《BREAK A LEG | VKOOK ✓》THIRTY-THREE | SPRING DAY
Advertisement
The train ride to Busan was quite a hectic one.
See, it was a couple of days later after Jeongguk's and Taehyung's date and it was now time for the spring holidays and as promised, Jeongguk was bringing Taehyung along with him to visit his aunt as staying with his father wouldn't be as.. welcoming. Not that he minded Jeongguk staying with him, he knew he was into boys and didn't mind that but the tension between them would be fairly evident.
Besides, it would be a bit too early to introduce Taehyung to his father.
However, before everyone had said their goodbyes, Jeongguk had proudly announced their relationship to all their friends, loving the way their jaws dropped at the news. He especially loved the look of shock on his ex's face when he and Taehyung went in for a kiss in front of him.
Jeongguk hugged Hoseok goodbye, nearly about to cry from the fact that he wasn't going to see him in two weeks to which Taehyung snapped him out of it, assuring him that it won't be long before they see each other again. Hoseok scoffed at the boy, claiming that they were 'having a moment' and didn't need Taehyung to ruin it for them. Taehyung sighed.
As for Jimin, Jeongguk still hasn't talked to him ever since the whole situation. He doesn't know if Hoseok ever talked to him, they were roommates after all. Jeongguk knows that Jimin felt regret for what he had done but he couldn't find it in himself to forgive him. Not just yet.
Anyway- now he and Taehyung were crammed into a packed train, headed for Busan. Jeongguk was seated in the window seat with Taehyung right beside him, squeezing his palm. With his elbow resting on the window ledge and his cheek on his other palm, the boy was busy gazing at the farms and fields their train passed through, watching the radiant sun gleam its rays onto the vibrant colour of the landscape.
Jeongguk's lips curved into a small smile as he viewed the outside, he could see the dark blotches of green, recognising it to be the leaves off the trees. He admired staring at them, at how they stretched to the clear blue sky, sometimes blocking the sun which cast a shadow over the grass.
There was a hushed chatter amongst the passengers on the train. From small children annoying their parents with bombarding questions, asking when they would arrive at their destination to others around Jeongguk's age, presumably visiting relatives for the holidays as well.
Jeongguk let out a small sigh, feeling Taehyung lace their fingers together which made his smile grow bigger, the boy trying to conceal it by biting his lip. He then felt Taehyung lean in to peck his cheek, causing Jeongguk to turn over to him as he eventually broke out into giggle, pulling Taehyung into a kiss.
"Remember when we kissed like this the last time we were on a train?" Taehyung mumbled once they had pulled away. Jeongguk nodded, a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Yeah," the boy trailed, averting his gaze which made Taehyung chuckle fondly.
"We were so foolish." Taehyung sighed in disbelief which made Jeongguk scoff. He glanced up at the boy.
"Taehyung, that happened like- two weeks ago, not two decades ago. We've only started dating." Jeongguk deadpanned, and Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"Let me reminisce dammit." He grumbled, whacking Jeongguk's arm which earned him another scoff.
Jeongguk turned back to the window, resting his elbow on the ledge with a small smile. "I'm joking." He giggled, the scenery of outside reflecting in his doe eyes. "Did you remember to take your pills this morning?"

Taehyung nodded, looking outside the window too. "Yeah, yeah. I did, don't worry." He mumbled, and Jeongguk smiled.
"Okay, good." He murmured, looking at Taehyung's reflection through the window. "How's it going? Rehearsing for the play and everything?"
Resting his chin on Jeongguk's shoulder, Taehyung hummed. "It's going alright. M'still not used to playing the princely character but apparently I'm doing good according to Yeri."
Jeongguk let out a small giggle, "I mean- you definitely look the part." He mumbled off-handedly as he chewed the inside of his cheek, knowing damn well that Taehyung was smirking at his statement.
"Hm, really?" Taehyung teased, the smirk evident in his voice as he leaned his head on Jeongguk's shoulder. Jeongguk resisted the urge to roll his eyes "You think I'm hot-?"
"Yes." Jeongguk interrupted, no change in his facial expression. Taehyung lifted his head to look at Jeongguk with wide eyes as the boy shook his head in disbelief.
"What was I supposed to tell you? That you're not hot as fuck?" The boy huffed, watching Taehyung's smirk return from the window as he placed his head back onto his shoulder.
"I just didn't think you'd be so straight-forward this time." Taehyung's smirk changed into a smile. "Thank you though, baby. You're the prettiest."
