The next morning, Taehyung remembered to take his pills.

After swallowing the mouthful of water, the boy stopped to stare at himself in the bathroom mirror. He thought back to yesterday and everything that had happened then, especially what Jimin had said and admitted to.

See, Taehyung felt guilty for being mad at him. He did basically try to split him and Jeongguk up and although he knew what he did was wrong, Taehyung couldn't forgive him so easily. Jeongguk still thought that he was playing with his feelings and Jimin was to blame for that.

But then again, Taehyung did understand Jimin's motives, not enough to say that he did the right thing because he clearly didn't, but enough for it to make sense as to why.

However, most of this was still Jimin's fault.

Taehyung stepped out of the bathroom, seating himself on the bed and let out a small sigh, he was planning to talk to Jeongguk again but this time in a more proper and calm manner in contrast to their argument yesterday.

He does have to start by apologising though, for not telling Jeongguk earlier about him and Jimin. That part was his fault.

Taehyung ran a hand through his dark curls, swallowing. He soon picked himself up and walked over to his closet, opening the door. Quickly rummaging through his clothes before picking out a casual hoodie and jeans. What was the fucking point of dressing nicely anyway?

Taehyung jogged back into the bathroom to take one last look at himself in the mirror. He patted his curls down before giving a small smile to the mirror, exhaling. He can do this.

-

It was time for class and Taehyung was seated on his own this time as he didn't know anyone besides from Jeongguk, Jimin or Hoseok who were taking it.

And well, Taehyung couldn't just apologise to the boy now. Hoseok was still around, sitting next to Jeongguk and it was best that he would do it when they were alone. While for Jimin, Taehyung decided it was best not to talk to him. He was still undeniably mad at him despite comforting him the day before.

As the boy was busy taking out his notebook and pens, preparing for the class, he saw someone come up to him from the corner of his vision. Taehyung looked up and stilled.

It was Jimin, dressed in loose baggy clothing with his bag slung over his shoulder, he had a tired expression on his face.

What a coincidence. Taehyung stared at him for a couple more moments before going back to preparing for the class, flicking his notebook to the right page. Ignoring Jimin's presence basically.

Jimin stood there for a bit with his mouth open from that before tapping Taehyung's shoulder, giving him an aching look to just respond at him so they could talk. Taehyung sighed, realising ignoring Jimin was no use and turned to him. "What is it?" He spoke, sounding rather annoyed.

Jimin gave a sheepish smile and took a seat beside Taehyung, his hands on his lap as he placed his bag in the seat next to him. He breathed in. "I- I don't remember if I said this yesterday b-but- I'm sorry."

Taehyung's gaze remained on the boy for a good couple of seconds before turning back around, picking up his pen and twirling it around his fingers. "Okay." He murmured, disregarding Jimin's look of confusion.

"Was that all?"

Jimin blinked, then shaking his head. "N-no." He stammered, picking at the skin of his fingertips. "I- I just wanted to l-let you know that I'm really sorry for what I did to you and Jeongguk a-and I know my excuse from yesterday was bullshit and I probably said it in the wrong way but I- I really am sorry."

There was a bit of silence between the two which lasted a few seconds before Taehyung cleared his throat. He looked at Jimin directly before inhaling deeply. "Look, Jimin. I- if you're looking for forgiveness then I'm afraid I can't give you that." He let out and saw whatever left of Jimin's mood drop. "Yesterday when I comforted you, that was a one-time thing. It didn't mean that I forgave you."

Taehyung pursed his lips, swallowing thickly as he continued to look at Jimin's expression. "This is- this isn't something that you can easily forgive that easily. I get that you were upset when you said all that stuff to Jeongguk because you- you like me or whatever but can you really get mad at me for not noticing the signs?" Taehyung asked, giving Jimin a look while the boy was silent. Taehyung took this as an opportunity to carry on.

"The reason why you ever talked to me was only to hook up. I thought that's how you always saw me, a hookup. You can't expect me to spot anything if you don't drop in the signs noticeably enough." Taehyung sighed, scratching the back of his neck as Jimin listened carefully with big eyes.

Taehyung chewed on his lip, breaking eye contact for a quick moment before looking back at Jimin. "Because you've kept everything to yourself for so long, you- you took everything out on Jeongguk, he didn't deserve that."

Jimin let out a doleful sigh, nodding slowly. "I know."

"I know you know but I wish you knew that before saying everything to Jeongguk. That's practically ruined whatever we had. Now- now he won't even look at me because he doesn't trust me, imagine how I feel about that!" Taehyung cried out, pained, and Jimin merely nodded again as he remained silent.

