《Blood to Love | 3rd year》33- A Day with Draco

"You miss her?" I repeated Draco's sentence, though now as more of a question.

"I miss her like crazy. I stay up all night thinking about her."

"Go after her, you blithering idiot!"

"I can't do that."

"If you love her that much than why are you letting her go?"

"Because she has someone else!"

"Malfoy, look what you're doing to yourself? You've bottled up your emotions so much and now all that's left is an explosion."

"Thanks for stating the obvious," he sarcastically spoke.

"I'm just trying to help!" I defended while pulling away from the hug position that we were in.

"I don't need you."

"Fine," I simply stated and made my way out of the door.

"That was a lie!" he shouted after me.

"I know it was," I teasingly yet slightly seriously stated. "I'm what's keeping you together."

"No, you don't understand," Draco began to speak, as if it were a speech. "It's not Hermione. I like someone else. She's pretty, funny, and sort of mean but she has someone else."

"Do you mind if I ask who?" I astonishingly questioned.

"I can't tell you that. Although, she always fights with me and I'm convinced that she is still angry at me for being stupid but I can't help but fall for her every time I see her dumb little smile. She knows me more than anyone else, including myself."

"Draco, if you can confide in me then why don't you go ahead and tell her?"

He mumbled something but I couldn't quite hear him but after a second he realized that he hadn't answered my question, or at least not loud enough.

"Like I said, she has someone else." He shrugged it off.

"It's very difficult to help you when I don't even know who the girl is," I explained.

"I don't need help. I'll be okay. I always am."

"Stop. You're acting like you don't deserve anything in life when that's not true! You care so much about your parents that you take extreme measures to make them proud and you are a great friend as well."

"Friend," he repeated as if it was a sour word. "I don't want to be a good friend."

"Why wouldn't you?"

"Life isn't about being a good friend. All I am to this girl is a friend."

"You can't make people like you, especially if they've got someone else."

"I know, that's why there is nothing to do about it."

"You should go and love yourself." I grinned.

"Even Justin Bieber has a quote for my pathetic life."

"Clean up and let's go have fun before we have to go to classes the whole week," I suggested.

He wiped his eyes and straightened out his shirt while randomly glancing at me as I stood against the door, waiting for him to follow after me.

"Are you going to pick up the chair that you kicked?" I asked as he walked towards me.

"No," he blankly stated while motioning me to start walking.

I looked over and saw that his face was slightly puffy and I felt sorry for him. He glanced over at me and I felt embarrassed for staring at him so I turned away immediately.

"Don't pity me," he said through gritted teeth.

"I don't," I plainly said while staring straight ahead as I walked.

"Your face says otherwise."

"My face can't talk."

"An expression expresses a thousand words," Draco said.

"I think that's a picture," I corrected.

"Your face is a picture."

"Maybe a three year old's drawing." I chuckled.

"Who is the insecure one now?"

"Hush and come on," I urged while grabbing his wrist and pulling him to the Astronomy Tower, getting the idea from Neville.

"It's so pretty up here, we should come more often," I said.

He nodded as I laid down on the cold, astronomy tower floor and gazed at the sky above.

"Are you going to come lay?" I questioned as Draco stared at me.

"I suppose." He sighed while laying down on his back next to me.

"So your really not going to tell me who this girl is that you fancy so much?" I practically begged.

"No, but you know her."

"If I guess will you tell me?"

"No."

"Fine, I'll drop it."

"Finally." A silence gloomed over us before he asked, "What makes you like stars so much?"

"A couple months ago I stargazed with Ron and Harry and Harry said something about that star," I began while pointing at the brightest star in the night sky. "He said that he loves that star because even though there are thousands of them in the sky, it still outshines them all, which made me very happy."

"Potter said that? Of course that softy did."

"Malfoy, shut up and let me have my moment."

"The stars remind me of my stupid name."

"It's not stupid, I think that it's unique."

"I don't want to be unique. For once in my life I'd like to be a normal teenager without any issues."

"I think most people think that too. We all struggle in our own ways but nobody knows because we all hide our pain."

"What made you so wise?"

"Therapy."

"You went to therapy? When did you have time for that?" he asked, looking absolutely shocked.

"Honestly I think everyone needs therapy, but got it in the Muggle world."

"What for?"

"Eleanor," I whispered.

That was the first time I had ever willingly mentioned my sister around Draco and it honestly felt like a relief not to be angry over it.

"The nightmares too?" he asked.

I nodded and he immediately changed the conversation to Blaise and Pansy's relationship, thinking that I would would get upset or yell at him like I usually did.

"They've got to stop staying in my dorm," he complained.

"I'm just glad they're happy together and you should be too."

"Of course I am. It just gets annoying when I always walk in on them making out all the time."

"How about you knock or ask them to lock the door?"

"Don't even act like you didn't walk in on them too, this isn't completely my fault."

"I'll admit that I have but still, we should take precautions because one day they aren't just going to be making out."

He nodded and my stomach embarrassingly growled.

"Want to grab food?"

I nodded and he stood up and offered his hand to help me up. I took it and he led me down to the kitchens where Ron and I used to mess around.

"Please make us some smoothies!" I eagerly, though still kindly, asked one house elf.

Most of the house elves nodded but one in particular, that I used to talk to when I was with Ron, began speaking to me.

"What happened to your boyfriend Mr. Weasley?" The house elf nosily asked.

