《Blood to Love | 3rd year》42- Second Chance: Denied

It was April. The first of April to be quite exact.
I awoke in my dorm with Pansy scurrying around the room and getting dressed for classes on the breezy spring morning.
Over the weeks that passed, I've been growing closer to Draco, and drifting my thoughts from George all together.
I wasn't over George but the feelings are slowly becoming less painful the more I saw him. I stopped talking to Snape after two weeks because it felt unnecessary to speak to a professor about my love life after I began feeling content about it. Draco had — like expected — become drastically more flirty to the point that I was practically obligated to reply back with witty remarks as well.
My feelings are extremely complicated. I wasn't not over George completely but I was close. I didn't feel completely into Draco but I was also close. Constant thoughts run through my head about dropping everything and getting with Draco. On the other hand, I still got cravings to be with George and I still randomly cried over him at night on some occasions.
Love is much too complicated for my small brain to comprehend.
I also failed to mention that Sirius Black apparently came back once more in February. Although — and unfortunately — only the Gryffindors got to witness it.
The story went a little like this: Sirius Black entered Hogwarts. Neville Longbottom was being extremely thick in the head and he left the common room passwords lying around. Of course, Sirius Black found the passwords and entered Ron and Harry's dormitory. Everyone thought it was in Ron's imagination and rumors were spread like wildfire. There are many flaws in the story and holes to be filled but most people ultimately think Sirius was there to kill Harry but once Ron screamed, he fled the scene rapidly.
Harry and Hermione had become closer to me as well and they fortunately didn't side with George. However, Ron has been and absolute git ever since the breakup. Ginny has comforted me, the twins have ignored me, and Pansy and Blaise have been busy in the dorms.
After a morning of thinking, I stood up from my bed, walked to the bathroom and began getting ready.
Pansy and Blaise had been together more often ever since they expressed their love for one another, meaning Draco and I have been staying in my dorm a lot but there were also some days where we would stay in our own dorms. Daphne, on the other hand, had practically gone missing.
I finished up in the bathroom and changed into my robes. Pansy sat on her vanity chair and waited for me to follow her out of the door for breakfast.
"I'm going to sit with Harry and Hermione today," I said.
She nodded and I slowly walked over to the Gryffindor table, getting odd glances the entire time.
This would be the first time sitting with them ever since George and I broke up. Although, Harry and Hermione have been privately hanging out with me in the common room and our dorms.
Harry raised his eyebrows but eagerly nodded once he saw my hesitation about sitting with them.
I sat in between him and Hermione. Ron was next to Harry and the twins across from them.
"How are you guys?" I asked while avoiding eye contact with George.
"We're good," Harry said awkwardly as Ron looked annoyed.
"I've actually been really great. I've just reread Hogwarts: A History and realized that apparition is impossible within Hogwarts," Hermione said as if we were in a normal conversation.

"When do we learn to apparate?" I questioned.
"Sixth year," George muttered.
I looked at him for the first time in awhile and saw sadness in his eyes, as if the break up just recently hit him, however, I didn't feel much sympathy for him.
I nodded and slowly turned back to Hermione who began speaking again.
"Yes but you have to be seventeen before you can officially do it and get a license," she informed us.
"Happy birthday," I finally mumbled to Fred and George and then I watched as everyone left the large room.
After lunch I headed to classes which went by in an absolute blur. Little did I know, every time I stepped into the hallway, George was glancing at me.
It was finally dinner before I knew it and I was absentmindedly walking to the Slytherin table, as my legs took me away without any thought.
"Finally decided to show up?" Draco asked as I sat next to him.
"Did you miss me?"
"Oh yeah, I'm terribly obsessed with you. I might even get a cardboard cutout of you," he sarcastically said.
I shook my head and dug into the enormous dinner in front of our eyes. Food was mountainously piled on platters and candles were floating around the tables, radiating light and reflecting off of the few of the bald students' heads.
I looked over at Draco who had his eyes directed towards George.
I then looked over to the Gryffindor table and noticed George looking at me. When he saw that I looked over, he immediately turned his head sadly.
I furrowed my eyebrows and Draco balled his hand up in a fist.
"Do you guys want to do homework together in the common room?" I asked, attempting to distract Draco.
"Yes, I need to catch up," Blaise said.
We all synchronously nodded our heads and finished up dinner with a brief conversation about the summer.
"I'd like to stay with one of you guys if that's possible," I uncertainly hinted.
"My mum is off with her husbands all the time, it shouldn't be a problem," Blaise stated.
"You're always welcome," Draco assured.
"My house is open too," Pansy said.