Jeongguk's cheeks flushed, the boy shook his head in denial. "M'not pretty, stop that."
Taehyung scoffed. "You stop that. We both know that you're the prettiest baby in existence." He cooed, Jeongguk being a blushing mess. "So stop denying it. Bitch."
Jeongguk's mouth fell open in offence. "You can't just compliment me and then go on to insult me in the next sentence!" The boy's lips formed a pout. "Bitch."
Taehyung laughed at Jeongguk's antics, turning his head over for a brief moment to kiss his shoulder. "You're not a bitch, I was only joking, baby."
"Well, I wasn't," Jeongguk mumbled, brows furrowed. "Fuck you and your good looks."
Taehyung dramatically sniffled at that, a slight frown on his face. Jeongguk sighed out and turned around to press an angry kiss to Taehyung's forehead before turning back around. Taehyung's frown morphed into a small smile, he yawned.
"Thank you."
Jeongguk didn't say anything, a soft smile painted on his face with his palm pressed over his mouth as he let his mind wander for the next twenty minutes. He was super excited to visit his aunt, she was very down to earth and loved listening to Jeongguk's stories about college. Not to mention that he knew she would be thrilled to meet Taehyung.
Speaking of Taehyung.
Jeongguk noticed that he hadn't been moving for the time he had spent lost in thought. The boy leaned his ear in, only to hear the soft snores emitting from his boyfriend. He had fallen asleep on his shoulder. Oh, how the tables had turned.
However, Jeongguk's features were soon to soften when he turned around and was faced with Taehyung's restful expression. Jeongguk bit his lip to conceal a squeal and instead cupped the boy's jaw and slightly lifted his head up to kiss his cheek, letting his lips linger there for a while.
After a few seconds, Jeongguk pulled away to place Taehyung's head back onto his shoulder, his dark locks spilling onto it. "Cutie." He whispered, smiling fondly at the peaceful sight.
It continued like that for the rest of the three-hour journey to Busan, Taehyung snoring softly on Jeongguk's shoulder while the boy was silently giggling. He leaned his head back on the seat, letting out a small yawn himself, his eyelids feeling heavy.

Jeongguk widened his eyes. The boy was determined to keep himself awake. He had to be awake. Awake.
However, that plan had gone out the window when Jeongguk found himself fluttering his eyes shut, eyelids drooping with his head resting on the seat. He convinced himself that he would open his eyes soon, in just a minute. Give him some time-
-
"Jeongguk, it's time to wake up," Taehyung whispered, shaking the unconscious boy. There was no response.
"Baby?" Again, no response. Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his dark curls in disbelief. "Gguk?" He called again and raised a brow when Jeongguk remained asleep. He was suspicious.
"Are you really asleep or are you just trying to ignore me?"
However, Jeongguk laid as still as ever, that confirming Taehyung's beliefs that he was still unconscious. "You're unbelievable." Taehyung chuckled softly, brushing back Jeongguk's brown locks but his smile soon faded. Taehyung inhaled deeply.
"Jeongguk!" He shouted rather loudly, causing for a couple of people on the train to turn their way with raised eyebrows. Taehyung noticed their confused stares and wore a sheepish expression, mumbling an apology.
To Taehyung's relief, Jeongguk managed to crack an eye open, flinching slightly from the light shining in his face. He let out a groggy cry of confusion.
"You-you're awake, Taehyungie?" He mumbled, rubbing the remainder of sleep from his eyes. Taehyung kissed his cheek, smiling at his cuteness.
"I woke up about ten minutes ago. Keep yourself awake for me, yeah? We're nearly there." Taehyung explained as Jeongguk lifted his head from the seat.
"Okay.." Jeongguk nodded slowly, placing his chin on Taehyung's shoulder and squeaking when the boy leaned in for a kiss, moving his lips slowly against his.
Taehyung soon pulled away, pressing his and Jeongguk's foreheads together for a quick second. "You said your aunt was nice, right?" He asked, slightly nervous.
Jeongguk giggled, nodding again, his face extremely close to Taehyung's. "Of course. She always listens to my dumb stories about school and I'm sure she'd love to meet you." He reached over to lace his and Taehyung's fingers together.
"Really?" Taehyung perked up, eyes big.
"Really," Jeongguk reassured, brushing the pad of his thumb of Taehyung's knuckles. "Ugh, but ignore her whenever she begins rambling. She does that a lot."
Taehyung chuckled. "Whatever you say, baby." He brought up his and Jeongguk's hand, pressing a kiss to the back of the boy's hand. Jeongguk blushed.
