《Blood to Love | 3rd year》31- Snape's Big Day

Draco was mumbling about something but I became exhausted and blocked him out. I fell asleep quickly while he continued talking.
"Don't you think?" I heard him ask.
"Mhm," I groaned, still half asleep.
"I'm tired," he whispered.
"Mhm," I repeated while officially zoning out into the darkness of the night.
Draco seemed to fall asleep as well because the next thing I knew, it was morning and he was lying beside me while peacefully sleeping, closer than we've ever been before.
I looked around the room and noticed that Pansy must've not found her way back to the room by morning and Daphne wasn't there either. I sighed in relief and Draco slightly adjusted his position which made me jump, as I hadn't been expecting it.
I slipped out of the blankets and decided to get ready for the day while Draco slept. I brushed my teeth, styled my hair, and threw on my preferred style of clothing.
Once I finished getting ready I decided to wake Draco up or else he would yell at me for ruining his quality sleep schedule.
I shook him slightly and he groaned, obviously, yet unknowingly, annoyed.
"Malfoy, get up!"
"Hm?" he sleepily questioned while turning over to his side, as if he was purposely making it harder for me to wake him up.
"Get up!" I urged.
His eyes fluttered open and he looked around utterly confused.
"Oh shi— hi," he said while glancing up at me as I sarcastically smiled at down at him.
"Hi, I thought you'd like to be woken up to get ready for the day. We should leave for Hogsmeade around noon," I informed him.
"Yeah, thanks. What time is it?" he asked while jumping up and walking towards the door.
"Ten."
He nodded and rushed out of my dorm and into his. As I had expected, Pansy walked in a few minutes later to get ready for her date with Blaise.
"Did you have fun last night?" I teased.
"Loads. What'd you do with Draco?"
"What do you mean?" I quickly asked, hoping she didn't realize he slept in my bed.
"He didn't come back, did he sleep on the common room couch or something?" she asked, furrowing her eyebrows curiously at my relieved expression.
"Oh, he stayed in here." I shrugged, folding some clothes and putting them in my drawers.
"On the floor?"
"Something like that."
A few minutes pass and she continued rummaging through her clothes, ignoring what I said.
"I have nothing to wear!" She finally broke the silence as she dug frantically through her small but cluttered closet.
"Pansy you have a million things! Let me help."
"This is how we became friends," she smiled back at the memory while backing out of the closet so I could look.
"You call us friends?" I joked.
"Ouch. No, seriously! I remember it vividly, although it was only like a month ago. Anyway, we were going to the Muggle fair before winter break and I couldn't find any clothes but you offered to help and I suppose it really is that easy to make a friend," she surprisingly realized.
"That is a terrible story."
"A story for the kids and grandkids!" She looked up as if imagining telling her children the story of how she met her girl best friend.
"If you ever marry, of course," she added while grinning.
"I have options."
"You'll probably end up with George by the way you two flirt now. And to think you aren't even officially dating!" Pansy emphasized.

"Pansy! We're as good as dating. There's just no official label, but I think we know well enough to not go making out with other people."
"I mean you did kiss Harry and Adrian this week," she jested.
"Harry kissed me and I already told you several times that Adrian forced me into him."
"You didn't stop the kiss with Harry though. I was there. Also, I realize that Adrian doesn't count and I'm sorry that happened to you."
"Thank you. Let's pick you out some clothes," I excitedly said while rummaging through her closet.
"You didn't stop the kiss did you?" Pansy continued to pester about Harry and I.
"No I didn't."
"I wasn't really expecting you to say that!" She gasped. "How do you feel about him, honestly?"
"Harry? Well he's cute and a great kisser but I'm sort of with George right now."
"How about Draco?" She grinned.
"What? He's just a friend, is that not obvious?"
"The fact that he slept in your bed last night says otherwise."
I covered my face in embarrassment. "How'd you know?"
"You were quick to question what I meant when I asked what you did with Draco and his tie is on your bed."
I glanced at the bed.
"That's mine!"
"No it's not, Y/n. Draco has a small snake stitched into the bottom that his mom made."
"Oh," I defeatedly stated while glancing at the tie and seeing the snake.
"So, still friends?" She wiggled her eyebrows, similar to Ginny.
"Of course we are! I told him not to go into his dorm because of you and Blaise so he just followed me here. We were just talking and fell asleep. I assure you it was nothing," I said, turning back to the closet.
"I believe you. I just didn't realize that you were so close with him now."
