It was the next day when Jeongguk was anxiously chewing on his lip as he stood outside Taehyung's dorm. He planned on talking to him yesterday, however, his nervousness got the better of him and so he stayed put.

Jeongguk found it a bit odd that Taehyung hadn't texted him ever since he left his dorm yesterday. He would've expected Taehyung to text him an explanation as soon as possible but for some reason, he didn't. It left a feeling of unease within Jeongguk, a feeling he didn't quite like.

Hesitantly, Jeongguk brought his hand up to the door and knocked a few times, gulping after. His heart was racing, mind flooding with questions.

What if Jisoo was wrong and Taehyung really was cheating on him?

What if Taehyung didn't want to talk to him?

What if Taehyung wasn't even there-?

Before Jeongguk's mind could think of any more questions, the door opened and luckily for the boy, Taehyung was there but something felt a bit.. off. Taehyung's expression looked cheerless and dull, his eyes radiating that same gloomy aura however when he noticed that it was Jeongguk at the door, his entire face lit up.

Jeongguk gave a sheepish smile, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. "H-hey, Taehyungie-" he greeted before he was abruptly cut off by Taehyung pressing their lips together, grabbing his petite waist.

Jeongguk merely squeaked into the kiss, his eyes wide open. His hands remained by his sides for the couple of seconds the kiss lasted before he felt Taehyung quickly pulling away, a slight look of panic on his face.

"Taehyung? What?" Jeongguk let out in confusion, Taehyung blinked for a seconds before he quickly removed his hands off the boy's waist. Jeongguk sighed and looked at Taehyung with a serious expression.

"We need to talk." Jeongguk gravely spoke, crossing his arms, and saw how Taehyung looked down, gulping.

Meanwhile, Taehyung was dreading what to come. Now that Jennie had left, it sent Taehyung's mind into freefall, he didn't know if he made the right choice by going along with her plan but he didn't want a trace of Jeongguk's photos on the internet.

He so badly wanted to text Jeongguk or even talk to him yesterday but his paranoia wouldn't let him. After Jennie had left his dorm, a thick coil of unease wrapped around windpipe, making it difficult for him to breathe, see or think, and so he left it.

"What was that back then?" Jeongguk began before his features softened, lip slightly trembling. "It- it was just a misunderstanding wasn't it? You wouldn't do that to me, would you?" The boy blinked at Taehyung with his big eyes, rain clouds forming in them but Jeongguk held it in, he didn't want to cry.

Taehyung pursed his lips at the sight before closing his eyes, his mind was practically shrieking at himself not to hurt the boy, to tell him everything about what happened yesterday.

The boy dug his nails into his palm, breathing in deeply. Fuck it. He- he had to tell Jeongguk, he had to let him know what was going on because he couldn't stand hurting him, even if it was for his own good.

Opening his eyes again, Taehyung breathed out, looking at Jeongguk with a panicked expression. "W-well, Jeongguk-"

Taehyung froze.

Just as he was about to begin telling Jeongguk about everything, in his peripheral vision, he saw a head poke out of the side of the wall, near the turn in the dormitories. Jennie.

Taehyung watched with wide eyes as he saw the girl glare at him all the while keeping herself pressed against the wall to minimise her visibility. He saw how she was carefully watching him and his every move, hearing his every word, Taehyung was sure that she could hear him loud and clear which made the situation all the more stressful.

"-Well?" Jeongguk asked with teary eyes, rocking on his feet and Taehyung tensed once more at the boy's expression. He glanced at Jennie and then back at Jeongguk, extremely conflicted.

"C-can we talk about this later?" He asked, and saw Jeongguk furrow his brows.

"What? No, Taehyung. We need to talk about this now."

Taehyung bit his lip, a vicious feeling of dread building up in his chest, eating away at his insides. He felt his breath go shaky, his palms go clammy, his heart sent to speed. It was then when Taehyung realised that he couldn't tell Jeongguk anything, that the only thing he could do to protect Jeongguk at that moment, was to break up him.

"Taehyung-?"

"Jeongguk, we- we need to break up." Taehyung let out briskly, hurriedly, the words leaving a repulsive taste in his mouth.

Jeongguk suddenly felt his heart stop, time going in slow motion when he registered the words that left Taehyung's lips. He felt a queasy feeling in his stomach, the words tearing their way through to Jeongguk's racing heart.

