Taehyung held the bottle of prescription pills in his hand, slightly trembling.
The boy slowly took out a pill, resting it in his palm as he stared at it. However, his brows raised when he realised how shaky his breathing was. Why was he freaking out over this again? He had taken his pills countless of times so why did he seem particularly scared this time?
Maybe it was because of everything that was happening.
See, it was the first time Taehyung had to swallow his pills after breaking up with Jeongguk, that sending his heart to hastily race. Over the span of the few days that followed the breakup, Taehyung's nerves found it difficult to rest, succumbing to his fidgety ways once more.
Taehyung chewed on his lip as he continued to stare at the pill, growing antsier and antsier by the minute. His heart was pounding, his hand was trembling, a million thoughts racing through his brain but the boy took a deep breath, remembering that piece of advice and then breathing out slowly.
Grabbing the unscrewed water bottle from the bathroom counter, Taehyung anxiously placed the pill on top of his tongue before quickly pressing the bottle to his lips and taking a mouthful of water.
Taehyung then proceeded to swallow like always but widened his eyes at how his throat seemed to be stuck in place. He tried again, a hand gripping the edge of the counter, but to no avail, coughing out the water along with the pill.
The boy's eyes remained as wide as ever in shock as he gazed at the discarded pill in the sink. What had gotten into him? Why couldn't he do this? Taehyung thought that he had long gotten over everything in the past so what was stopping him from swallowing pills?
A slight bubble of panic started building up in Taehyung's chest which the boy ignored. He tried to brush off his previous thoughts as he took out another pill and repeated the formula, pop it in his mouth, get some water and try to swallow. Emphasis on try to.
No matter how hard Taehyung tried, he kept coughing out the water and pill, the added panic not helping. In fact, it kept on rising with each passing second of Taehyung's desperate struggle to swallow his pills. By now, the boy was mindlessly shoving them into his mouth as he messily took some water and tried to gulp everything down, repeating that endless cycle for what felt like years.
After a couple of hopeless attempts, Taehyung eventually gave up, leaning against the sink with both hands grabbing the counter. There was water everywhere, spilt onto the floors, the mirror, the counter, everywhere. He gazed at his reflection in the water amongst the blotches of water that was splashed onto it, it was until then the boy hadn't realised the state of himself.
Taehyung's eyes were bloodshot, his dark curly locks in a tousled mess, palms clammy with his heart still beating at an alarming pace. Fuck- what had happened to him in the past few days? Was the breakup that hard on him?
He gulped thickly, getting a towel to wipe off the counter from the water as he tried to rid himself of those thoughts, then dropping the towel on the floor where he mopped up the water before throwing the it in the laundry basket. Taehyung clutched his bottle of pills, staring at them with a frustrated expression, clenching his fingers around the container.
His mind was crammed with numerous questions and thoughts about everything; his medication, the breakup, Jennie. Everything. Taehyung's grip tightened on the bottle, hand slightly shaking as he began to question his own sanity at that-

"Hey." A familiar voice called out, a voice that never failed to send chills down Taehyung's spine followed by a sudden pair of arms being thrown over his shoulders from behind. Taehyung sighed, recognising it to be Jennie, speak of the devil.
"What's that in your hand?" She asked, pointing to Taehyung's prescription pills and the boy stiffened. He didn't reply which then prompted Jennie to walk over to try to grab the container off of him but Taehyung was able to swiftly move his hand and back away, glaring at the girl.
"What is it? Medicine?" Jennie pouted at how Taehyung ignored her, placing his pills back in the cabinet.
"It's none of your business, Jennie." Taehyung scoffed, stepping out of his bathroom and into his dorm where he sat down on his bed, leaning his weight back with his palms pressed against the mattress. "Why are you here anyway?"
Jennie rolled her eyes and seated herself on Taehyung's lap, ignoring how the boy noticeably tensed underneath her. "I wanted to show you some of the ultrasounds of our baby, I just got them today."
Taehyung didn't say anything, he just looked at Jennie with a dull look in his eyes as she reached over to grab the photos from his bedside table, showing them to Taehyung. "See, aren't they cute?" She beamed, holding a photo.
