《Invisible Threads ~ Dream SMP x Reader ~ Book II》Part 44

Branching off in front of me, the large crack in the ground raced towards where Dream was clutching Tubbo. There was an ear-splitting break as my magic cut deep into the stone and core of the mountain.
As it sped forward, I stood and swiped my hands hard to the side. The fissure swerved with my movement, changing its course.
There was nothing Dream could do as the split ran between his toes and Tubbo's heels and stop just beyond. The sheer force of my magic threw Dream away from the teen with a scream, his ax flying wildly.
Then Tubbo was flying through the air as well, Dream's ax catching on his arm. Tubbo shrieked, curling up around where his arm was cut and scrunching his eyes together.
I moved instinctively, throwing myself into the air where Tubbo collided with me. Gravity pulled the two of us down as I wrapped my arms around the teen and took the brunt of the fall.
Grass crunched under my back and the sounds of rock tumbling down the mini ravine filled my ears. Smoke was thick in the air, Dream no longer visible where he had been flung by the slit.
"Tubbo! Y/n!" Tommy shouted from the barrier of smoke, his quick footsteps just after his call.
I coughed the dust and smoke from my throat and tried to regain some of the breath that had been knocked out of me when Tubbo landed on top of me. It felt like there was no clean air anywhere near us.
"In here, Tommy," I called back, shifting slightly so I could see Tubbo's face.
His eyes were still closed tight, his breathing ragged and staggering. Red bloomed through his old green shirt, right between his bracer and chest plate.
I gently moved so I was cradling his head in my arms so he could sit without being in too much pain. He wouldn't bleed out but stitches would definitely be needed.
"Tubbo, are you okay?" I asked, softly running my hand over his hair in a nurturing way.
A tear slipped down his pale face but he nodded, taking a deep breath. One of his horns dug slightly into my side from where they sprouted from his dirty hair.
Then he gave me a small smile, pain and adrenaline laced in it. "That was bloody awesome!"
I laughed, the mood lightening just a tad. The dust was settling around us and the smoke was being lifted into the air, fewer rocks falling through the ground.
But I kept my eyes on Tubbo, making sure he could breathe and that his heart was beginning to slow after rocketing through the sky.
Tubbo's small smile disappeared when Tommy finally found us, his tall form emerging from the thinning smog. There was a small scratch across his cheek and a part of his pants was cut on the knee.
My eyes narrowed on the purple disc in his hand.
Despite the disc, Tommy's eyes instantly found Tubbo and he quickly knelt beside us. Fresh tears of fear and worry were shining in his blue eyes just below the green turtle helmet.
"Are you alright, big man?" Tommy asked Tubbo, laying the disc on the broken ground.
Tubbo nodded slightly, his hand still placed over the wound. Color leached off his face in my arms and he stared Tommy down.
"Tommy, you need to take the disc and leave," Tubbo pleaded, his voice breaking with raw emotion.

I realized with horror that Tubbo was willing to die for Tommy and his disc.
After everything they had been through, Tubbo was still ready to lose his life so that his best friend could be happy.
But Tubbo was too concerned for Tommy's happiness, that he didn't realize that he himself was Tommy's happiness and his home.
Tommy's mouth opened like he was going to say something but then he stopped. He hesitantly glanced at the disc where it lay next to rocks and green blades of grass shot up in the center hole.
The item looked so innocent and simple nestled in the grass, but there was too much history and brokenness behind it. A part of Tommy's heart still remained with the disc because it reminded him of when times were simpler.
When his friendship was easier with Tubbo, when L'manberg was not blown up and lost, and when Wilbur was still mentally stable.
As Tommy hesitated, I spoke up, "Tommy, the disc isn't worth it."
He looked up at me like he just realized I was there. A war was raging behind his eyes like a dark storm cloud over the ocean.
"But," I continued, "I'll be damned if I don't get both of you off of this cliff with that disc. These wars over the discs have gone on far too long and that green god has had too much control."