"W-what?" Jeongguk stammered out, barely breathing. He stared at Taehyung with wide eyes, a lump in his throat. "You-you're not serious, are you?"

Taehyung gazed at the boy for a moment, a vile mixture of dread and guilt continuing to eat away at his insides when he caught Jeongguk's fallen expression, he glanced over at Jennie who was wickedly smiling, nodding before his eyes went to Jeongguk again. Taehyung breathed in again, shaking his head.

"I- I'm serious, I think we need to break up," Taehyung repeated, hating the horrendous taste the words left. Jeongguk shook his own head, his doe eyes glistening.

"W-why? Did I do something wrong? I- I'll fix it-"

"I- I just don't think we're right for each other." Taehyung lied, breath uneven.

"N-no! You're lying! You- you told me that you loved me yesterday, that you adored me." Jeongguk's voice was small, fragile, and that only broke Taehyung's heart more.

"That- I- I didn't mean it." Taehyung's voice shook, going unnoticed by Jeongguk. Taehyung went to glance over at Jennie again who was still smiling, her eyes glinting.

Jeongguk lightly gasped, a few tears rolling down his face and Taehyung so desperately wanted to wipe them away but he didn't, couldn't. Instead, he stayed fixated in his place, masking his expression of hurt by completely blocking out any emotion from his face, his eyes showing the same dullness an empty husk.

"T-Taehyung, are you saying that you n-never loved me at all?" Jeongguk cried out, pained, he gazed into Taehyung's eyes, hoping to find some signs this was all some sick joke, that Taehyung didn't want to leave him, but he found none.

"This is some prank, right? This has to be!" Jeongguk cried, barely managing to see Taehyung through his tears.

Taehyung saw how Jennie had a slightly entertained look on her face, mixed with a look of triumph. She was enjoying this. The boy harshly bit the inside of his cheek to suppress his rage, focusing his mind back onto the devastated boy.

"Tell me it is! Tell me that you're kidding, Taehyung!" Jeongguk begged with his voice trembling, grabbing Taehyung by the arms and shaking him. Taehyung gulped and gazed at the floor, shaking his head once more.

Those few seconds felt like hours to Taehyung as he decided what he was to say next, how he was to protect Jeongguk. Each and every word that could escape Taehyung's lips had a chance to save Jeongguk's career, to protect him.

"-You can't be serious! You don't want to break up, right?" Jeongguk continued to cry out, voice quivering. "Y-you said that you loved me!"

Taehyung didn't say anything, His heart was beating too rapidly, not allowing Taehyung to breathe properly, his ribcage feeling tight around him.

If he had to break up with Jeongguk, Taehyung wanted to do it in a way where Jeongguk got hurt as little as possible but with how stubborn the boy was being and Jennie's piercing gaze on the pair, Taehyung realised that if he wanted to save Jeongguk's future, he had to do one thing.

Hurt him.

And so, Taehyung put up a strong facade, lifting his head up to look at Jeongguk where he forced his face to bore a careless expression. He brushed the boy's hands off of him, his skin burning from where Jeongguk grabbed him, like it was begging for him but Taehyung had to ignore that. He swallowed thickly.

"The truth is, that was- that was all a lie, Jeon."

Jeongguk felt goosebumps burning their way onto his skin when he heard Taehyung refer to him by his last name, his stomach horribly twisting and turning. "Taehyung? W-why are you calling me that?"

Taehyung clenched his fists, feeling the vicious burn of his muscles from holding in his expression, it was beyond agonising for him to continue. "I- I never loved you," he let out, words heavy.

Jeongguk widened his eyes, more tears spilling down his cheeks when he heard that, he felt his heart crack, shatter into a million pieces when he saw the careless expression on Taehyung's face that accompanied his harsh words.

"T-Taehyung, what are you saying?" The boy choked out, desperately holding in his sobs. Taehyung glanced at Jeongguk's expression and gulped, heart sinking. He looked off to the side so he couldn't see it because it hurt Taehyung to. He continued.

"I'm saying that I never felt anything while we were together, I lied to you." Taehyung let out, the words struggling to leave his mouth. "Jeon, all this time, I- I felt nothing towards you."

The moment he said that, Taehyung could never forget the sounds of Jeongguk's broken sobs ripping past his lips, he didn't have to see to know the utter devastation in Jeongguk's eyes.

"I'm s-sorry-" Taehyung whispered, his throat burning as he started to feel the urge to cry. His eyes shifted over to Jennie once more, seeing her nodding in content and that sent Taehyung's blood boiling but he concealed it.

