《Blood to Love | 3rd year》10- Divination, Draco, and Dates

I awoke in the morning a bit late with a bittersweet feeling lingering within my own body.

First of all, I let Draco impact my emotions. After all he has done to me, when will I ever learn to stop caring what he says? Secondly, I was excited for my second date with Ron this afternoon, though he said it was a surprise as to where he was taking me.

I noticed that Pansy and Daphne had already left the dorm; they were already finishing breakfast, as they woke up at a decent time. I threw off my night clothes and put my school robes on. I then brushed my teeth and styled my hair. Slipping on my shoes, I then grabbed my tie. The dorm room suddenly burst open and I nearly had a heart attack.

"You look delightful," Blaise joked.

"Hi Blaise," I croaked with my raspy morning voice.

"Someone's tired."

Draco just walked in the door behind Blaise. I groaned and went back to tying my tie. I was feeling pressured as they sat there and watched, causing me to continue messing up.

"Today is the day!" Blaise said excited.

I sighed. "What day?"

"Well if you help us out with Hermione, Draco will be nice to you for one day. Today is the day!" he repeated.

"Oh really?" I smirked, as I recalled last night and his evil behavior.

"Yes, but you have to put in a good word for Hermione," Blaise urged.

"Yes, fine. If Draco is gonna be so nice to me, let's start with him tying my tie."

"Abusing your power, hm?" Draco asked.

I simply nodded and he walked over to me, grabbed my tie, and started wrapping it around my neck and pulling the string into loops to form a knot. He was so close to me, eyebrows furrowed, and looking very concentrated. He stepped a little closer and I could feel his chest moving up and down as he took more breaths than usual.

"There you go, love," he teased, walking away and roaming around my area of the room, looking at all of my possessions.

"You did it terribly."

"I can't tie," he responded. "Have you seen mine?"

His tie was lazily wrapped around his neck. I scoffed and grabbed my bag full of school necessities. I walked into the bathroom, sprayed some perfume on myself, and walked back out. The two boys were sitting on my bed waiting for me to come out. They looked like small first years on a bench waiting for their moms. It was sort of cute, to be honest.

"Alright, come on boys."

I grinned as they obeyed my orders.

I walked in the middle of the two as though they were my body guards. I had awoke much too late to go to breakfast so I departed from Draco and walked with Blaise straight to Divination.

Today we got to stare into large glass orbs that formed a smoky white gas in the center. I stared into the glossy ball and saw absolutely nothing. Others were giggling and informing their friends as to what they saw.

"Blaise, are we supposed to be seeing something?" I asked.

"I assume we are. I can't see anything though," he replied.

Blaise and I wrote random things onto our parchment that questioned what we saw.

"What'd you write Blaise?"

"'I see a small white owl fluttering around this room,'" he read from his paper. "What'd you write?"

"I said: 'I see a small brown deer running around near the forbidden forest,'" informing him as I reading off of my paper.

Trewlany walked to our round table and asked us what we saw.

"I saw a white owl in this divination classroom," Blaise said uncertainly.

"My dear boy, that was just a reflection from the glass; there is a white owl behind you," she replied softly. Most of the class overheard this, laughed, and watched as Blaise covered his face with his hands.

"Hello dear, what did you see?" Trewlany questioned while staring into my soul.

"Well — er — I saw a deer roaming around near the forbidden forest," I stated nervously.

"Interesting. This could mean that your soulmate is in the form of a doe or stag, or possibly enemies of one." she commented warily.

Professor Trewlany stalked off to interrogate the next table.

"What was that about?" I whispered to Blaise.

"I have no idea, I thought what you said was fake!" he replied looking worried.

"It was!"

"Let's get out of here," Blaise said as soon as the bell rang, both confused by Trewlany's words.

During our free period, we ran into the common room and finished the small Divination assignment using our textbooks once again, as we didn't pay attention in class.

"I'm done," I said, bored out of my mind.

"Same, let's go pick your outfit for the date with Ron," Blaise proposed.

Draco entered the common room right as Blaise finished that sentence and decided to be nosy and join in on the conversation.

"Ahh, L/n, you've got a date tonight?" he asked.

"Yes I do. Now I'd like to go pick out an outfit."

"I'll join you. Only because I'm feeling like such a nice person today."

I ignored him and jogged up the stairs to my dorm with the two boys behind me. Once I entered, I aggressively rummaged through my closet and couldn't find anything.

"Blaise I have no clothes," I groaned, throwing a pile of hung up clothes on the floor.

I looked over at them with puppy eyes as they sat on the edge on my bed, feet on the floor with dark eyes, and internally judging my last spoken sentence.

"You have tons, now move," Blaise stated while shoving me away. I stumbled back on my bed and sat there silently next to Draco.

Blaise used his wand, organized the closet back to its original state and swiped through each article and observed it.

"Are you guys serious?" Draco grumbled from the bed. "You," he started pointing at me, " just destroyed your whole closet and still found nothing."