Rubbing his eyes, Taehyung mustered enough energy to give a small smile and a nod, gazing at the photo. Jennie giggled, smiling uncontrollably at the photos as she looked through them, a hand holding her stomach.
"Look at this one!" She cried, handing Taehyung another photo to which the boy gave the exact same reaction, a smile and a nod. Jennie noticed the repetition and scowled, placing the photos back on the bedside table.
"I'll show them to you when you're in a better mood." She grumbled, turning around to the boy so her arms were wrapped around his neck. "So, I was planning that after the baby is born, you'll move in with me and-"
Taehyung just listened absent-mindedly, washing the majority of what Jennie was saying out of his ears as his mind was far too occupied thinking of a certain boy. His spirits were obviously down from not being able to swallow his pills, that adding to the anxiety of the whole situation. He felt dizzy.
"-Taehyung? Taehyung!" Jennie called out with a frown on her face. Taehyung snapped out of his daze, blinking at the girl.
"What?" He asked, confused, and saw how the girl rolled her eyes at him and crossed her arms.
"Are you even listening? I was talking to you." She huffed, wrapped her legs securely around Taehyung's waist which just reminded the boy about Jeongguk even more. He always did that.
Taehyung bit his lip, hating how his mind was filled with nothing but thoughts about the boy. Jeongguk, Jeongguk, Jeongguk. It was like every inch of his body was yearning for him, screaming for him.
"Taehyung!" Jennie called out another time, shaking his shoulders which brought the boy back to reality for the second time. Taehyung looked at Jennie with a blank look for a slight second before he nodded.
"Huh? Yeah, I- I was listening." Taehyung tried to convince but he knew that Jennie could see right through him from the way she squinted her eyes. Jennie opened her mouth to say something but both she and Taehyung heard a light knock on his door.
Jennie scoffed at that and hopped off the boy's lap to answer it, Taehyung merely picked at his lip in the meanwhile. He didn't seem to care about who it was at the door but that was until he heard their voice.

"Where's Taehyung?" It asked, and Taehyung realised that it was Jimin. He whipped his head around to see the boy with a hand on his hip standing outside the dorm as he talked to Jennie. Taehyung immediately stood up.
"Oh, there you are!" Jimin cried when he spotted the boy, shoving his way past Jennie into the dorm despite her inaudible protests. "You weren't answering my calls!" He pouted, holding up his phone and Taehyung just blinked at him. His gaze travelled to Jennie, who was scowling, and then back to Jimin, who was rambling on.
Jimin seemed to notice his flickering gazes between him and Jennie and so he turned to the girl. "I kinda need to talk to Taehyung about something important, do you mind leaving for a bit?"
Taehyung saw how the girl looked at him for a quick second before glancing back at Jimin and nodding, a bright smile on her face. "Of course." She grinned, stepping out of the dorm but not before giving Taehyung a lingering glare which didn't fail to make the boy gulp, panic rising.
Jimin smiled back at Jennie and closed the door behind her, seating himself on a desk chair after she was gone, his expression shifting. Taehyung sat back down on his bed as he stared at the boy, heart speeding. He opened his mouth.
"S-so, what did you want to talk about-?"
"Why did you and Jeongguk break up?" Jimin interrupted, a stern gaze fixated on Taehyung as he sat on the chair with his legs crossed over the other. Taehyung froze, not expecting Jimin to be so straight-forward.
"W-what do you mean?" Taehyung asked, ignoring the way his voice wavered under Jimin's harsh stare. The boy scoffed, leaning his back into the chair.
"Oh, you know exactly what I mean." Jimin then sighed, pressing his elbows onto the armrests of the chair where his hands laced together. "Tell me, why Jennie over Jeongguk? What does she have that he doesn't?" He began, brows slightly furrowed.
Taehyung felt tensed, he'd never been so intimidated before and Jimin was only sitting. He didn't know how to answer, his mouth going completely dry. Jimin chuckled at that, his laugh not at all light-hearted or soft.
"Is it only because she's apparently pregnant with your kid? That was a good enough reason to leave Jeongguk?" He asked his questions showing no signs of wanting an answer. Taehyung bit the inside of his cheek as he averted his gaze, he heard Jimin sigh once more.
"Fine, here's an easier question for you. Did you really want to break up with Jeongguk?"