"G-good."
× × × ×
"Jeongguk! It's so nice to see you!" His aunt cried, tightly wrapping her arms around the boy. "It's been so long! How have you been?" She asked, squishing Jeongguk's cheeks with the boy whining in protest.
"Stop that! You're embarrassing me in front of Taehyung!" Jeongguk complained, muffled. His aunt's gaze shifted to Taehyung, who was behind them, holding onto his and Jeongguk's bags as he nervously rocked on his feet.
The pair had arrived at the train station in Busan, it didn't take long for Jeongguk to find his aunt. When he did, he dropped everything to run up to her with a wide smile, letting himself be engulfed into a hug. Taehyung smiled at that, reaching down to hold onto Jeongguk's bag for him as he watched the scene.
"Oh, Jeongguk told me he was bringing someone with him. Are you another one of his friends? You definitely don't look like Jimin-"
"No!" Jeongguk cried, tensing up at the mention of Jimin. He walked over to Taehyung, grabbing his bag off of him. "Taehyung- he- he's my boyfriend.." He trailed, chewing the inside of his cheek.
Jeongguk's aunt blinked a couple of times, looking at Jeongguk and then at Taehyung. Both looked at each other with a look of apprehension before they heard her loudly gasp. A bright smile on her face.
"No, really?" She looked at Jeongguk with her eyes as wide as saucers, Jeongguk nodded and his aunt gasped once more. "Oh my gosh! Why didn't you tell me earlier, Jeongguk?" She cried, glancing at Taehyung before reaching over to pull him into a hug.
Taehyung was taken a little aback, turning to Jeongguk and watching him mouth 'she's like that'. "It's so nice to meet you then, Taehyung!" She pulled away with her smile as big as ever, her hands on Taehyung's shoulders. "You're treating Jeongguk well, aren't you?"
Taehyung pursed his lips and nodded rather quickly, gulping. Jeongguk huffed at that as he made a sound of frustration. "Hey, leave him alone-"
Jeongguk's aunt went on to squish Taehyung's cheeks, huffing. "Ah, this is no good. You need to eat more! Jeongguk, doesn't your boyfriend eat?" She patted Taehyung's cheek, bending down to grab his and Jeongguk's bags.
"W-wait. No, you don't have to. I got it-" Taehyung tried but was cut off when Jeongguk's aunt snatched the bags off of him and led him and Jeongguk to her car. "How was the trip, dear?" She turned to Jeongguk.
"Oh? It was alright. I was asleep for the most part." Jeongguk yawned, and his aunt shook her head.
"It wasn't too difficult to wake him up, was it?" She asked, her question aimed at Taehyung who had a smirk growing on his face.
"No, not at all. It totally didn't take me to shout for Jeongguk for him to wake up, startling everyone else on the train." Taehyung held back a laugh, and Jeongguk whined, shoving him by the shoulder.
"Shut up, don't act like you didn't fall asleep either." Jeongguk huffed, crossing his arms in a childish manner.
"Yeah, but at least I woke up on my own. I didn't need somebody to shout my name in order for me to wake up." Taehyung bit back which earned him a scoff from the boy.
"Yeah, yeah."
Soon enough, they had made it back to the car with Taehyung bickering about how ungrateful the boy was being when he made the effort to wake him up with Jeongguk rolling his eyes at him. He grumbled about how Taehyung was speaking nonsense, ignoring the kisses being pressed to his cheek in the car.
Once they had made it to where they would be staying, Jeongguk was the first to hop out of the car, a wide smile on his face. "God, I missed this place!" He beamed, wasting no time to rush to the door.
Meanwhile, Taehyung had gotten out of the car to help Jeongguk's aunt unload their luggage, carrying their bags to the door despite Jeongguk's aunt insisting that she will. Taehyung shook his head, ensuring her that he was fine.
"Oh, your boyfriend is definitely a keeper, Jeongguk. He's such a gentleman!" She smiled, unlocking the front door with her keys. "Have you told your father about him yet?"
Jeongguk pressed his lips in a thin line as he shook his head, getting his bag from Taehyung as a way to help. "No, not yet." He mumbled, stepping into the house and taking off his shoes. "We've only started dating and I think it would be a bit too early to introduce Taehyung to him."
Jeongguk's aunt nodded, walking over to the living room once she had taken off her own shoes. "Ah, I see." She grabbed her laptop from the table before turning to the two boys. "I have a bit of work to finish right now, make yourselves at home." Jeongguk nodded, about to head upstairs with Taehyung.
