《Blood to Love | 3rd year》35- Valentine's Day
Advertisement
For the remainder of the day, after witnessing our ex lovers with one another, we moped around and weren't very productive. Time past slowly and we just talked in the common room.
While sitting at lunch and dinner, we didn't make much conversation, as it was sort of awkward to recall the events.
After dinner we arrived back into the common room and I was done being sad.
"Malfoy, why are we really sad?" I asked while Blaise and Pansy exited to Pansy and my dorm.
"Because now we know it's true." he began. "We both had hoped that one day we could possibly get back together with them and be happy again but it's official. We've witnessed what we've known for the past months and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it now."
"Well when you put it that way!" I motivationally shouted. "We need to perceive the situation differently. We saw them, okay? That means that we, though mostly you, should be moving on! It's good that we broke our individual relationships off or it could've escalated into something way worse."
"You want me to move on?" he asked.
"Yes, and I don't mean that by having to get with someone, unless you want to, of course, but you need to find something to occupy your time other than constantly thinking about girls."
"I play Quidditch," he said.
"I totally forgot about that! Why haven't you told me to come to any games?"
"No — you really don't need to watch me play."
"Of course I don't need to go to your games but I want to."
"You want to come to my game?"
"Yes, we are kind of friends, I guess. That means that we will hang out with each other when we each have events going on. So you will let me know when your next game with the Gryffindors is? And don't make an excuse because I will find out."
"Fine, I'll tell you when the next game is," he murmured.
"Great, now let's stop being sad and enjoy the rest of our week."
•••
We did just that. Over the next few days our spirits were lifted and we ultimately forgot about Hermione and Ron altogether, as we were distracted by each other and me with George.
It was a Wednesday morning and I was sitting across from Blaise in Divination class.
"Hello students," Trewlany's raspy voice echoed throughout the room. "Today is Valentine's Day!"
"What will we be doing?" Pansy asked from across the room.
"My dear, we will be making love predictions."
Most of the boys grunted but the girls squealed with excitement, except me. I honestly didn't care much for this class, but I was curious to see if Trewlany would say anything about George and I.
"I will be going around and speaking to each one of you individually. All I need is your palm and you may talk with each other until I get to your hand."
Trewlany went around the classroom and predicted a few realistic predictions and a few out of the ordinary ones as well. She finally creeped up to Blaise and he held out his palm while I listened.
"True love. You already have it or it will come soon but it's there," she croaked while slightly tearing up as though young love was the most beautiful thing she had ever witnessed.
I smiled at him and he smiled back knowing that we were both thinking about him and Pansy.

She stepped around the table and I held out my palm for her to read.
"Oh my! You have many relationships and heartbreak to come but you will find your person at a young age."
I furrowed my eyebrows, smiled, and then ultimately just sat with a confusing expression etched across my face.
Does this mean George and I will break up? Or does this mean that he is the person I find at a young age? I've had heartbreak with Ron. Is this stuff even accurate anyways?
Blaise sent me an eyebrow wiggle but he looked slightly confused as well. I stopped pondering the thoughts that flew into my brain and began to focus solely on getting through the day and being able to hang out with George tonight.
During our free period, we caught up on some homework and then Draco joined us in sitting at the library tables,
"Happy Valentine's Day," Draco whispered to me.
"Happy Valentine's Day," I replied.
"Any plans for the day?"
"Probably just hanging with George, why?"
"I thought we could do something seeing as Blaise and Pansy have something planned already."
"I'll see when I'm free."
"Brilliant," he muttered.
"That's a first. You asking me to hang out. You're life is getting pretty pathetic, can't you admit?"
"Say it again, I dare you."
"You're pathetic."
He glared at me while Blaise continued scribbling on his parchment of homework. Draco then suddenly he grabbed my wrist from under the table. He then pushed me off of the library bench chair and Blaise gasped.
