《Whispers ~ Dream SMP War x Reader》Part 30

"What the hell?" Dream muttered, the same thought racing through my head.

White sparks dripped from my hand, sizzling against the rain. I briefly remembered from my dream with Neomi that she had told me that I had unfound magic, but it shocked me. It literally shocked me, lighting now dancing on my hand.

I raised it up towards my face, streaks of electricity racing up and down my arm. The magic felt foreign but powerful. It slowly merged with my magic, pulling on it. I could feel the electricity running through the clouds and the pull of the rain falling to the ground.

With a swift tug, lightning streaked down from the sky, connecting with my hand. Dream didn't move, still holding my hand. We both watched in awe as I held the light in my grasp, "Well, I hadn't been expecting this."

"Me neither." Dream shook his head, the lightning reflecting in his eyes. In a way it made sense. I had always loved rain and thunderstorms more than anything else, and there always seemed to be more rain when I wanted it. Maybe the storm magic had been working quietly within me all this time.

"You know, we're basically invincible now." I smiled at him, releasing my grip on the lighting. It disappeared, throwing us back into the dark.

He chuckled, facing me, "Yeah, you're right."

Any anger or fear that had bubbled inside of me before, disappeared. A new feeling washed over me, something along the lines of satisfaction and joy. I felt powerful, powerful enough to destroy Schlatt.

We turned, walking towards home, our hands still intertwined. The high from the new power was passing, bringing me back down to earth. A question popped into my head, prompting me to turn to Dream, "So when we defeat Schlatt and the darkness, will you remain a god?"

His head bobbed, "Yes. The rest of my immortal life will be spent as one of them, a demi-god you could say." He smiled at me, his eyes twinkling, "Maybe you could stay with me for the rest of that time?"

I laughed, "And how would we do that? I'm not immortal like you."

Dream shrugged, facing forwards once more, "You never know."

I shook my head, amusement decorating my face. I left the questions about our future for later, sinking down in my joy. Warmth and electricity filled me up, crackling sounds faintly happening around me.

A few moments of comfortable silence passed, the rain beginning to slow. Dream kept his eyes forward but his face tilted towards me slightly, "I think it's best that we don't tell anyone about this yet."

I nodded, lost in thought. "What are we going to do if Tommy and Wilbur win?" Obviously, I still cared for Tommy and Tubbo, and I would do anything for them. But if they put another government in place, creating a nation that we fought to destroy, I wouldn't be able to support them.

I suddenly thought about what I had just agreed to. I hoped that what I had just done wouldn't lead to either of the boys or my friends getting hurt.

Dream pulled me out of my thoughts, smirking, "We don't have to worry about that. They aren't going to win."

I wondered what he had in mind, just shaking my head once more. "If we can't tell anyone about this, can we at least show our friends my new power?" Excitement filled up inside of me.

Dream nodded, smiling at my excitement. We reached the base, thunder rumbling out around us. "I'll go grab them." He stepped away from me, heading inside. He looked over his shoulder, winking, "Show 'em what you've got."

"Dream, where's y/n?" Sapnap said somewhere in front of me.

George's voice echoed his, "Can we go back inside? I don't want to stand in the cold." He whined, the rain coming down harder on him. He groaned as I stifled a laugh after calling the rain to fall harder.

"Just wait a moment, I think something's about to happen." Dream's voice sounded amused, not minding the rain at all. He was already soaked to the bone, so not much more rain could bother him.

Our friends made confused sounds, looking around at the dark clearing. I was stood behind a tree, using the shadows to hide.

I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I tunneled into my well of magic, grasping at the electrical current that ran through the clouds. I gripped my sword in my hand, holding it out to the side.

I stepped out from where I stood, going into the center of the clearing. If my friends were talking, I didn't hear them, only hearing the crackling of electricity. I wrapped my magic around a stream of power, bringing it down to where I stood.

A streak of lighting arched down from the clouds, coming down directly behind me. It sent streaks racing through the grass like a spiderweb. Strands raced out away from me, nipping at the green grass. My sword lit up, lightning wrapping around the dark material.

The world around us lit up for a moment, illuminating my friends' faces in front of me. Sapnap, Karl, and George's faces mirrored each other's mouths agape and a sparkle in their eyes. Dream watched me fondly, pride in his eyes.

I called the electricity back in, dead grass replacing the green parts. Long brown snakes of grass were left in the power's wake. When the lighting disappeared, darkness took its place once more from the night.

The air crackled around me, silence following my actions. I glanced up at the sky, making the rain slow to a soft mist. Rain dripped from my hair and clothes, dropping down to the grass.

I looked up at my friends, smiles now on their faces. They ran up to me, giddiness in their step. They talked over each other, gasping and questioning what just happened in awe. They watched the sparks at my fingertips like little kids at Christmas.

I glanced over them, smiling at Dream.

After I had calmed my friends down, answering their questions, we had all gone inside and changed out of our wet clothes. I settled in next to them, keeping Dream and I's secrets to myself. I held them in the space behind my heart, locked away for the moment.