Taehyung only bit harder on the inside of his cheek, his eyes refusing to look at Jimin as his brain thought of a quick answer, going by Jennie's script. "Yes," he blurted out, looking down to avoid Jimin's piercing gaze.
"You're lying." He muttered, and Taehyung stilled. Finally, he decided to look at Jimin to shake his head, chewing on his lip.
"I'm not," Taehyung replied, trying to hide his expression by putting on a blank face as he did with Jeongguk when they broke up, despite his leg bouncing up and down like crazy. Jimin raised his brow at him.
"That sounds like another lie." He murmured, slightly pouting. "You don't like Jennie, do you?"
Taehyung pursed his lips and was about to shake his head before he got to his senses. Instead, he wore a slight smirk on his face to mask his true feelings. "I do, what makes you think that?"
Jimin resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the boy. "I don't know? Maybe it's because I see you always tense up when you're around her, or how you always stare at Jeongguk whenever he walks past and oh, don't get me started on how you-"
"That's bullshit." Taehyung scoffed, harshly pressing his weight onto his legs to stop them from bouncing. "Why should my relationships matter to you?"
Jimin breathed in deeply to suppress his rage at Taehyung's words. He couldn't believe him. "Because this is my best friend we're talking about, why wouldn't this matter to me?" He reasoned with wide eyes. Taehyung cursed in his head, what should he say next?
"I like Jennie." He lied, holding his hands over his arms. "That's why I broke up with Jeongguk." Another lie slipped out as a way to back up his previous one.
"And so you decided to do it in the worst way possible?" Jimin asked in disbelief, throwing his body forward to get a closer look at Taehyung's behaviour, he smirked at how the boy froze.
"What? How would you-?"
"You fucking knew about Jeongguk's trust issues, about how everything went down with his ex. All of it, and yet you decide to cheat on him and tell him that everything was a lie when he came to confront you?" Jimin's smirk grew wider when he saw was that Taehyung was silent.
Meanwhile, Taehyung looked at Jimin with big eyes as his mind scrambled to think of a possible reason as to how Jimin knew. However, he was soon to get that reason when Jimin continued.
"I was there, Taehyung! I saw with my own two eyes as you broke up with Jeongguk, I heard all the horrible shit you said to him. How fucking dare you?" Jimin hissed, standing up abruptly, seething with anger.
Taehyung stayed silent as Jimin walked up to him, glaring at him with a look of pure rage. "I know for a fact that you don't like Jennie one fucking bit! I may not know why you broke up with Jeongguk but Jennie definitely has something to do with it, doesn't she?"
Taehyung clenched his fists as he continued to shake his head, denying the truth in front of Jimin. "No, it isn't that-"
"So what? Jennie's pregnant with your kid, was that the reason you broke up with Jeongguk?" Jimin asked. "Was it, Taehyung? You decided to break up with him because of something like that? Come on, you couldn't have stayed with him while-"
"I didn't fucking break up with him because of that!" Taehyung finally snapped, abruptly standing up. That part was true however his pent up rage of the whole situation was boiling madly within him. "Why do you care so much about my reason, Jimin? Is it because you're mad that I didn't pick you after breaking up with-?"
Taehyung then paused, eyes big as he realised that he might've gone a bit too far with that statement, even if he was just faking it. He looked at Jimin's expression and saw how his eyes were lined with tears, plump lips parted in shock. Instant regret.
"How fucking low do you think of me, T-Taehyung?" Jimin spat, not caring that Taehyung could see the tears streaming down his face. "I get that I was a fucking bitch before, that I shouldn't have said all that shit to Jeongguk but at least I apologised and am trying to change myself!"
"Jimin-"
"And what do my past feelings for you have anything to do with this argument? Don't flatter yourself." Jimin breathed out shakily. "I honestly don't know what the hell I even saw in you. What Jeongguk saw in you."
Jimin scoffed at the boy, looking off to the side for a short moment, slightly trembling. "Jeongguk doesn't fucking deserve you."
Taehyung gulped when he heard that but he didn't retaliate and just hung his head low. He nodded. "I know."
