Later that night, after Sapnap and George had gone to bed, I was left alone with Dream. I was cuddled up next to him, focusing on keeping my eyes open. Ghost, who had freaked out when he discovered I was back, was now lounging across me.

My eyes closed for a moment, but Ghost nudged my hand, wanting to be pet. I opened my eyes, running my hand lazily across him. I leaned my head on Dream's shoulder.

I glanced at the book in Dream's hand, "Why are you reading about cats?"

Dream glanced over at me, surprise in his voice, "Oh I thought you were asleep." His face softened, giving me a loving look, "I need to show you something." He set down the book, standing. He held out his hand for me to take.

I scooted out from Ghost, earning a small bark. I pat him on the head, taking Dream's hand. I called Ghost to my side, walking hand in hand with Dream. We walked towards the rooms, Sapnap's snores echoing against the stone walls.

We reached Dream's room, walking into the dark room. It looked the exact same as mine, but weapons and armor littered his room. He released my hand, kneeling down to look under his bed. He started making smooching noises, causing me to laugh.

"Dream what are you doing?" I questioned amusingly, watching him in wonder. He didn't respond, only beckoning me over. I shook my head, a smile on my lips, kneeling down next to him.

I peeked under the bed, seeing two green eyes staring back at me. Dream beckoned to the animal, opening his arms for it. It glanced between me and him, cautiously moving towards the man.

When it slinked out from it's hiding spot, a small brown cat now sat on Dream's lap. The man beamed at the cat in affection, petting her. She had a tabby pattern, a small white spot on her face.

I reached my hand out slowly, letting her lean forward and sniff my hand. Her whiskers tickled my fingers as she inspected my hand, then she pushed her head into my hand. She was clearly a very friendly cat, but I wasn't sure how she would be with a dog.

Ghost sat in the hallway, staring at the cat with curiosity. I gave him a look that told him to stay, turning my attention back to the feline. I pet her head, leaning my head on Dream's shoulder, "What's her name?"

"Patches," He watched me pet his new friend, "I found her in the woods when we moved here after it wasn't safe to go home. She was filthy and hungry, so I took her in. She didn't like me after the bath, but she warmed up to the three of us."

He laughed as the cat crawled into my lap, "And she is clearly already warming up to you." He glanced at Ghost in the hallway, "Her and Ghost have been introduced already, but they are still getting used to each other."

I stared into her green eyes, "Hello, Patches. You're very pretty, aren't ya girl?" She began to purr, curling up on me. Her purr filled me with warmth, almost putting me to sleep.

Dream laughed at the two of us, standing. He lifted the cat and me into his bed, laying me down. He tucked the blanket over me, Patches curling up next to me. He called Ghost into the room, letting him lay on the ground. He turned out the light, laying down next to me.

He curled around me, laying an arm protectively over me while resting his hand on Patches.

I closed my eyes, letting Patches' purrs lull me to sleep.

"Do you want to go to Pogtopia today, y/n?"

The four of us were sitting at the island in the kitchen, finishing up breakfast. Ghost sat at my side, begging for crumbs. Patches sat on the island, doing the same thing. I caved breaking off a small piece of bacon for both of them.

"Definitely." I looked over at George and Sapnap, "What will you two do today?"

Sapnap grinned, putting his arm around the other, "I'm gonna teach Georgie how to do that trick Dream was teaching me."

George rolled his eyes, continuing to eat his breakfast. I laughed, their dynamic was always amusing to watch, "I thought you couldn't do it, George? Cause you're colorblind and all."

He ignored me, but there was a small smile on his lips.

We finished breakfast, Dream and I said our goodbyes before stepping outside. Puffy, white clouds floated through the sky, a lazy breeze moving them along. It kissed my face, making me smile. It was the first time I had gotten to enjoy being outside in a while.

As we walked towards the base, Dream and I teased each other, talking about unimportant things. It felt good to be back with him, he filled a space in my heart.

When we neared the base, Dream tugged his mask on, making me frown. His unmasked lips quirked into a smile at my pouty face.

I walked down the stairs that led into the ravine, stopping to look at scribbling on the wall. Almost to the bottom, on the wall, someone had written,

Tommy and Tubbo have been here!

The handwriting differed, the unneat one clearly belonging to Tommy. I laughed, moving into the ravine. I hadn't been able to admire the place before, due to being utterly exhausted and worrying about Tubbo.

Speaking of, as we walked down the steps, Tubbo came bounding out of a room, followed by an irritated Tommy. The first was laughing, racing away from the latter. He paused, not because of me, but because of the person behind me.

"Y/n?" Tubbo questioned, fear taking over his features. His smile disappeared, backing up to where Tommy was now standing. The boy still thought I was locked away in Schlatt's grip. He had been too out of it before to realize it was me carrying him.

I didn't move, not wanting to scare him more. "Tubbo, it's me. I'm back to normal, it's okay."

Before I could even finish the sentence, the boy was racing towards me. I stumbled back a bit as he embraced me. He squeezed me, as if he were afraid when he let go I would be gone. I wrapped my arms around him.

"How are you feeling?"

He didn't lean back, but mumbled into my shoulder. "Better, thanks to you."

I pulled him into a side hug, walking towards Tommy. Dream stayed on the bottom step, a hand on his sword. I smirked at his protectiveness, but Tommy was doing the same thing. He watched Dream like a hawk, a hand also on the sword at his side.

"And how are you feeling Tommy?" I asked him, his eyes shifting to me.

He looked better, the bags under his eyes now gone. His blue eyes shone a little brighter.

"I'm fine, woman." His amusing personality had returned, probably because of the boy that now wrapped around me. "But I'm not so sure about Wil." He lowered his voice, glancing over his shoulder.