I smiled at all of them and felt overloaded with welcomeness and joy.
"Let's go do some homework," Pansy said as she noticed students exiting the great hall.
We joined the bustling crowd and pushed our way through to get to the dungeons and then the Slytherin common room.
Blaise mumbled the password ("Amortentia") and we walked into the crowded room.
I led them to a four person table in the corner and we all slammed our homework down and began scribbling answers as if it were a race to finish.
After about an hour of doing homework, I stopped to crack my knuckles and my neck. Once I stopped for a small break, I went right back to work.
A few silent minutes passed as we all finished up and the Slytherin door loudly bursted open.
"Y/n, we need to talk."
I recognized the voice immediately that belonged to George Weasley.
Draco began breathing heavy out of fury but I grabbed his wrist and squeezed it quickly until he slowly calmed down with a few deep breaths.
"She doesn't want to speak to you," Pansy said collectedly, glancing up at him for a few seconds and then looking back at her work.
"How about you let her answer?" George responded.
I looked at my three friends sitting around the table and then took a sharp breath inward.

"Come for me if you hear yelling," I whispered to Draco while getting up.
George opened the common room door and gestured for me to walk out.
The hall was completely empty except for Fred who was near the end, walking away from the scene.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to seem as annoyed though calm as possible.
"I wanted to say a few things," he began while pausing for my response.
"Go ahead."
"We weren't the best couple, but I do think I still love you. I just don't understand how you moved on so quickly now that we're over."
I was about to speak but he rambled on.
"I guess you didn't mean it when you kissed me and implied that you wanted to be with me forever."
"George! Are you serious right now? Is this some April fools prank?"
"It's not a prank! I can't stop thinking about you!"
"I fought for you! I told you that I didn't want this to end and you're the one who wanted a way out — so that's what I gave you! I meant everything I said when I was with you but we broke up and I couldn't go running after you. You hurt me George, you really hurt me and then proceeded to walk out," I said while my voice grew louder at every word.
"It didn't affect me at first but now I can see how bad I need you."
"You should've thought about that before you stormed out that night! I cried myself to sleep every night and you didn't care until now? You're being so selfish!"
"Selfish?"
"Yes! I was hurting for WEEKS! I was crying on Draco's shoulder while you went out and had a good time! Now you think that you can come back here and get me back after you completely shattered my heart?"
"I didn't mean anything I said! After seeing you with Draco I realized that I still love you!"
"Well I'm sorry about your feelings but you left me. I wanted to jump into your arms every moment that I looked at you in the hallways but I knew that I couldn't!" I began crying in the midst of the hallway. "You can't come crawling back after you see me with another guy."
He stepped closer and wrapped me in a hug. I tried to fight him away but he wouldn't budge and I sobbed into his chest while he held me with his strong arms that I used to admire.
Now all I could see in him is the monster that ripped my heart in half. I knew that he saw the girl he used to like — or love, rather — but little did he know, I had changed.
After a few seconds I pushed away and he finally let go.
"Y/n, please give me another chance!"
"I tried," I spat. "You wanted this and you got it. Enjoy the rest of your birthday."
With those last words, I stormed back into the common room to sit with my friends.
"Blaise, please come with me," I said while sprinting up the stairs to my dorm.
He followed right after and I laid on my bed and sobbed in his chest. He simply rubbed my back. I asked him to come in because I knew he would transition into his comforting self that has known me for years.
"You don't have to talk, unless you want, but I'll be here if you need me," he whispered.
I nodded through tears and after what felt like hours — which could've only been a few minutes in reality — I began talking like I knew he wanted me to do deep down.
"He wanted another chance," I said while hiccuping through tears.
"What did you say to that?" he softly questioned.
"I said that I gave him a chance before he walked out and that I have moved on."
"Have you? Moved on, I mean."
"Mostly."
"I think you did the right thing. It's going to be hard for a few days because he knows that he messed up but you have to keep up a fight because you deserve more than that."
I nodded and thanked him for letting me ramble to him. He smiled and continued rubbing my back comfortingly until Draco creeped in the doorway.
"Can I talk to her?" he asked Blaise in a hushed voice.
"Do you want to talk to Barbie?" Blaise turned to me.
I chuckled slightly and nodded.
Blaise stood up and Draco took his place with my head on his lap.
"Would you like to explain it to me now?"
I sighed and explained the same way I did to Blaise, although I got a different response.
"You've moved on?"
"Kind of," I mumbled.
"To who, may I ask?"
"I can't say. I can tell you that he's smart, handsome, and he is mean to me.0 grinned while recalling his words when he explained his secret lover who had actually turned out to be me.