"I wouldn't call it close but I don't dislike him as much as I did. I think he at least feels bad about Buckbeak and he has surprisingly apologized countless times."
"I'm glad that we are all getting along now," she exultantly stated.
"Me as well."
I finally found a cute sweater for her to wear with her choice of jeans. I approved the outfit once she tried it on and she scoped herself out in the mirror.
"Thanks for helping me," she said.
"No problem," I replied and we headed down to the common room after finishing our overall looks.
Blaise was on the emerald sofa next to Draco and I squished myself in between them while Pansy sat on the other side of Blaise. We stared at the fire for awhile and watched the students enter and exit the common room while saying absolutely nothing.
I decided to speak up.
"You guys should get going," I said to Blaise and Pansy who were cuddling on the couch.
"Tell you about it tonight!" Pansy giddily whispered as she passed me to walk out of the common room door.
I nodded and smiled as they exited and was left alone with Draco on the couch.
"We should leave soon," he advised.
"Yes," I sighed, not wanting to get up quite yet.
"Now!" he urged while pulling me up.
I groaned but stood up and sluggishly walked out of the common room to find the trio. The first spot we checked was the Gryffindor common room and thankfully, they were all on the couch together doing different things: Ron was munching on some food; Harry checking out some odd map; Hermione sitting criss cross with a book perched upon her lap.

Once we opened the door, the three of them whipped their heads around and gave their best smiles.
"Hi," I greeted.
"Good morning," Hermione pleasantly responded.
"Are we leaving?" Ron sasked with a full mouth.
"Yes, Ronald. Close your mouth!" Hermione demanded, as though she was Ron's mother.
"See?" Draco whispered. "You see the way she looks at him."
I sadly glanced at him as he simply looked around the common room.
We then followed after Harry, who was now leading us down the hall. We walked outside in the cold and slightly shivered but continued heading to Hogsmeade. It wasn't terribly far and we arrived shortly after.
We all collectively decided to go to the Three Broomsticks to slurp down some lukewarm butterbeer. I took a sip and the foam stuck to the top of my lips.
Harry was sitting next to me and he laughed at my foam mustache. I wiped it off while Draco slightly chuckled from across my seat. Ron was sat next to Draco and Hermione next to Ron.
"Would you like some more?" Madam Rosmerta, the owner, came by and questioned.
"I think we're good, thanks," Hermione answered.
"Actually, I'll take another," Ron quickly spoke up before she left our table.
Hermione glared at him but he avoided her gaze and patiently waited for his butterbeer.
"Draco, what made you want to come?" Harry suddenly asked.
"Nothing better to do," he simply said.
"What have you been doing this week, Harry?" I questioned, intrigued by his eventful life.
"Professor Lupin is teaching me how to cast a patronus."
"Have you been successful?" Draco engaged in the conversation.
"I've done it once."
"What is it?" I excitedly asked.
"It's a stag, like my dad," he said while a proud smile was etching across his face.
"That's amazing," I complimented.
Up until Ron finished his second butterbeer, we were making short conversation and having a content time. It was obvious that the trio wasn't fond of Draco but I couldn't have just asked him to leave, and frankly it looked as though he was having a acceptable time himself.
"Where to next?" Ron eagerly asked while finishing off his cup with large slurps.
"Ronald, you are disgusting!" Hermione complained, looking across the table. "Harry, where do you want to go?"
"Anywhere that a professor isn't at."
"Why?" I butted in.
"I'm not even supposed to be at Hogsmeade but I've been sneaking here with a map that the twins gave me," Harry explained.
Although I was confused, I decided to lead the group to Zonko's joke shop to buy prank supplies and just look around at the interesting items.
Once we arrived in the store, Hermione stayed near the door as if she was worried a toy would jump out at her. Ron zipped towards the tampered-with candy but Harry followed Draco and I to the sugar quills. I decided to get one for each of us. They all thanked me but Hermione was skeptical about the gift.
"Are you sure it's safe?"
"Hermione, you'll be fine!" I urged.
She subtly relaxed and finally accepted the gift while we began walking towards Honeydukes.
As we entered, there was a tremendous crowd of students gathered around looking at love potions in a small pink bottle. Though they slightly intrigued me as well, I decided I had no use for them anyway.
"You're odd," Luna Lovegood whispered to me as I was searching a shelf in front of me.
I glanced at her exotic clothing and style which made me giggle as she had just called me the odd one.
"Why is that, Luna is it?"