The next morning, there was a rapid knock on the front door, followed by a small argument. I groaned, tugging the covers up to my neck. Someone else could get the door.

The knocking continued, persistently keeping me from falling back asleep. I threw the covers back, earning a dark look from the dog that had been asleep next to me. I gave him an apologetic look, walking up towards the front door.

I threw the front door open, trying to keep my grumpiness in check. The argument paused, the four boys staring at me.

In the pale light of morning, Quackity and Tommy stood towards the front of the group, clearly the two that were arguing. Tubbo stood to Tommy's right, a sympathetic look on his face. Wilbur stood behind them, arms crossed, his eyes barely open.

"What are you all doing here, this early in the morning?" I stifled a yawn, rubbing a hand down my face. There were silent, glancing between each other. I gave them a pointed look, "Is someone going to tell me?"

When no one said anything, Wilbur sighed, stepping forward. He put his hands in his jacket's pockets, "We came to ask you if you would accompany us to Manberg to scam Jschlatt."

I looked between the group, arching a brow, "Why me? Schlatt hates me."

Tommy looked up at Wilbur, looking back at me, "We need your protection in case things go south. You're one of the best fighters we know and you're someone who would be willing to help us."

I glanced at Quackity, a silent plea in his eyes. I contemplated it for a moment, the consequences weighing in my head. I came to the conclusion that nothing truly horrible could come from it. I nodded my head, "Alright, I'll go with you. But I have to grab some things inside and then I'll be right out."

Tommy's eyes brightened, as I turned to head back inside. Before I closed the door, I heard Tubbo mutter an 'I told you so' to his friends. I smiled, rolling my eyes, heading to grab my sword.

-

As we walked to the nation, I opened up my magic to the plants around me. I felt each plant savoring last night's rain, drinking it all up. I let it lift me up, adding some pep to my step.

We had dropped Tubbo off back at Pogtopia, Tommy and I determining that it wasn't the best idea to have the boy near the president. Tubbo agreed with us, happily wandering back into the ravine to go collect supplies with Techno.

Our small group walked briskly through the woods, not talking much. Big Q was gripping a book, flipping through the pages quickly. I broke the silence, coming over to peer at the book, "So how are you planning to scam Schlatt?"

Quackity looked up at me, closing the book. He angled the cover of the book towards me, the words, Official Manberg Hotel Building Permit, across the front. I looked up at the boy in confusion, "I'm going to convince Schlatt to sign this 'building permit'," He paused, giving me a sly look, "and when he signs it, he'll be signing all his power over me."

I laughed at the look on his face, his face dissolving into amusement as well. When I glanced at the book in his hands again, there was a small shake in his hands. I could imagine he was scared, after all, Schlatt had not treated his old friend well.

Tommy came over, clapping his hands together, "We're going to scam the shit out of him!" I laughed again, Quackity's laugh echoing mine.

I glanced slightly behind us, an uneasy feeling filling me as Wilbur walked casually. He hadn't said anything since we had left, staying slightly behind us the entire time. My magic shied away from him, putting me on edge.

I turned back around, facing the nation before us. I spotted Schlatt immediately, a small stream of smoke floating up from his cigarette. He walked around the podium lazily, staring out at the nation below him.

I heard Quackity take a small, shaky breath as he stared at the horned man. I could feel the nerves coming off in waves. I put a hand on his shoulder, reassuring him, "It'll be alright Quackity. I didn't forget my promise, I won't let him hurt you." I gave him a comforting smile, "Just be yourself."

He took a deep breath, nodding. He put a wide smile on his face, stepping towards the podium. Tommy, Wilbur, and I laid down to stay hidden, watching from a distance.

We were close enough to hear their conversation, Quackity coming up behind the president, "Hey Schlatt!" His voice came out confidently, sauntering up to face the horned man.

The latter turned, giving the boy an annoyed look, "What do you want? I'm still angry with you."

Quackity widened his smile, "Listen, we can fix things," He pulled his book up, "I have a gift for you."

Schlatt glanced at it, moving his eyes to stare back out at the nation. He sighed, rolling his eyes, "Let's just get this over with." He flicked his cigarette off the podium, flinging it into the grass.

If Quackity was hurting at all from this, he hid it well. His amusing mask didn't falter, opening the book to look at the pages, "You'll sign this book..."

Wilbur began to move slightly, drawing my attention. Tommy placed a hand on his brother's arm, keeping him down, "Give him time, Wil."

I glanced at Tommy, confusion apparent on my face. Wilbur sighed, looking over to me, "Since no one cared to tell you, if this plan falls through, I'll blow up Manberg." He gave me a feral smile, his eyes wandering back to the two on the podium.

I bit back on the small amount of fear that arose with his words, keeping my eyes on Quackity. My voice was serious when I spoke, "Wilbur give him a chance. It'll work, and if not," I looked over to him, not keeping the bite out of my tone, "you better not blow it up."

I could feel his glare, but I ignored him, watching their interactions on the podium. I gripped my sword as Schlatt stepped towards Quackity, "We're good! Let's get this shit on the road."