"So what —" I began just to be interrupted.

"And you," he began pointing at Blaise in disbelief, "you, my friend, are going through every article of clothing in there; this is going to take hours."

"What's the problem?" Blaise's asked, though muffled due to sticking his face so deep in the closet.

"Get away from there." Draco shoved Blaise out of the closet and onto the bed next to me.

Draco stood there, rummaged through the closet, raised his eyebrows at some dresses and shirts, and pulled out an oversized crewneck and ripped jeans.

"You want me to wear that?" I asked, surprised that he could pull out an outfit that quickly.

"Yes, you said Ron never told you where he was going. It's comfortable but still cute," he said, grimacing at the last word.

"I never expected Draco Malfoy to pick my outfit, but I suppose it works."

"You're welcome," he grunted while sitting back on my bed and throwing me the clothes.

"Yeah, thanks, Malfoy."

I rolled my eyes at him and laid back on my bed sideways, feet dangling.

Blaise and Draco turned to me and I could sense them staring as I laid there closing my eyes.

"I suppose it's time for Care of Magical Creatures," I assumed, breaking the content silence.

After that I stood up, placed the clothes neatly on my bed, and walked out of my dorm. We walked outside with coats, as it was slowly starting to become winter. We trudged through the dewy grass and made our way to the edge of the forbidden forest. We even talked more about hippogriffs in class and Hagrid even sniffled a couple times after recalling Buckbeak's soon departure with the world.

Class went by very slow but soon enough it was time for lunch. I sat with Hermione during lunch and across from Ron, with Harry next to him.

"Are you excited for our date tonight?" Ron asked giddily.

"I suppose, but as you won't tell me what it is, I really can't decide if I am excited or more scared for what you have planned."

He grinned.

We all chatted for the remainder of lunch and I headed to Muggle Studies for a quiz on Muggle appliances. I only got two questions incorrect on the quiz and called it a success.

Once the class period was over I headed to transfiguration, excited to abuse my overbearing power over Draco. After I sat down and he sat next to me, I started the enslaved house elf treatment.

"Draco could you pass me a quill? I don't feel like rummaging through my bag," I requested while grinning.

"Here," he said, irritated while handing me a quill and an ink tray along with it.

McGonagall shifted in her seat, as she had just saw Draco refrain from verbally abusing me in class. She was sure to be worried about those five galleons, even if she didn't admit it to Professor Snape.

Class went by slow as can be as I attempted — and failed drastically — to transfigure a drinking goblet into a ring. Most of the class couldn't quite figure it out and when the bell rang, we were eager to leave.

"No homework this afternoon unless you have any missing essays or worksheets that you have yet to turn in," McGonagall called out as we all exited the room.

I ran to my dorm, dressed in the surprisingly stylish clothes Draco picked out, and walked to the Gryffindor common room. I arrived at the portrait hole and said the new password given to me by Ron: "flibbertigibbet." The lady's portrait swung open and I entered the vibrant common room, wondering where the trio was. As I looked around the room and finally spotted them, a smile formed on my face.

Ron, Hermione, and Harry were sitting around the couch, warming up by the fire and waiting for my arrival. Ron was wearing a slightly oversize sweater that most likely, once again, belonged to either Fred or George. I walked over to them, awkwardly lifted my hand to wave, and waited for someone to say something.

"Wow — you look — er — bloody good," Ron finally said after a few seconds of him scoping me up and down.

"Thank you," I gushed.

"Well if you both are ready, I suspect you should get going," Hermione urged.

"Oh — right," Ron said nervously.

"Bye Hermione, Harry," I said waving and grinning at them.

Hermione smiled and waved and Harry called out, "Have fun!" He was very similar to a Muggle mom sending her only daughter off for a first date.

Ron led me out of the common room, hand in hand, and brought us to the edge of the black lake. A couple of blankets were laid upon the ground and a large basket was sitting on top of them, full of snacks and drinks. There was also a small projector that looked stolen from one of the classrooms, having multiple slides with various pictures in it.

Ron gestured for me to sit down as I gaped at the beautifully set up date. I took a seat next to him and we dug into the basket of treats and chatted away.

"Ron you didn't have to do all of this," I said in awe.

"But I did. Chicken wing?" he asked.

I laughed and took the chicken wing from his hand. He grabbed his wand, flicked the revolving projector and on the screen in front of us, flashed dozens of pictures of Ron and I laughing and doing random activities within the school.

"Ron how did you get this?" I gasped.

"I've been asking house elves to follow us around with a camera and take photos of when we are happy together or whenever we are doing something together." he replied shyly.

"That's bloody brilliant!" I squealed while wrapping him into a long hug, to which I heard him sigh a large breath of relief, most likely expecting it to feel sort of creepy.

"This is amazing I can't believe you did this."

I smiled, pulling away from the hug and gazing into his eyes.

"Always," Ron replied and we laughed the rest of the night until he pulled me away for another feast: Hogwarts dinner.