Luckily, he didn't see that Draco had been the one to push me so I blamed it on sheer clumsiness. Draco smirked at me and I stared daggers into his eyes, hoping they would reach his soul.
"I'm fine, I promise. I just fell because I'm clumsy," I restated to Blaise to which he nodded contently and went back to completing his homework.
"I didn't know my name was clumsy," Draco whispered into my ear as I adjusted my position back on the chair.
"I'll kill you," I whispered back.
"I'd like to see you try."
I went to push him off of the bench by shoving his chest but he caught on to what I was doing and used his fast reflexes to grab my wrists again. I tried to subtly wiggle out of his grip and thankfully, Blaise was so focused on his homework that he didn't notice us playfully, yet competitively fighting.
He wouldn't let go of my wrist so I stopped fighting.
"Good girl." Draco smirked widely.
"Don't even," I threatened.
"Or what?"
I kicked him in the shin and he finally let go of my wrists and brought his hands to his leg, suggesting that it hurt. A proud grin spread across my face as he winced dramatically.
"What was that noise?" Blaise asked, looking up from his paper.
"I almost fell off my chair," I lied.
"You need help." Blaise sighed and I giggled at his reaction.
Draco and I messed around for the rest of the period while Blaise intently worked on his schoolwork. When time finally ended we sadly walked to Care of Magical Creatures, wishing that we could've played around longer.
During class, we continued with a boring lesson due to Hagrid's worry for getting sacked. Lunch and the rest of the day went by immensely quick and by the time I knew it we were entering the Great Hall for a grand dinner.

As we walked in, we noticed pink hearts floating in the air and tables decorated with bright velvet tablecloth. Mountains of food were piled on black trays and the ceiling was bewitched to show nightfall with warm-colored stars sparkling throughout it.
The dessert was pink and red as well. All of these decorations just for Valentine's Day made me think about how amazing the food and decorations I must've missed during Christmas.
Today, I decided to sit next to George in honor of Valentine's Day and because I simply missed him.
"Hey," I greeted.
"Hi," the trio and twins all said back.
George wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I could feel my face heat up. He noticed and put a proud look on his own face while proceeding to converse with the group.
"Happy Valentines Day," I whispered to George.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Y/n."
"What should we do tonight?"
"Whatever you want, love."
"How about while you and Fred are selling candies I can sit and watch but also catch up on homework."
"Why didn't you finish your homework during your free period?"
"Oh — well, there was just a lot and I didn't have motivation."
"Sounds good to me," he said while turning to Fred. "Y/n is coming to watch us sell candy. She just craves being in my presence."
"Georgie, did she tell you that or are you making scenarios in your head?" Fred jested.
"Both," George said which made my face grow even hotter than it was originally.
I ignored his comment as best as I could and began eating. Throughout the luxurious dinner, I talked mostly to Harry and George.
"So you guys think you'll win the Quidditch cup this year?" I asked.
"Of course we will."
"You're in over your head. One day the Slytherins will win the cup you'll all be crying."
"Nothing out of the usual," George joked.
"Who makes you cry? Oliver?"
Harry rubbed his neck and I sent a confused expression their way.
"Oliver made Fred cry," George mumbled.
I bursted into laughter and patted Fred's back while he looked at me confusedly, as he was distracted by a conversation with Ron and didn't hear a word we said.
"Poor Freddie," I whispered, slightly sincerely.
Fred looked bewildered at me. "What happened to me?"
"You cried over Quidditch!" George said.
"You told her?"
"We all cry over sports at least once in our lives, don't be embarrassed," I comforted.
He nodded skeptically at me and we noticed that the students were filing out of the dining area to their common rooms. I witnessed Pansy, Blaise, and Draco heading to the Slytherin common room but only waved and gestured that I was going to the Gryffindor common room.
The trio scurried off into the boys dorm as if they were solving some secret mystery that no one could know about. I ignored them and sat on the bright red couch. Fred and George set up their belongings and began testing candies on the students when they handed them a few coins.