He smirked knowingly and wiped the single tear that slipped out of my eye.
"Can you tell me more about this wonderful guy?"
He was the best at distracting me when I was hurting. I loved him for that.
"He has a childish fear that is honestly really cute. He once told me that tried to run away from his family but his mother gave him a rose which made him stay. He also is obsessed with me," I elaborated while getting more obvious after each explanation.
"He seems like a great guy," Draco said while fiddling with my hair.
I felt his cold rings brush up against my head as his fingers rummaged through my hair. I gazed up at him from his lap and stared into his beautiful eyes. He glanced down at me as well and I turned away embarrassedly while he continuing to twirl my hair with his long, pale fingers.
"He has the most amazing eyes that I could stare into all day if I had the chance. He is very cocky and arrogant but I am too so it works out. He thinks I don't recognize the little things he does for me but I can assure you that I notice everything he does," I continued.
"Has this guy ever kissed you?"
"No, I actually kissed him for a quick second but he pushed me away. I get the feeling that he really wants to kiss me though — and very — soon," I stumbled on my words as he pushed my head off of his lap to sit up.
"I think that this guy really wants to kiss you," he whispered, inching closer to me every time he spoke a word.
I smirked. "I really want to kiss him too."
He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me closer to him. He then lifted me up and placed me in his lap where I was straddling him. I sentimentally wrapped my arms around his neck. His hands traveled and linked against my lower back.
Our faces were centimeters apart and my heart began rapidly pounding. As we got closer, I closed my eyes and felt our lips softly graze one another.
We both froze and pulled apart slightly just to connect once more. I deepened the kiss but didn't slip any tongue into his mouth; it was too soon.
After the slow and steady kiss, I pulled away and stood up from his lap. He had a light pink lipstick stain smeared across his mouth and I chuckled.
He sat on my bed, in shock, while staring at me. I took my thumb and brushed it against his lip to wipe the makeup residue off.
"He really liked the kiss," Draco said while his breath staggered.
"I know he did but we shouldn't have done that."
"No, we shouldn't have," he whispered and grabbed my wrist while pulling me forward.
My lips pecked his and then he pushed me away playfully.
"Let's keep this a secret," I said while heading to the bathroom.
"A secret? Fine by me."
I shut the door behind me while freaking out, alone and jubilant.
I jumped around and waved my hands around. To my displeasure, I chanted much too hard and hit my hand on the wall while throwing it around aggressively.
"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly from inside the dorm.
"I'm fine, just stubbed my toe."
He laughed and I looked at myself in the mirror. A smiling, teenage girl reflected perfectly back at me and my smile grew even wider.
I felt more in the past five minutes than I had in the past month with anyone in my whole life.
I took deep breaths to calm myself down and walked back out of the bathroom.
"Draco! There's a spider!" I yelled.
He scoffed and walked into the bathroom.
"Where?"
"It's right above the ceiling in the shower!"
He looked up and stared at the ceiling while looking bewildered.
"I don't see it," he said, squinting.
"Get closer," I urged while he stepped into the shower and glanced up.
I turn on the shower and the cold water sprayed down on him quickly.
"April fools," I whispered while he grabbed my wrist.
I tried to wiggle away from him but he pulled me under the water next to him and we began getting completely soaked in our clothes.
He leaned in to kiss me and I closed my eyes to meet his lips under the shower head. I waited for a second and then opened one eye to see him swerving me in action.
"April fools," he whispered back.
After messing around, we decided to change into regular clothes. Thankfully, Draco had leftover clothes due to the amount of times he has stayed in my dorm ever since Pansy and Blaise had been residing in his dorm.
We changed and dried our hair.
"Let's go back downstairs and pretend this never happened," he suggested.
I nodded and he lead the way down the stairs and into the Slytherin common room where Blaise and Pansy were finally finishing their homework and discussing pet names.
"We have to get a cat and name it Whiskers," Pansy urged.
"No! We have to get a dog and name it Ace!" Blaise disagreed.
"Ace? Like the Muggle from the restaurant and mini golf place? Absolutely not!" Pansy said.
"We should get a dog and name it Romeo," I whispered to Draco.
"Only if we can get a cat and name it Juliet," he quietly said back while taking a seat.
"What did you two do up there?" Blaise grinned.
"Just a small prank for April fools day," I half-truthfully said.
He smirked at Draco and we all decided to talk about our favorite pet names and what animals we would buy in the future. Blaise began thinking exotically and claimed to want a monkey. We all giggled at him but it looked as if he was serious.
Draco and I randomly glanced at one another, trying to rid our minds of the amazing events that recently took place in the small dorm upstairs.