Wilbur came out of the room the boys were just in, his eyes glancing around quickly. Unlike the boys, he seemed to have gotten worse. There were dark circles under his eyes, which were also bloodshot.

Despite his looks, he had a disturbing smile plastered on his face.

He walked in hurried steps, his eyes finally landing on me. "Ah, y/n, Dream, just the people I wanted to see!" His voice sounded rough. He no longer seemed like the proud leader of a new nation.

Dream stepped closer to me, "Hey Wilbur."

"Could I talk to you?" Wilbur glanced at me but quickly moved it back to the man behind me. I turned slightly, watching as Dream hesitantly nodded. He angled his mask at me, I nodded, walking towards Tommy.

Tommy led me towards the room, Tubbo moving to walk next to his best friend. I'm glad they were together again, they were two halves to a whole. They led me into a room that held a large farm. I took care to not step onto potatoes, following the two.

They sat down on the edge of the room, indicating for me to do the same. I sat, "So what's going on with Wil?" I made sure to keep my voice quiet, not wanting him to overhear.

Tommy glanced behind me quickly before returning his gaze to me, "He hasn't been the same since the election. He was okay in the beginning but then he just started to go downhill."

Tubbo nodded, "He seems to have gotten worse ever since I've been here. And I have only been here for two days."

Tommy continued, "He wants to blow up L'manburg."

A small shock ran through me. Wilbur loved his nation, he had worked so hard to build it. Why did he want to destroy it?

I beckoned for him to continue, "At the festival, he was going to do it. But he couldn't find the button and the ... event happened." He glanced at Tubbo, fear showing slightly, "With the walls coming down, Fundy turning on him, it's just destroyed him. He doesn't trust anyone anymore, not even me or his own twin."

I paused Tommy, "Twin?"

He stared at me as if I were dumb, "Yeah, Techno is his twin. Could you not tell?"

Well, obviously I couldn't tell. They didn't exactly look alike. From their hair color to contrasting personalities, I would never have guessed.

"Do you know why he wanted to talk to Dream?" I switched back to the problem at hand.

"No. He doesn't tell us anything anymore. He thinks we're the bad guys." Tommy's voice sounded small in the room. Tubbo leaned into him, closing his eyes.

Footsteps echoed behind me, entering the room. I twisted around, turning to see Techno enter the room. He stared at me, a hardness in his eyes. I imagined all he saw was the darkness from our fight. I never got the chance to properly introduce myself to him.

I stood, taking a step towards him, "Techno, I think I should properly introduce myself. I'm-"

"I know who you are." His monotone voice sounded flat.

"No, you don't. You met me when I wasn't myself. I imagine Tommy and Tubbo filled you in what was wrong with me?" A nod, "Well then, I'm y/n."

I reached my hand out, his large hand engulfing mine after a moment. We shook, pulling our hands back. It didn't seem like he was going to say anything after an awkward silence so I continued, "You're a really good fighter."

"Thanks." His face didn't change but there was a small spark in his eyes. Ah, so there was something I could talk to him about.

"Did you teach yourself?"

I watched as he turned, shrugging off his cape, "Yeah." He picked up a hoe, turning to the potatoes.

"Would you consider teaching me a few pointers?" I asked, grabbing another tool that was leaning against the wall. I followed him, watching as he moved some dirt. He leaned down, placing a few seeds into the ground.

"Maybe. You're not that bad. I could tell that even with the darkness, you are a good fighter." I was surprised at his response after not receiving long responses.

We continued to talk, warming up to each other. I started to really like him, from his obsession with potatoes to stories from when he was young. He told me stories with Wilbur and Tommy when they were children, and stories of battles. I listened, helping him farm potatoes.

When he let me talk, I told him about my powers and stories from before Schlatt. He contently listened, asking me questions when I talked about my magic. I could see a long friendship beginning to bloom between us.

By the time Dream came back into the room, I was dirty and tired, but happy. I had helped Techno finish his farm, earning a gracious nod from him. When he turned to Dream, there was a hint of recognition in his eyes, "Long time no see Dream."

"Hello Techno, it's been a while." He looked at me, "It seems you two have gotten to know each other." The other man nodded, turning his eyes to me.

"We'll have to catch up, Dream." He turned, placing the tool against the wall. He grabbed his cape, brushing past Dream to leave.

I turned to say goodbye to the boys, making sure Wilbur wasn't around, "I'll see you guys soon. If Wilbur so much as touches either of you, let me know." I showed them my bruised knuckles, "I'll take care of him."

They nodded, I hated that I had to threaten Wilbur but I wouldn't let the boys get hurt. Not again. Not while I have control once more.

-

We were walking home, the sun was long gone. The stars twinkled, shining brightly against the dark sky. I gazed up at them, watching them dance.

"So what did Wilbur have to talk to you about?" I turned my head to Dream, watching as his eyes twinkled from the stars.

"Oh, nothing." He was an awful liar.

"Dream." I gave him a pointed look.

"He wants me to help him blow up Manburg."

"And are you?"

"Maybe... I don't know. I need to weigh the pro and cons. I mean, we did fight in a war for the nation to be destroyed. And this would be my chance to get rid of it," He paused, glancing back up at the sky, "But, does it mess up our plan?"

I shrugged, letting his words circle through my head. He was right, since the beginning, we have been trying to get rid of L'manburg. And I know it would hurt Tommy and Tubbo, but they would heal. But if Schlatt found out Dream helped plot the end of Manburg, he may not trust him.

"I think if you were discreet about it, it could work. But in the end, it's up to you."

He nodded, turning his gaze back to me. We stopped walking, he pulled me into a hug. For some reason, it seemed desperate and sad. I hugged him tighter, hoping it would help him not feel that.

"Me and you till the end okay?" He mumbled into my hair, his voice having a hint of sorrow in it.

"Me and you until the end."