Quackity smiled, handing the book over to the president. Schlatt skimmed through the first few pages, reading the information about the permit. Schlatt lazily looked away, staring at the throne.

Even from here, I could see the red that was stained on the seat. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tommy grimace, eyeing the blood. Schlatt though, smiled, walking towards it. Quackity followed him, struggling to keep the smile on his face.

Schlatt chuckled, "Remember this was where I almost killed Tubbo?"

Quackity nervously laughed, averting his eyes from the seat, "Yeah."

Schlatt sighed, a smile still on his lips, "That was fun." He paused, his face darkening, "Until that girl, y/n, ruined it all."

The boy ignored the last bit, pulling out a pen from his hoodie, "Just sign it Schlatt, so we can start this hotel."

The horned man sighed, a slight fog beginning to ripple around him. I kept my eyes on my friend, ready to run and protect Quackity. The man took the pen, ready to sign when he paused. "What's at the end of this book?"

Quackity smiled, "Nothing. Just some blank pages." He cracked his knuckles, nervously.

The movement went unnoticed by the president. He seemed to contemplate something for a moment, before bringing his pen above the page. He was about to sign, pausing to look up at the boy, "You know, I noticed something yesterday. I was finishing up destroying the White House when I saw a hole under it,"

Quackity tensed slightly, taking a small step back from the man. Schlatt stared at the page, continuing, "I think there were some explosives under it."

His dark eyes looked up at the boy, Quackity struggling for words, "I have no idea what that's about." There was a shake in his voice, his mask cracking. He began to laugh nervously, glancing up at where we laid.

Schlatt's voice was joking when he spoke again, "Isn't funny that I found those things after our little breakup?" His voice began to rise, "Why did you plant those there, huh Quackity?"

The boy backed away, bumping into the fence on the podium, "It wasn't me! I didn't put those there!"

I glanced at Tommy, who was watching Wilbur with concern on his face. Wilbur's face had turned serious, watching what was unfolding in front of us. I tensed, Schlatt taking a step towards Quackity.

When he didn't stop stepping towards him, I moved. I listened to Schlatt yell, "I'm not signing this shit! I know what you're doing!" Quackity stared up at him, trying to tell him no. The president didn't listen, only raising his fist, throwing it towards the boy's face.

Before it collided with Quackity, his fist suddenly stopped. Schlatt stared at his fist, anger beginning to twist his features.

I scowled at Schlatt, gripping his fist in my hand. I was standing in front of my friend, shielding him from the president. I practically growled at Schlatt, "Don't you dare touch him."

The horned man pulled his fist back, stepping away from us. The fog around him began to grow darker, anger pouring from him. I glanced over my shoulder at Quackity, whispering, "Run. Wilbur and Tommy should be waiting in the woods for you."

Quackity shook his head, "I won't go that far without you. If I'm running so are you."

I smiled at him, letting it dissolve as I faced the man in front of me. Schlatt pulled out his sword, aggression clearly in his stance. I smirked at him, pulling out my sword, "You wanna go, goat boy?"

He snarled at me, his eyes no longer human, "You bitch. You ruined everything."

I smiled at him, nothing but venom in it, "Sorry, darling, but I'm no one's toy to use." I took a step towards him, lifting my head, "You are nothing to me. I will never, ever, be yours again." My voice was rising in volume, now closer to him.

He lashed out at that, swinging his sword towards me. I smirked, moving out of his way with ease. Although he was taller and stronger than me, I had better agility and training. Schlatt was using raw hatred and fury to fight me, while I had years of training on my side.

I danced to the side, keeping my sword raised. Quackity moved behind me, getting closer to the exit off the podium. As Schlatt swung in a wide arc, I moved under his blade. I popped up behind him, swinging at his arm. I caught his arm, ripping through his sleeve.

Before he could even react, I moved, racing towards where Quackity stood. I heard Schlatt swear, running after us, "Come back here!"

I pushed wind at our heels, pushing us. Tommy stood at the edge of the spruce forest, beckoning us forward, "Let's go, let's go!" I noticed, Wilbur was missing but I ignored him. I would deal with him after Schlatt.

We made it to him, turning to run further into the forest. Quackity said in between breaths, "He knows! He knows about the explosives!"

Somewhere behind us, Schlatt was crashing through the forest, snapping twigs, "You didn't think I wouldn't chase after you?" His voice was rough, from running and yelling.

I could hear the two boys begin to pant, their running slowing. I pushed the wind harder, whipping a few strands of my hair forward. We made it to the oak forest, Schlatt's noises further away.

"Quackity, if you're running back to Pogtopia, I wouldn't do it if I were you!"

Schlatt's words made us all pause, turning back to where he emerged from the spruce forest. I stepped in front of the two boys, raising my sword. The president bent over, struggling for air after running.

When he was able to breathe, he stood, wheezing, "Because guess what I did with the TnT big man!"

Quackity stared at the man, anger, and fear on his face, "What did you do with it?"

Schlatt's face darkened, a feral smile forming on his face, "I moved all of the explosives to Pogtopia."