"S-so all of it?" Jeongguk asked, sniffling, and Taehyung decided to finally look at the boy, regretting it the moment he did.

Jeongguk's expression was the embodiment of absolute heartbreak, first showing in his pretty lips from how they were trembling, then to his cheeks, seeing the tear paths that were etched onto them and then to his eyes, and oh, his eyes.

His eyes had the most broken look in them, they had a thin layer of glass, shattering when Jeongguk blinked and fell down as pieces of tears down Jeongguk's cheeks, matching his fragile heart at the moment. Taehyung breathed out shakily, guilt swallowing him whole when he knew that he was the reason for the boy's pain.

"All of it w-was a lie?" Jeongguk stammered, ignoring the heavy feeling in his stomach. "W-when you kissed me just then and a-all the times before, when y-you told me that I could trust you and asked me to be your b-boyfriend. That was all a lie?"

Taehyung bit his lip and nodded, blinking back some of his own tears. "All of it."

Jeongguk messily wiped away his tears with his palms only for more to come rolling down, he let out a soft sob. "Then I- I suppose you really were cheating on me."

It took all of Taehyung's energy to nod once more, his dark fringe masking his expression.

"Who was it a-anyway?"

Swallowing thickly, Taehyung looked at how Jennie was still watching him, squinting her eyes at him. He sighed. "J-Jennie."

Jeongguk felt a stab to the back when Taehyung uttered out the name, a deep feeling of betrayal setting in, just like the feeling with Namjoon. He sniffled once more, trying to hold in his sobs as much as possible, his chest tightening as he hung his head low. "W-well then, you got me."

Taehyung felt his heart drop at Jeongguk's defeated words, his breathing a little funny.

"You-you've lied to me for all these months, calling me baby and acting as though you were in love with me and for what? To g-get me to sleep with you or something? Jimin was r-right, I really didn't mean anything to you, did I?"

"J-Jeongguk-"

"I get it, y-you wanted to break up because you found someone else to f-fuck with, s-someone who could satisfy you better than I- I ever could."

"N-no, it isn't like that-"

Jeongguk lifted his head up to look at Taehyung once more, tears streaming down his face. "It w-was nice being with you for those few months, it felt nice having someone love me, shower me with affection, even if it was just a lie, so thanks for that I guess."

"Please-"

"Kim Taehyung, y-you got me, you got m-me good," Jeongguk whispered, backing away from the door, a forced smile on his face.

Taehyung's lips parted, the urge to cry growing even stronger with his throat on fire. He dug his nails into his palms again, heart wrenching at Jeongguk's broken state. Every fibre of his body was begging for him to grab onto Jeongguk, to tell him that he really did love him but he felt Jennie's watching eyes on him, glaring daggers.

"G-goodbye." Jeongguk finally spoke, the words barely leaving his mouth, turning away. Taehyung watched with wide eyes as Jeongguk disappeared from his line of vision, from his life maybe, his baby.

Taehyung immediately sunk to his knees after Jeongguk had left, letting a couple of tears roll down his cheeks himself. "I- I'm so fucking sorry, baby." He uttered out, clasping a hand over his mouth to stop himself from sobbing, he checked the corner to see if Jennie was still there.

Taehyung gulped when saw the girl still standing there. Eventually, she walked up to Taehyung, wrapping her arms around him, her hold feigning comfort which was nothing but unsettling to the boy.

"You did the right thing," Jennie whispered into Taehyung's ear, her voice sending chills down Taehyung's spine. Her empathetic smile was nothing but a sad excuse for one, her sinister smile being revealed underneath. Taehyung's breath went a little ragged, palms sweaty when the realisation of what he had done sunk in.

He broke up with Jeongguk.

With his heart hammering loudly in his chest, Taehyung harshly tugged onto his dark locks with both hands, muttering curses while still in Jennie's embrace. She didn't seem to care about how Taehyung was feeling, how he was so desperately tried to bite back his sobs. Of course, she didn't care. She was the one behind it all.

Taehyung scoffed at that and broke out of Jennie's hold, standing up which made the girl's eyes widen. However, she didn't say anything when Taehyung stepped into his room and shut the door on her, in fact, a smug grin reappeared on her face before she walked away, snickering.

Jeongguk didn't know how difficult it was going to be in theatre later that day.