"Ron likes someone else," I informed the house elf. "You won't be seeing us around here together anymore."

"What a shame, you two were so happy," the house elf began said while tearing up causing me to panic and Draco to hold in a chuckle from the corner of the kitchen.

"Don't worry! I've moved on, it's okay now and we are both happy again!" I consoled.

"You've moved on to Mr. Malfoy?" the house elf squeaked and a slick smile began to form on his face.

Draco coughed nervously and I giggled, truly believing that would never happen.

"No! I'm with George now, George Weasley," I explained.

"Ron's brother? Imagine how upset the youngest boy Weasley must be! You've got his troublemaker brother now!"

The elf aggressively bursted into tears and I hugged him very tightly, honestly scared I restricted his breath.

"George isn't a troublemaker and Ron has moved on too," I assured the tiny elf.

"Those twins are bad!" the house elf screeched. "Who has the young Mr. Weasley moved on to?"

"Hermione Granger!" I said, hoping that this house elf liked her, as most people do.

"Ms. Granger? The one who wants to feels bad for the elves? She's insane!" the elf yelled.

"That'll make them perfect together," I insulted them accidentally while Draco sat on a stool and sucked down his plain vanilla smoothie.

"Vanilla? How boring," I said as I sat next to Draco on the stool after walking away from the emotional house elf.

"Similar to you."

"Me? I recall you yourself saying that my life was eventful. Your hair on the other hand is very vanilla."

"Insult my hair again," he dared.

"Where do you hide the toner?"

He nudged me in the side and I opened my mouth in shock.

"You deserved that, I told you not to joke about my beautiful hair."

"I'll admit it's okay — now at least — but the slicked back hair something else."

"I'd like to see you pull off slicked back hair as well as I did."

"I could do it much better than you."

"Right," he muttered. "Because you have to be good at everything."

"I might not be good at everything but I'm good at this," I said while dipping my fingers into the whipped cream on the surface of my smoothie and shoving it into his face.

"My face! My beautiful face!" he groaned but decided to shove his own serving of whipped cream into my face.

We began throwing food at each other while the house elves joined in. After being covered in sprinkles and desserts, I slipped on a pile of some whipped cream and Draco grabbed me before I fell.

"Thanks," I muttered.

He nodded and began tickling me until I couldn't breathe or form words anymore. I pushed him off of me and began panting.

"That was mean," I said.

"You shouldn't have fell into my arms."

"I would never fall for you, Malfoy."

"Right back at you."

After settling down and slightly helping clean up, we decided that we were tired and needed showers.

We sprinted to the Slytherin common rooms, trying to avoid Filch and trailing dessert across the floor. Once we arrived we giggled goodbyes and rushed to our separate dorms.

Luckily — for Draco at least — Pansy was in my dorm and peacefully sleeping. I snuck past her and Daphne then went into the bathroom for a late night shower.

After I showered and completed my routine as usual, I decided to jump into bed and peacefully fall asleep.

Luckily, my sister didn't appear in my vision and I appreciated not seeing her.

"Good morning sleepy head!" Pansy said, seemingly energized.

"Morning," I groaned.

"Where were you all day yesterday?"

"Messing with Malfoy all day."

"What do you mean by that?"

"We hung out on the Astronomy Tower and kitchens," I mumbled while getting out of bed and changing into my robes for class.

"Hurry up! You've already missed breakfast and Divination is about to start," she urged.

I groaned but tried to hurriedly finish getting ready. Once I was finished she hauled me all the way to the Divination classroom and I began gaining more energy as the minutes passed.

"Tired?" Blaise chuckled as I sat across from him at our permanent circle table.

"Yes."

"I heard you hung out with Draco all day yesterday," Blaise said.

"As a matter of fact, I did. Is that an issue?"

"Not at all. I was just wondering if it was true, or just rumors."

"It was true. He began opening up to me and I think I'm good enough at advice. I mean he tells me things that he wouldn't have told me before."

"I'm fine with it as long as you guys aren't arguing all the time."

"Don't get me wrong, we still insult each other but I think we both realize it's all a joke."

"Any new news on him then?"

"He fancy's a girl but he wouldn't tell me who. I really wish he would've because maybe I could've helped him."

Blaise rubbed his neck awkwardly as I said that.

"You know! Who is it?" I asked, though in a begging manner.

"I didn't say anything!"

He put his arms up in defense and acted as though he hadn't just been obvious.

"Blaise, I know that you know! Who is it?" I repeated.

"I'm sorry, I can't say!"

"Does Pansy know?"

"No," he simply said.

For the rest of the day, I begged Blaise to tell me who Draco was interested in but he was very good at putting up a fight and he never informed me.

The next thing I knew, it was time for dinner and I couldn't pester Blaise in front of Draco.

Draco smirked before speaking. "I think that you should sing more Justin for me."

"I told you I don't sing," I said stubbornly.

"You do it all the time though."

"Not on command."

"Why are you wearing my tie?"

"Oh this is yours," I said, as I forgot to return his.

"Here," he began while taking off my tie and switching me.

"It looked better on me," I whispered.

He rolled his eyes and we messed around for the rest of dinner.

The day flew by, similar to the rest of January. All that occurred was more hanging out with Draco, dates with George, and immense time spent doing school work.

The first few days of February creeped passed and by the time I knew it, it was February 10th and my one month anniversary with George.