Even with my promise of Tommy keeping the disc, he didn't brighten or reach for the item at his side.
Instead, he reached down and placed his hand over Tubbo's arm where it was pressed over his cut. His movements were gentle and purely out of selfless, brotherly love.
"The discs were never worth more than you were," Tommy said, looking at Tubbo and then up at me. "Either of you."
I smiled at Tommy, my heart soaring with pride and love. The teens had grown so much since the first L'manberg war when they were young and reckless, just like the rest of us.
But it was time to put an end to all these wars. This would be the last battle, no matter how it ended.
My smile slipped off my face when the air was finally clear again and Dream appeared in front of our small cluster. No scratches or cuts marked his body but DreamXD was now fully visible behind his puppet.
Tubbo shrunk back into me, Tommy taking a tiny step in front of us even as the blood drained from his face. I had forgotten that this was the first time they had seen the dark god.
Dream brushed the dust and dirt off his armor, carefree. His movements were controlled by red threads that sprung from the god's raised fingers.
And when I peered closer, I noticed Dream's only visible eye.
The iris was totally black, any trace of clovers and emeralds were gone. No light or emotion reached his eyes, the unnaturally void-like pools rippling as they fell on us.
"Well, that's one way to start a party," DreamXD said coolly, his echoing voice through Dream. "You weren't invited for a reason, y/n."
I looked up at the god from my place on the ground, my jaw hardening. "When have I ever needed an invite, Dream?"
"Hm, I suppose you're right," He hummed, lifting his ax and taking a step towards us.
Tommy stood abruptly, leaving mellohi laying on the grass. He lifted his sword towards Dream, making the masked man stop.

"Don't go anywhere near my family, bitch," He growled.
Dream's eye narrowed, the barely visible tip of his lip tugged into a thin line.
I helped Tubbo into a standing position, supporting him until he could stand on his own. He pulled his hand off the wound, his painted palm reaching for the empty sheath at his side.
"Aw, isn't that adorable?" Dream mocked, his voice filled with fake sweetness. "Have you all made up?"
I ignored him, reaching my own sheath and pulling my sword free. It pulsed and gleamed in my hand from the nearness of the darkness, my magic making it dazzle with sparkles.
"Tubbo, do you still have that netherite ingot I gave you?" I asked, wary of Dream's stare.
Tubbo nodded, reaching into a flap on his belt. Out he pulled was the dark and smooth ingot of netherite, the gift I had given him.
"If I promise to give it back later, could I borrow it?" He nodded eagerly, pressing the now red-stained bar into my hand. I continued, "I have something you can use to keep my word."
"You don't have to give-"
I stopped him, flipping my sword around so I was holding the guard and the hilt was extended towards him.
"You need a weapon to defend yourself and this sword will take good care of you," I said, pushing the sword into his hand.
He hesitantly took it into his hands, curiosity getting the best of him. The sword dimmed slightly without my magic's direct connection but still continued to shimmer in the light.
Tommy glanced over his shoulder, keeping his knees bent and his winged sword aimed. "Y/n, you need a weapon too."
I turned away from Tubbo, marching up next to Tommy where I clutched the ingot in one hand and placed my other hand on his shoulder.
"Tommy, when I say so, you get away from me and you don't step in to help, alright?" When he didn't respond, I swiveled my head to look at him. "Trust me. You cannot step in even if I'm dying."
Tommy's brows scrunched together in confusion and terror, but he dipped his head. He lowered his sword and took a step behind me to stand with Tubbo.
Dream rolled his eye with DreamXD's outline flickering and then becoming lighter. He knew what was about to happen so he pushed most of his control into his puppet.
"Now that the sappy shit is over, can I have the disc back?" Dream asked in a bored tone.
I dug into my magic, feeling the cool exterior of netherite in my palm. It vibrated once as I pushed through its shiny exterior and then totally transformed it.