The moment he stepped in the hall, the students erupted into hushed whispers and mumbles, throwing glances of pity at Jeongguk's direction. The boy gulped at that, trying to ignore the looks as he hastily rushed over to the teacher, he was planning on giving up his role for the play. Now that he and Taehyung were broken up, it hurt Jeongguk to even spare a glance at him.

However, just as Jeongguk was about to reach Mr. Han, he was suddenly pulled into an embrace. Jeongguk widened his eyes, not recognising the figure but he then heard them speak.

"Jeongguk, I'm so sorry!" He heard a voice cry, recognising it to be Jin's. Jeongguk looked up at the boy with furrowed brows, a dull look in his eyes.

"F-for what?"

He saw Seulgi appear next to him, a disappointed look on her face. "Haven't you heard?"

"Heard what?"

"I can't believe Taehyung would do such a thing, I honestly thought he was better than that," Yeri called out, slotting herself in between Jeongguk and Seulgi.

"What d-did he do?"

Jin pulled away from Jeongguk, looking at him with a sad smile. "You don't know, do you?"

Jeongguk blinked his big eyes in confusion, feeling both Yeri and Seulgi wrap their arms around him next. "Know what?"

Jin pursed his lips before opening his mouth to speak. "Everyone's saying that apparently-"

As if on cue, the door to the theatre hall opened to reveal Taehyung and almost immediately, everyone's eyes were on him. Jeongguk watched Taehyung with big, glittery eyes as he saw him walk into the hall, Jennie glued to his side, his left hand snaked around her waist.

Jeongguk felt his chest tighten at the sight, he gulped down a lump in his throat, eyes still fixated on the pair as he watched them walk over to Mr. Han. Biting his lip to suppress the urge to cry, Jeongguk turned back to Jin.

"Jin, what's everyone been saying?" He let out a little louder, voice strained. Jin glanced back at the boy and sighed, chewing on the inside of his cheek.

"Apparently, Taehyung asked Jennie to be his girlfriend."

Jeongguk stilled. His mouth went dry, stomach turning, it was the same shock he felt when Taehyung broke up with him earlier that day, when he broke his heart.

"N-no. You're joking, right?" Jeongguk blinked back his tears, heart sinking. Jin shook his head, pulling Jeongguk into another hug with Yeri and Seulgi still at his side until it was all just one big embrace.

"S-so that's why he broke up with me," Jeongguk whispered, his already meek voice close to breaking. "I wasn't good enough for him, was I?"

Yeri pulled away, patting Jeongguk's shoulder. "Don't say that, you were. I'm honestly so disappointed in Taehyung though, how could he leave you for someone else? Especially Jennie out of all people, I can't believe her either."

Jeongguk merely nodded, the girl's words failing to sink in, as if his body was made out of armour.

"Don't you guys know the full story?" Another voice called out which caused both Seulgi and Jin to pull back, turning around to see that it was Yugyeom.

"Yugyeom? What?" Jin mumbled, Yugyeom sighed, walking up to the group.

"What's the full story? W-why did Taehyung pick Jennie out of all people? Why did he really break up with me?" Jeongguk bombarded the boy with questions, looking at Yugyeom with pleading eyes and saw how the boy's gaze shifted to him. He breathed in.

"Jennie's pregnant with Taehyung's child."

Whatever was left of Jeongguk's shattered heart crumbled into finer pieces, brushing away like dust. He felt rooted in his place, his body was unwilling to move, tears rising to his eyes.

Was Taehyung hiding this from him the whole time?

Jeongguk tried to brush it off, giving a simple nod and forcing his lips to curve into a smile. "O-oh, that's nice then." He muttered, eyes landing on Taehyung and Jennie, how Jennie's arms were tightly around the boy. Jeongguk gulped.

Why was he so naive?

Both Yeri and Seulgi exchanged shocked glances, a hand flying over Yeri's mouth. "No way," she gasped out. Meanwhile, Jin had a look of concern etched onto his face when he saw Jeongguk, he tried reaching out for the boy. "Jeongguk, are you-?"

"I'm fine," Jeongguk reassured, slowly backing away from the group whole keeping up his forced smile. "I h-hope they're happy together then."

Why did he let himself get fooled that easily?

"I n-need to go-" Jeongguk stammered out before he rushed off, aiming to run out the door, run away from Taehyung. He couldn't bear to stay there any longer, anywhere Taehyung was. However, he was stopped when he heard a stern calling for his name.