"Oh and Jeongguk?" She pointed to the boy who blinked in confusion, stopping in his tracks. "When I have time, tell me about everything that's going on. I'd love to hear about your love story!" She winked before disappearing.
"Hey- wait!" Jeongguk tried but then sighed out, he looked at Taehyung with a soft smile. "Nevermind, let's go up." He mumbled, jogging up the stairs with Taehyung following suit before opening the door to the guest room.
"You were right," Taehyung said, placing his on the bed as he unpacked a few essentials. "Your aunt is really nice."
Jeongguk nodded with a bright smile. "Told you! Sorry about before, I warned you though." He muttered, unzipping his bag and taking a few articles of clothing out, neatly placing them in the closet.
"No, don't worry about that. Your aunt is lovely. Whose side of the family is she from?" Taehyung asked, adjusting the collar of his loose button-up top around his neck.
"Oh, she's from my dad's side. I don't really talk to my relatives from my mother's side or her at all. Maybe a couple of phone calls a year but that's really it. She's a bit too busy with her own life to really pay attention to me." Jeongguk pouted, chewing on the inside of his cheek.
Taehyung didn't say anything, he merely walked to the boy and gave him a hug, kissing his cheek. "I'm sorry, baby."
Jeongguk shook his head, zipping up his bag and tossing it by the door. "Don't be, Taehyung. We all have our problems."
Taehyung nodded and also tossed his bag close to Jeongguk's when he had finished unpacking a few things.
He felt Jeongguk soon hook an arm around his as he dragged him out of the room. "Come on! We're going out again!" He beamed while Taehyung wore a look of confusion on his face.
"What? Where are we going?"
Jeongguk hastily put his shoes back on, ushering Taehyung to do the same once they had reached to the bottom of the stairs. He grinned wildly, turning to face Taehyung once he had managed to put his shoes on.
"That ice cream place I was talking to you about before! The one I used to go to when I was little, remember?"
"I've missed this so much!" Jeongguk smiled as he ate his green tea flavoured ice cream, walking out of the parlour with him and Taehyung holding hands. He had a look of frustration on his face.
"You still should've let me paid for everything, instead you had to pay for your own and mine." He grumbled, eating his strawberry ice cream. "Now I feel bad."
Jeongguk scoffed, finding a bench the two could sit on and jogged up to it before taking a seat. "You shouldn't. My aunt gives me a bit of money each time I visit her to spend on whatever I like. It's fine."
The sun was especially bright that day, shining gloriously in the sky with not a single cloud in sight. That was rare. The parlour was located by a beach where there was a cool breeze which contrasted the blazing sun. It wasn't the most popular place but it brought back memories for Jeongguk, that being one of the reasons why he dragged Taehyung out here with him in the first place.
"Hm, I still should've paid for you. I'm your boyfriend, that's what I'm supposed to do." Taehyung muttered, sitting down on the bench and Jeongguk resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He poked a finger to Taehyung's chest.
"I think you're forgetting that I'm also your boyfriend, I'm also supposed to pay for your things and make you feel happy and cared for. We're both equal." Jeongguk smiled, feeling Taehyung peck his cheek.
Taehyung reached to fiddle with the sleeves of Jeongguk's pink sweatshirt, he nodded. "Okay." He continued to munch on his ice cream. "Woah. This is like- really good though, no wonder you love this place so much."
Jeongguk licked the ice cream from his lips, looking over at Taehyung. "Is the strawberry that good?" Taehyung nodded in response.
"It really is." Taehyung chuckled and saw how Jeongguk was looking longingly at his ice cream. "Want some?"
Jeongguk nodded enthusiastically, a bit too enthusiastically as if he was waiting for Taehyung to offer it to him. Just as when Jeongguk was about to grab Taehyung's cone off of him, he was halted when he felt a pair of lips on his, a hand cupping his jaw.
Jeongguk squeaked out in surprise, big eyes blinking in confusion but he soon squeezed them shut when he felt Taehyung push his tongue past Jeongguk's lips. The boy whimpered when Taehyung pressed their tongues together, tasting the flavour of the ice cream he just had.
Taehyung kissed the boy for a couple of seconds more while Jeongguk barely made an effort to kiss back, merely clinging onto Taehyung's shirt as he let him messily kiss his mouth. He finally pulled away with a smirk, going back to eating his ice cream. "So, did you like the strawberry?"