"This is a puking pastille," George explained as I pulled out my potions essay. "It's only causing the kids to be nauseous but we've been working on ways to fix it. Eventually we plan to make you puke but heal immediately after to get you out of classes. It's a long process though."
"You guys are absolutely brilliant. I have no idea how you come up with these bloody amazing ideas," I complimented them.
"That's a secret, but you'll always be able to have free samples," Fred said kindly.
I nodded contently and began writing my potions essay and randomly glancing at the twins who were very passionate about their inventions. Some would call them dumb academically, but they're just so focused on other things with great potential and I admired them for that.
"Potions?" Fred asked, reminding me of an older brother awkwardly hanging with his younger brothers girlfriend.
"Yes." I sighed while scribbling my thoughts down.
George glanced at my work, raised his eyebrows, and went back to handing the students a variety of candies.
"What was that?" I asked.
"What?" George questioned right back.
"Why'd you look at me like that while I wrote stuff down for this essay?"
"You're a bloody good writer."
"Why thank you."
I continued on the essay along with a boosted ego from George's compliment.
After awhile the line of students diminished and Fred stalked off as well.
"I should get to bed," I sadly stated.
"I told Molly about you," he blurted out.
"What? Molly Weasley? As in your mum?"
"Yes. I owled her the other day and she told me — well why don't you just read the letter," he suggested.
I softly smiled and he pulled the letter that his mum wrote out of his shirt pocket.
Dear George,
I would like you to know how proud I am of you and Fred. Although I can not tell you apart all the time, I love each of you equally and I'm glad that you have found someone else to love you as well, or at least like you. It's only been a month if I recall correctly, I'm surprised you lasted this long. No offense, Georgie!
I read your letter and noticed that she is just a third year. I advice that you be careful and be protective. It is obvious that you truly like her due to your unusual formality when writing to me. Wishing the best for your first real relationship!
I've taught you well enough for you to know that you must treat this girl well. Holding the door and walking her to her dorm is the proper etiquette. Enough about that, I hope this girl loves you as much as I do. She will always be welcome at the burrow. Thank you for telling me, and make sure you don't drift from Freddie because of this.
Hugs and kisses,
Your proud mum
I finished the letter and stared at it for a few seconds before speaking up.
"I already love her," I happily said.
He sighed a small breath of relief and visibly calmed down as though he was nervous or embarrassed that I was reading the letter.
"She will love you," he assured. "You can come to the burrow over the summer and try her wonderful food."
"Is that an invitation?" I asked while smirking.
"She said so herself that you're welcome," he replied while pointing to that part in the letter.
"I'd be happy to go for awhile."
"Great."
"Can I see the letter you wrote?"
"Good thing I made a copy," he said and grinned while handing me his own letter.
I gripped it from his hands and began to intently read it.
Dear mum,
I've found the girl of my dreams. She is a third year and she is the smartest and most beautiful person I have ever met, apart from you, of course.
Her name is Y/n L/n, she is a pureblood, and she has the most prettiest e/c eyes I've ever gazed into.
The only reason I am writing this letter is because I wanted to inform you that this is my first real relationship and it's already been a month. I would've told you sooner but I've been busy with other things that you wouldn't approve of.
I hope you like her as much as I do. I'd love for her to meet you in the future but only when we're comfortable with it.
You don't have to ramble to me about proper manners because I think I've got it covered.
P.S : she knows the difference between Fred and I which is a plus.
Sincerely,
You're favorite son, George
I reread the letter twice and finally looked up at George's vulnerable face. I smiled at him and then gave him a deep kiss which lasted for a minute or so.
"I can't believe this," I whispered while pulling away from him.
"I'd do anything for you," he replied.
I grinned. "I know you would."
"You should get some sleep," he sadly said.
"I should."
"I need some too," he said while pecking me on the cheek and offering to walk me to my common room.
"No, you're tired and I'll be okay."
"Come back if you need me."
"I will. Goodnight."
