Warning! Does mention blood and violence for one part, but not much other than that!
btw the end of this book was written while I listened to I'll Keep You Safe by Sleeping At Last, and it just fits it perfectly

Maybe it was a good thing that the fight had been chosen to fight on such a tall mountain.
The world was still small below me, trees in the shapes of dots, but it was approaching faster than I had been expecting.
DreamXD's arm was wrapped around my own, his cape flying behind us. We were both screaming, one shout less natural than the other.
Neon green blood flew behind us, leaking from DreamXD's void wing that he was helplessly trying to flap. The broken wing wouldn't respond, only being lifted from the wind rushing up at us.
I swung myself around so I was above the god, his freezing cold hand clutching my arm for dear life. When I moved, he looked up at me, giving up on his wing.
"" He screamed, the words being snatched in the freefall.
The demon had fully been released and it was no longer hiding behind its carefully crafted mask. Darkness and evilness leaked into his booming voice.
There was another twitch at my back, more urgent now. It sent a signal through my magic, ready to be released.
I eyed the nearing ground, the shapes of horses and wild animals larger now. I could barely make out the form of the branches in the trees.
It was time to put an end to him.
So I smirked at the god, who no longer had the upper hand and was holding onto me like I would save him. His white, cracked mask stared back at me and I got the feeling of a look of fury staring back at me.
I repeated my previous words in a chilling voice, "A dreamon can't fly without his wings."
And then, to the god's horror, I punched him square in the mask, pushing him further away from me. He shrieked, grasping for my hand as he got shoved down.
But I gave into that twinge at my back, pulling on the invisible strings that sew the world together.
Suddenly, I wasn't falling anymore and the wind didn't deafen my ears. It was peaceful for a second as birds chirped and a light breeze held me aloft.
A warmth spread across my back, making me turn my head away from DreamXD's falling form.
Expanding from my back were great fiery wings, their tips flapping to hold me up in the sky. The feathers were made of navy and purple fire, yet they looked soft, and the tips were gold and burning as bright as Noemi's halo.
They weren't like Tommy and Phil's light and delicate wings, these were like a phoenix's wings made of embers and pure fire.
I gasped, staring at the wings, my wings. I had thought, a few months ago, that I would never experience the feeling of flying like a bird, but I was dead wrong.
I knew I would lose them as soon as I landed, but for now, they had saved my life in their bright and burning glory.
DreamXD's scream brought my gaze back to his falling form. He was close to the ground now, unable to stop his descent even as he tried to summon shadows to catch himself, which only let him fall through.
I quickly turned my head away when there was a loud thump and his screaming was cut short. Silence resumed its position, twisting my heart like a knife in the gut.

Silently, I let my wings push me back towards the ground in gentle swoops. It was strange feeling the wind beneath my wings and the feeling of my body flying at all.
But the feelings of awe quickly disappeared when my feet touched the ground next to DreamXD's broken body. A nauseous feeling replaced it before being brushed away by my magic.
He was wheezing, the most humane sound I had ever heard from the god. His limbs were splayed in an unnatural position, clearly broken and fractured beyond repair as they lay in bright puddles.
That's not what caught my attention though.
A deep, halting fragment was cut in the D of his white mask. Cracks spread away from it like a spiderweb in dust and dirt.
Underneath the mask, there truly was a demon.
The darkness that had made up my dress when I was possessed and the color that had filled Dream and Schlatt's eyes was underneath, the light being sucked away from the liquid. It swirled and bubbled like it was alive.
Then, surfacing from the depths, bright red smiley faces swam and overlapped each other. They stared at me, forever frozen in a face full of bliss and cheer that bordered insanity.
I cringed away when a blinding white eye rose to the surface, staring at me wide-eyed. It didn't blink but there was clear fear and hot anger inside of it.
I think he tried to speak, but instead of words, there was a violent cough, fluorescent blood slipping out from behind his white mask.
Even in my godly body, I felt like I was going to be sick. I staggered away, my feet tripping on each other and my wings flapping to keep me upright.
Then there was a shattering noise and someone caught onto my elbow, straightening my feet. Purple shards flurried around the two of us from the ender pearl they had previously thrown.
I blinked away my sick feeling, seeing Dream swaying and struggling to stand next to me. He had his ripped-gloved hand around my hoodie, his arm carefully avoiding the wings.
Best of all, his cracked and destroyed mask had been removed, revealing his unscarred face. No previous scars or scratches marred his face, healed from his new freedom.
Although, the magic didn't heal his bruise-like bags under his eyes or the exhausted look in his eyes. The darkness had left his body vulnerable and weak after having a grip for so long.
But he gave me his best smile, trying to hold the both of us up. "The fact that you have wings in your goddess form doesn't surprise me. They look good on you."
Despite the situation and what lay in front of us, heat crept up my neck. I quickly shook it away and took my weight off him, saying, "Of course you still manage to make me blush in the middle of this shit."