"I came here to ask why you broke up with Jeongguk since you literally gave him a speech about trusting you. I thought it there was a deeper reason for your breakup." Jimin reached out to wipe his tears off with the back of his hand. "But you've just made me realise that there probably isn't. You-you're just an asshole who doesn't even deserve to look in Jeongguk's direction."
Guilt sunk in deeper for Taehyung, flowing through his veins and consuming every fibre of his being as Jimin's words echoed in his head. Taehyung nodded once more, a lump in his throat.
"L-literally fuck you, Taehyung. Don't even think about approaching Jeongguk. In fact, I- I'm happy you broke it off with him, he deserves so much better than you." Jimin sniffled as he headed to the door to leave but not before saying a final thing.
"I was so fucking wrong about you."
And just like that- Jimin left without another word, slamming the door shut behind him. Taehyung felt his heart hammering inside his chest, his own eyes teary. He immediately crashed back into his bed after that, throwing his pale blue comforter over him as his hands found their way to tug at his hair.
This was all his fault, why did he always have to mess up?
Taehyung's breath quickened as he burrowed his head in the sheets, curling up. He was going back to his old habits again, habits that he managed to lose with the help of Jeongguk but with everything going to shit these past few days, Taehyung realised that it was inevitable.
The boy scrunched his hair in his fist so tightly that his nails were digging into his palms, like Taehyung could care. His mind was going into meltdown, analysing everything about the argument he just had with Jimin, what he should've said instead. He was plagued with guilt and regret.
However, amongst the bitter thoughts and harsh analysis, Taehyung's mind managed to dig up an old memory of him and Jeongguk. Before all of this happened, it was during the spring holidays to be exact. Taehyung inwardly smiled at the memory, closing his eyes as he let himself relive it.
"You still awake?" Taehyung called out to his boyfriend, lightly planting kisses down the back of his neck. He sighed when he didn't get a response and tried again. "Jeongguk, baby?"
Taehyung frowned when Jeongguk didn't respond yet again. He must be asleep but Taehyung's thoughts wouldn't leave him alone. However, Taehyung quietly rolled over, he didn't want to disturb Jeongguk.
Taehyung was just about to close his eyes shut to try and get some sleep but his brows furrowed when he heard the rustling of the covers next to him and then the sound of a light switching on, followed by a small groan emitting from Jeongguk.
"What's wrong, Taehyungie?" Jeongguk mumbled drowsily, turning over to the boy, poking his fingers into Taehyung's back. Taehyung turned around too and saw how Jeongguk had turned on the lamp resting on the bedside table, shining a warm glow in the room.
Taehyung stared at Jeongguk for a split second before he smiled and shook his head, kissing the boy's puffy cheek. He tried to ignore the thoughts in his head. "S-sorry for bothering you, go back to bed," Taehyung mumbled but Jeongguk frowned.
"No, what was it? Are you okay?" Jeongguk asked, his voice laced with concern as he was rubbing his eyes but Taehyung tried to brush it off.
"I'm fine. Go back to sleep, baby." He murmured, giving a warm smile to the boy to further prove his statement but Jeongguk could see right through him.
"Something's bothering you," he pouted but Taehyung shook his head once more, bringing his hand out to caress the boy's soft hair.
Jeongguk's pout grew even more which got Taehyung to kiss it away, chuckling at how Jeongguk scowled after that. "Taehyung, talk to me." He tried again. "There's something that's definitely wrong."
Taehyung didn't say anything and just pursed his lips, continuing to rake his fingers through Jeongguk's brown locks. He saw the boy huff before he laid on his back and propped himself lightly.
Patting his chest, a soft smile painted itself on Jeongguk's features. "Come on," he whispered. Taehyung gulped, glancing at Jeongguk's chest and then at Jeongguk again, his gaze flickering. He was hesitant at first but he eventually gave in and plopped his head down on Jeongguk's chest, feeling the boy's hands play with his hair.
"So, what's wrong?" Jeongguk asked again, and Taehyung just wrapped his arms around the boy, closing his eyes. He didn't want to tell Jeongguk, he'd sound like a fool.
"Taehyung." Jeongguk huffed, puffing his cheeks but Taehyung stayed put, tightening his hold around Jeongguk.
"It's dumb," Taehyung uttered after a bit, and Jeongguk resisted the urge to scoff.