"You aren't getting that disc back, Dream," I spat. "And you aren't staying in control for much longer."
I lifted what used to be the netherite ingot, which was now in the shape of a honed netherite sword. There were no enchantments, but my magic was enough to make the raw material into a weapon.
Just like Techno taught me.
Before Dream could shoot some witty remark back at me, I lunged with my sword swinging.
He only had a second to react, backing up on his toes out of my reach. Metal on metal crashed a second later when he brought his ax onto my sword.
My magic burned with restraint, ready to rip its enemy apart. It could faintly feel Dream fighting back inside his mind, using the light I had given him all that time ago in our old house when I thought I blocked out DreamXD's whispers.
I gritted my teeth and pushed off his ax, freeing my sword from his grasp. I needed to buy myself time to burrow further into my magic.
So we danced, taking turns getting hits on one while the other played defense with blocking and shielding. Dream was a challenging opponent, especially with a god manipulating all of his movements.
I could tell DreamXD was digging further into his powers, the same as I. He was building up to fully destroy me with a strong blow.
But I was preparing.
Last night, I hadn't gone to Foolish to learn how to battle with a sword or how to brew potions within a few minutes.
No, Foolish taught me how to kill a god with my own divinity.
Only a god can kill a god, that voice said in my head, much louder now than it had been before.
The voice was close by, hovering around me like a cat about to pounce. It knew its time was coming for it to work with my magic and myself.
So when Dream and I's weapons were locked and I flicked my wrists, making Dream's ax fly out of his hands, I anticipated the blow from his fist.
His punch hit me squarely in the cheek near my lip, splitting the skin and drawing blood. My netherite sword flew from my hands, somewhere over my shoulder, turning back into an ingot mid-flight.
Tommy and Tubbo both screamed, watching helplessly from the safety of the shade with their feet bound by trust and my warning.
My breath was stolen away from my lungs as I got pushed to my knees, a strong jolt going through my legs. The ground was covered with rocks here, stabbing into my skin.
Dream snickered, triumph and victory flooding the air. "That was weaker than I thought, y/n. You're more of a bitch than a fighter."
He thought he had won and DreamXD was about to release his powers on me in what he thought would be his final swing.
But I had finished bundling my magic together and going through the mental steps Foolish had taught me.
I looked up at Dream and his puppeteer, my head still slightly lowered, and I huffed a weak laugh. Blood smeared on my cheek as I wiped the split in my lip and definitely broken nose.
He stared at me with pure hatred, neon red liquid oozing from the letters on DreamXD's now fully visible mask. His form has completely solidified with intense power.
I smiled slyly and braced myself.
"I may be a bitch," I said, "but I'm also a goddess."
Before my words even processed in his godly head, I charged at him and let every human part of myself go with divinity replacing it.

8 153Creativity Can Fix Things
Meet Alex.Alex is like anyone, really, he just didn't know.He is an artist, a musician, tried to paint, every one of his friends knows him for his drawings. Meet truck.Truck is like every other truck, and everyone knows what a good truck does. It sends people to a new fantasy world. That or the author is just imagining this whole story and creating things out of his butt. Point being, trucks send people to alternate dimensions. The caveat is that Alex is creative, didn't fit into society like everyone else, but, as he would say, he is 'defective'.When he finally figured it out and was ready to fix his shit he had the most gruesome encounter with Mr. Truck. And now we are here, enjoy it. --- Looking for an editor!!! I'm writing this in an attempt to put a comedic feeling into something many people go trough: finding their place, fitting into society, adjusting to responsibilities and facing their problems. It's not really "WOW, HE MADE SOMETHING NEW!", but is more like "Heh, look at dumb ass doing shit... Oh... Hey, I do that too!" So feel free to read at your own risk. Don't know if it will be sporadic, regular or what. For now, it's a creative spur that needed a valve to release and. Here. We. Are.