He winked, placing a hand in his hoodie pocket. "It's a skill I take great pride in."
I rolled my eyes, and my face returned to stone when my eyes drifted back to DreamXD's slow-rising chest.
"Oh shit," Dream muttered when he followed my eyes.
I hummed in agreement, taking careful steps back towards the dying god. Who knew if he still had wells of power inside himself that he was hiding to lure us in.
Something warm was pressed into my hand, making me look down at where Dream was pressing something into my palm.
Dream's voice was grave and cold, "We need to put a final end to this."

I looked back up at him, clutching the green-stained copper dagger he handed me. "If we do this, you'll lose your powers and any drop of divinity that runs in your veins."
His face didn't falter, no hesitation or pause before he spoke, "Then let's kill this bastard, and let him take all of my powers with him."
My head dipped in acknowledgment and I moved around to the other side of DreamXD to kneel next to his chest with Dream doing the same on the other side. Heat blistered in my knees from the Savannah grass, my wings adding to the temperature.
I placed the tip of the dagger over where DreamXD's heart should be, lightly holding it against his torn and dirty cape. The ender pearl in the center of his cape was shattered and the rings around his head lay motionless.
Yet, the evil white eye behind the mask stared at me, and I made an effort to stare back at it with as much fire and fury that made up my wings.
"You are no longer a god, Dreamon," I said with authority, the words coming from a dark but familiar well. "As the Goddess of Magic and Light, I send you back to the hellhole you came from."
Dream placed his hand over my own on the dagger's cloth grip, his finger poised with intent.
I made myself look away from the dagger and its target, focusing my eyes on the blazing sky full of pastel colors of the sunset. The sun was huge as it set on the Savannah, heat blurring the horizon.
Then Dream squeezed my fingers and we pushed on the weapon together, ending the last of our godly problems with one strike.
The cracked and dying wheezes were silenced, and to my surprise, I felt the knife slip from my hand and land on the rocks below.
My eyes snapped back to the ground, the sight tearing a shaky breath from my chest.
DreamXD was gone, the only signs of his final death being the splattered bright blood and the dark cloud of smoke floating up into the sky, disappearing over the mountain.
Dream and I were silent for a second, the events of what just happened settling in.
It ... was over. After all the tears, brokenness, and hurt, it was over.
I didn't realize I was shaking until Dream moved around the blood and wrapped his arms around me. When I had first freed him, adrenaline and euphoria had me on a high, pulling me up and away from the shattering realization.
Now, even with the divinity still rushing through me, I crashed into Dream with a wrenching sob, letting every single emotion crash and hit me like a train.
I felt Dream's own hot tears drip onto my hair from where his head was placed above me, a tremor shaking between us as the tips of threads stretched towards each other in the question of forgiveness and love.
The bond was attempting to heal, the threads no longer invisible but now blooming with happy yellow light and clover green healing. Whispers of tenderness and endearment flooded the air, silent to our ears full of sobs.
This was the real Dream, the one who would never betray his closest friends for power. The man who would claw his way out of the deepest ravine to get to the ones he loved.
And that's what he had done. He had crawled his way out of the darkest abyss nobody would ever see, drawn by my gentle and bright light, as well as the lanterns of our best friends.
He whispered into my hair, speaking for both of us, "We're safe now, y/n. We're okay."
Suddenly, he pulled back, tears dripping down his face. Then his lips were pressed against mine, salt intertwined with passion and longing.
Just like before, embers burst from the air, but this time they didn't float away in the white snowflakes of ashes. Instead, they stayed floating like flashing fireflies that only came out in the summer.
My magic warmed inside of myself, building and bolstering the love in my heart that tripped over itself to reach Dream, drawn by his beacon.
I pulled back, choking on a sob, and managed to smile through my overwhelming emotions. His face mirrored my own, full of bliss and the most loving look I had ever seen.
Tears continued to fall, this time for the errors and uncontrolled words that had been spilled from his mouth, "I'm sorry for all of it. Nothing I said was ever true, he was was in control-"
I silenced him with another kiss, stopping his useless apologies. I had forgiven him long ago when I had that dream atop the tower as we entered the storm with hazy mountains in the distance.
"You don't have to worry about apologizing to me," I said once I moved back to look at him. "Never again, not for this. We'll work on it, but not now."
He nodded slightly, his freckles darkening in the setting light.
A small smile spread on his face, brightening his eyes. He reached out and poked my ears, saying, "You look just like Techno with these. You two really do look like siblings sometimes."
I reached up, lightly tapping the top of my ear. I gasped, realizing that with this form my ears had taken a delicate point, just like Techno's.
The feeling of someone's eyes settled on me, but not from anywhere near our cuddled bundle, but up from the bunches of dazzling stars that had settled over us like a blanket.
Stars aligned perfectly to reveal the lotus flower constellation smiling down on us. The star that made the tip of the flower flashed, brightening for just a second to send an unspoken message down to me.
