for quite some time. I began growing worried until he popped his head up behind me. I twirled around and sighed a breath of relief.

"Worried?" he asked while swimming closer to me.

"Of course I am, you can't swim," I responded while placing my hand on his head and forcefully shoving him down.

He came up, slightly coughing, and then grabbed me by my ankle and shoved me down. He let go immediately and I swam to the surface to see him swimming back to shore.

I rapidly swam up to him and stopped where I could stand easily.

"I proved to you I can swim, can you stop the jokes now?" he questioned.

"Never."

"Our kids will be amazing swimmers if I teach them."
