I wake up with Layla in my arms and a smile graces my face, she looks so peaceful, sleeping. Today I'm leaving, to go back to the pack. I've been gone now for roughly 5 days, and since I'm the beta the pack needs me. And I'll be able to research mates, but that also means that I'll be leaving Layla for God knows how long. But she isn't mine, I may like her but that doesn't mean we are together or anything.

"What's got you thinking so hard?" Layla asks snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, just about when I'm leaving and.....you" I reply say the last part quietly, not really wanting her to hear it.

"Oh yeah I forgot that we won't see each other again for a while. Um Liam?" Layla asks cautiously

"Yeah?" I ask

"Well um, did you say that you were thinking about me?" Layla asks nervously

"Oh....um...yeah" I reply rubbing my neck, awkwardly.

"What about me?" She asks gaining confidence

"Just about me missing you, and I was going to do some research when I got back to the pack about our connection" I inform her

"Awww, that's so sweet" She coos, giggling

"Hey, don't make fun of me. It's mean" I pout, pretending to be offended.

"Oh I'm sorry baby, do you want a make up kiss?" She laughs

Yes! Well kind of, okay I do want a kiss. But I can't tell her that, she'll think I'm crazy. We only just met 2 days ago, and I already want a kiss. What is wrong with me! Wait can't she read minds, what if she's reading my mind right now and already knows I want to kiss her! I'm just freaking myself out, Layla doesn't read people's minds for fun.....right?

"Liam? Are you okay?" Layla asks gently

"Oh! What, yeah" I say stupidly

"You never answered my question" She grins

"About the make up kiss?" I ask confused

"Yeah" She replies in a 'duh' tone

"Okay" I answer

"Really?" She asks slightly shocked

"Uh huh" I grin stupidly

I move my head lower since I'm on my elbows and Layla isn't. She looks up at me nervously, but still leans in. It feels like forever but eventually our lips meet, it's a simple sweet kiss not a french kiss or anything like that, but it's still amazing. We soon break apart for air, and Red howls proudly when he sees Layla's flustered, blushing face. I probably don't look any better though, I've never actually had a proper romantic kiss. Sure I had 'girlfriends' in high school, but it's not like we were serious, so I've never had a kiss with so much emotion in it.

"Wow" I breath

"That was amazing" Layla smiles

"Yeah, it was" I agree

"So, I'm going to get ready, and pack up so I can leave soon" I say

"Oh, right okay." Layla says disappointed

Layla helps me clean up the food mess we made last night, and pack my clothes and belongings. We dance and sing to music, while doing so and we look like crazy people. Oh well, some things can't be helped. Then I head to her room, to help her and keep her company. After brunch, we go for a quick swim then change, meeting back together to bid farewell.

"So I guess it's goodbye" Layla says looking down

"Nah, it's just see you later" I correct

"Yeah, but when will we see each other?" She asks anxiously

"Well I have your number and you have my number, we can organise something" I explain

"Yeah I guess so. Well then see you later Prince Charming" She says lightly

"See you later Princess" I reply embracing her tightly

I wave goodbye then we go our separate ways, I hop into my car and drive off. A few minutes in I hear a; *Ding* A message..... My car can read my messages out for me, so I can drive.