I understood immediately, my mother's words setting off the realization that made my tears slow and my hands raise.
It was time.
Silently, I closed my eyes, scooping my hands into the lakes and rivers of magic that ran through my being and divinity. I picked the flowers that grew by the pools where light and elements combined.
Pictures of laughter and happiness flooded my head, and then there was a twinkling sound as I gently cupped these flowers and the elixir of light and magic and brought it up to the surface, breaking the atmosphere.
Dream audibly gasped next to me, my eyes fluttering open as warmth spread through my fingertips.
Light furls, made of fire, lightning, and golden rays combined, flooded out of my hands like waterfalls and bloomed like lotuses. The definition of my magic and soul were twirling in my palm as a piece of myself, offered up to the world.
I slowly raised my hands to the sky, towards the stars and where my mother rested with Wilbur at her side, letting my light into the darkness that had a hold on our world for far too long.
Somewhere, across the world, an egg faded away, its red and murky vines dying with it. The crimson's claws were pulled out of a man, freeing his mind and pulling the blindfold off his eyes.
Another place was cleansed of dust and dirt, the explosions being cleaned up a bit so the teal water ran clear where it fell into the massive crater. Even if the striped flag lay at the bottom of the hole, it lifted from its dead position to flap lightly.
Portals of all kinds were sealed permanently in the green and purple carpeted basement, where bookcases were a lifeline and its contents were inked for everyone to read but to never travel back to them again.
Every corner of the world where darkness fled and cowered to escape my light was found with my magic's map and exploded into nothing like fireworks.
Above, on the mountain where there was one final fight, the dark smoke cloud dropped to the broken earth and formed the statue of a god with a mask, battered wings spread wide in stone.
At the foot of it, two discs lay to forever stay in memory, nestled against a broken mask that was similar to the one of the god. But this mask would never be worn again, never hide a face.
And as the final shred of darkness was pulled from the earth, along with my divinity, I felt my mother smiling down on me with her brilliant light.
My goddess form would never be able to be accessed again as a price for my deed to rid the world of this darkness, taking my godly name and access to the world of higher beings with it.
But I could care less, now that I knew it was always meant to be and the music was over, the conductor lowering his baton with the final note of the symphony.
The embers floated back down to the ground around Dream and me, my wings disappearing and my ears returning to their normal shape. My body sagged with exhaust and my powers settled in for its long slumber.
I knew sleep was tugging at me, begging me to give in to its comforting and nightmare-free world.
But I forced my eyes to stay open as Dream and I both turned at the sound of several sets of footsteps behind us, along with the flapping of wings.
I turned to see my friends and family standing around us, childish wonder and pure happiness in their eyes as they felt the weight of darkness lifted off of each of their shoulders.
Punz was in the front, leading the army that had been prepped just in case of my failure or DreamXD's escape. He nodded proudly, stepping back for several people to rush forward.
I laughed through my stuffed-up nose, Dream doing the same as George and Sapnap ran to embrace him after hesitating for a second, unsure if this was real. But when they tackled their brother to the ground, tears were falling all over again.
The same thing happened to me, but with Tommy, Sam, and Puffy wrapping their arms around me. Tubbo, who was being carried by Ranboo, was placed close enough to reach me.
Then there was Quackity and Karl, soon followed by Niki and Bad both spewing apologies as fast as their tears fell. Apologies were ushered away, tucked away to never be touched.
"Alright, alright, they're both about to topple from exhaust," Someone called over the crowd, making Niki and Bad pull away with red-rimmed eyes. "We need to get these two heroes home."
Techno stepped forward, hidden before by the crowd. I smiled and tried my best to stand before he moved to scoop me into a hug.
I knew he would never admit it, but tears slipped down his face with relief and pride for his little sister.
When he felt my legs begin to give out, he scooped me up so I had my head against his red-caped shoulder where there was soft fluff. The scent of parchment and smoke filled my nose, luring me closer to sleep.
There was some shuffling and I looked over to see Sapnap holding Dream the same way, walking up next to Techno.
We began walking, the whole group laughing and cheering with excitement. Someone shouted that there were fireflies despite the winter season and I could faintly hear Tommy humming the L'manberg anthem as he walked on the other side of Techno, near Tubbo's sleeping form.
But it all faded away as my arm fell from Techno's hold, brushing against something.
Dream's hand found mine, his fingers intertwining with my own. We clung to each other, no longer scared of the dark or what lurked in it, but creating our own light to scare off anything that set fear in our family and friends and ourselves.
So I let myself fall asleep with my hand wrapped around Dream's as we traveled back to our safe home, the warmth of golden light already welcoming me with applause as I bowed before the curtains closed on the symphony.
But that didn't mean the symphony was over.
No, this was just the end of the wicked movement, a pause before the blissful and cheery harmony where two could love each other without fearing how bright the sun really shone and how high the stars really went.