"Luna Lovegood," she began in a dreamy voice. "You're odd because most girls are digging through the love potions but you are avoiding them."
"I have no use to make someone fall in love with me unwillingly." I smiled at my own logic.
"There are Nargles all over the potions," Luna announced.
"What are Nargles?"
Before she could answer, Draco ran up to me with a bottle of one of the love potions.
"Malfoy, what are you? A teenage girl?" I asked while laughing at his eagerness to show me the pink potion while Luna raised her eyebrows at me knowingly.
"You have to buy this for me! I don't want to be seen holding it."
He shoved the bottle in my hand and tossed me a couple galleons from his pocket.
I sighed but bought the potion for him. I walked out of Honeydukes where they were all gathered and Draco glared at me, suggesting that he didn't want the Gryffindors to see him with the bag.
I rolled my eyes at him and we decided to go back to Hogwarts, as it was cold and we had visited the main shops.
"See you guys," I called out while the trio parted to make their way to the Gryffindor common room.
"Bye!" they all yelled back.
Once they were out of sight, I handed Draco the love potion and started laughing once more.
"What do you want with this anyway?"
"Just good to have," he plainly said.
"Who do you plan on using it on?"
"I'm not sure yet, we'll see."
I nodded confusedly at him and we went to the common room with stomachs filled with butterbeer and candy.
"I've got to go!" Draco suddenly told me as we were about to sit down of the Slytherin sofa.
"Where?"
"Snape," he quickly said.
"I'm coming!" I decided without his consent.
I followed him out of the common room and into Snape's classroom. Snape was propped up professionally at his desk, staring at a picture when we arrived. Once he saw us he shoved the picture back into his desk drawer and gestured for us to come inside from the doorway.
"What are you two doing here?" He dragged out his words as he spoke.
"Happy birthday," Draco muttered.
"Oh — happy birthday, sir," I caught on.
"Thank you Draco, Ms. L/n."
He gave the slightest smile that ultimately made me believe in happiness. If this old depressed teacher could smile, than anyone could.
I pulled out a pumpkin pastie from my pocket and tossed to to Snape. He caught it and I could see a flicker in his eyes. Draco hurried out of the room after saying goodbye and I followed after him. He stopped right outside the hall when we saw someone gaining ground near us.
Dumbledore was in the hall, scurrying to the potions room. He gave us a quick hello and zipped into the potions classroom.
Draco grabbed my waist and pulled me towards the door, placing my ear against the wood to listen alongside him.
"Severus, what's wrong?" Dumbledore generously asked as Snape called him in for a problem.
"Lily used to give me pumpkin pasties," he croaked.
"Severus, she is not Lily. Enjoy your birthday," he advised.
"Y/n probably hates that I am rough to Harry." Snape broke the uncomfortable silence between himself and Dumbledore.
"She is not Lily," Dumbledore repeated.
"I know!"
A wave of sadness washed over me and I couldn't bear to listen anymore. I walked away from Draco and the potions door and rushed to my room to think about the things I just heard.
Do I remind Snape of Lily Potter? Why would he care about Harry's mom?
Questions wracked my brain and it just aided me in becoming even more confused than I had previously been.
Draco sprinted after me and he found his way into my dorm while I laid down, skipping dinner that was occurring at the moment.
"I don't know what that was," Draco notified me, laying down next to me on my bed, similar to the events of last night.
"I don't know either but Snape was upset," I sadly stated.
"I've never seen him upset." Draco sighed.
"Goodnight, Malfoy."
"You don't want dinner?"
"No, I'm still full on candy. I just need some rest, it's been a long day."
"Are you really going to sleep?"
I grinned. "No."
"I suppose I could sit here and keep you company," he said as if it was a burden.
"What are you going to do here?"
"I don't know write a song?" He chuckled.
"Let's write a love song," I suggested seriously.
"How about 'love me love me, say that you love me.'"
"Justin Bieber is growing on you," I began.
"I know. How about 'I like this girl.'"
I laughed. "And?"
"Then we can say 'her h/c hair flows in the wind."
"You're really terrible at this, you know?"
"No I'm not. Now it's time to sing."
"I can't sing."
"Everyone can sing, that doesn't mean you'll be good."
"I'm not singing," I finalized.
"You sing Justin Bieber around me but not a song that we just took time to write?" he confusedly questioned.
"Yes and I'm actually becoming tired. Go eat dinner, Malfoy," I suggested.
I pulled a blanket over me and closed my eyes while Draco jumped up and headed down for an amazing feast.