"Night, darling."
I walked out of the Gryffindor common room as he watched me leave and rushed through the halls, avoiding Filch.
I successfully made it over to my common room and it was pitch black as it always was at this hour. I felt around and eventually made my way to the stairs to head to bed.
I walked up the stairs and bumped into someone and stumbled back. They grabbed me immediately and I gasped, thinking I was going to tumble down the stairs. Their build felt more like a male and they stood nonchalantly in my presence and I didn't move.
"Who are you?" the person whispered but
I couldn't make out who it was by their voice being so quiet and indistinctive.
"It's Y/n, who are you?"
"Draco." He deeply chuckled.
I pulled away from his grip but felt around for his wrist instead to lead him down the few steps and into the common room.
It was extremely dark and I felt around for his wrist but I could tell that I accidentally lightly squeezed his shoulder. He shuffled uncomfortably and lifted his arm up for me to grab.
I snatched his wrist and hauled him down into the dark common room and lit my wand, feeling stupid that I hadn't beforehand.
With the light from my wand, I could easily light the fireplace and make out Draco's face very clearly.
"What were you doing in the girls dorms?" I aggressively whispered while plopping down next to him on the emerald couch but staring into the fire instead of making eye contact while speaking.
"I was talking to Pansy. She was just telling me what her and Blaise did today because I was bored and Blaise wanted to sleep," he explained.
"Oh. I should honestly get some sleep too."
"Go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Are you tired?" I asked.
"No, but I haven't been sleeping well recently."
"I'll stay then."
"No, go get some sleep, I know you need it. It keeps you pretty or whatever they say."
"Beauty sleep," I said quietly, allowing a silence fill the air before I spoke again. "I know why you haven't been sleeping. It's the nightmares and I have them too. I understand and I don't want you to suffer alone so I'm going to stay until you fall asleep or until I fall asleep."
"Fine."
I nodded and placed my heavy head on his left shoulder while my eyes dared to close.
We sat in silence which gave me an unfortunate opportunity to fall asleep.
I felt Draco's voice echo across the room and his chest vibrates against my ear as he spoke. I only groaned responses and I could tell that he was moderately laughing at me.
I felt myself drift off completely while a hand laid me down on the couch and covered me in a warm blanket.
I slept wonderfully the whole night but awoke to whispers in the morning from early rising students. My eyes fluttered opened and I looked around. I was laying comfortably on the couch while Draco was peacefully sleeping on the one person sofa. Only a few students were gathered around the couch and whispering and others just ignored us completely.
I sat up and shook Draco awake. We stormed off to our dorms and got ready for the day.
Pansy was already awake and I looked over at my bed. It seems as if someone placed something on it or sat on it because the comforter was wrinkled.
"Draco left here yesterday after I was talking to him and you never came back to your bed. People said you were on the couch in the common room with Draco," she said, worried.
"He couldn't sleep so I just stayed with him."
"Well, that was very nice of you."
"I know."
She rolled her eyes and we headed down to the great hall for breakfast.
Draco sat next to me while Pansy and Blaise started a conversation about their potions essay.
"Morning," Draco said as he dug into some breakfast food.
I mimicked him and groaned out of morning tiredness.
He chuckled at my greeting and then reached for a green apple at the same time I did.
"We did this earlier this year but we hated each other then," he recalled while throwing me an apple and grabbing on for himself.
"I remember."
"How could you not? I'm sure that you remember all the occurrences that happened with me. I'm the most interesting thing in your life," he boasted.
"Far from it."
"You can say that but we both know that you love me."
"You wish."
We turned away from one another's bickering and began eating our food before classes started.
As students left the great hall, we followed after them for our first class of the day: Potions.
I walked to class with Draco by my side and regarding the lesson, we were instructed to brew a shrinking potion that we had been reviewing in our textbooks.
"We might have to use this on your big head," I teased Draco.
"Or your mouth," he retorted.

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him.