"I get that you're sorry and everything but you can't just expect me to forgive you like that." Taehyung snapped his fingers to show his point. "Jeongguk now thinks I was only playing with his feelings because the part where we used to hook up was true a-and I know I should've told him earlier but I was planning to in a civil manner, not where I'd make Jeongguk cry and make him believe false things."

Taehyung's gaze was fixated on Jimin who had slightly teary eyes as he prepared for his final answer. "So I'm sorry, I can't forgive you."

Jimin gulped, feeling the guilt of his actions bubble up wildly inside him as his heart sank. He stood up and grabbed his bag, giving Taehyung a small smile. "I- I get it, s-sorry for bothering you."

"Yeah," Taehyung replied and Jimin blinked back his tears, he felt his heart sink further at his careless response, but sucked it up. He deserved this.

After standing there for a few moments, Jimin turned to walk away, stepping down the stairs with his head hung low as Taehyung eyed him blankly. The boy huffed, chewing on his pen lid.

He shouldn't be feeling guilty about this, Jimin didn't deserve to be forgiven that quickly.

Not yet anyway.

Class was soon to start and Taehyung was more than ready. He nonchalantly jotted down a few notes in his notebook, his eyes fixated on Jeongguk, who was a couple rows down, the whole time. Taehyung gulped, letting out a shaky sigh after, how was he going to get him alone anyway? Would Jeongguk even listen to him?

Taehyung tried to brush off the many thoughts and questions that were racing through his mind, not giving him any rest. He had to ignore them.

Taehyung saw how Jimin was seated on the other side of the hall, completely alone with a sorrowful look on his face as he busied himself with the notes he was writing. Chewing lightly on his pen, Taehyung's gaze remained on the boy for a second more before he turned away, he didn't want to think about anything.

When the class had ended, Taehyung hastily shoved his things into his bag before slinging it over his shoulder, shuffling his way to the stairs. He looked over to Jeongguk who was giving Hoseok a small smile while he was talking to him.

Should he try to get him alone now? What about Hoseok?

Taehyung didn't even know if the boy knew anything about what was going on, he kind of hoped he did so Jeongguk had someone to talk to at least.

As Taehyung began to trot down the steps, he was still mentally debating whether or not he should talk to Jeongguk, stopping in his tracks as the students behind walked around him. Oh god, should he?

He might as well. Taehyung breathed in deep, balling his hand up into a fist as he decided that he should, despite Hoseok standing there as he chatted away to Jeongguk.

His heart pounded wildly in his chest as his hands slight shook. Taehyung was beyond nervous. He began walking down the stairs again, Taehyung was just a couple of steps from making a turn to Jeongguk's row and-

Taehyung froze once more, watching with wide eyes as Jimin sped to the row Jeongguk and Hoseok were seated. Was he trying to ask for forgiveness from Jeongguk now?

The boy headed to the bottom of the stairs and saw how Jeongguk seemed to have an irked expression on his face, matching with Hoseok which made Taehyung realise that the boy probably had an idea about all this. Taehyung watched Hoseok murmur a couple of words to Jeongguk, but Hoseok then saw the desperate look in Jimin's eyes.

After a few seconds, Taehyung saw Jeongguk gave Hoseok a look to which he nodded his head and stepped down the stairs, leaving the two boys to talk. Taehyung was still staring at Jeongguk and Jimin, curious as to what they were discussing but was then startled by a sudden hand slapped onto his shoulder.

"We should really leave them to talk." A voice chuckled, and Taehyung turned to see that it was Hoseok. Wasn't he mad at him?

"Hoseok? I-"

"Sorry for yesterday, man. I didn't know the full story." He sighed, leading Taehyung to exit the hall as the boy had a puzzled look on his face. Hoseok laughed at that.

"Jeongguk told me yesterday. He told me everything about what was going on between you two." Hoseok explained as they walked out the door and into the corridors. "He also told me about what Jimin did."

Taehyung was still very much confused, a small frown on his face. "Why are- why aren't you mad at me too?" He let out and Hoseok merely smiled.

"Jeongguk told me all the things Jimin told him and to me, Jimin's words sounded like utter bullshit. Though he said that you admitted to sleeping with Jimin before, right?"

Taehyung nodded sheepishly, a tad bit ashamed for not telling Jeongguk earlier. Hoseok stood at the side of the corridor. "You didn't- sleep with him while you and Jeongguk were sorta together, did you?"

Taehyung shook his head frantically, his brows furrowed. "Of course not, I was thinking about ending things with him before I even met Jeongguk."

Hoseok nodded, crossing his arms as he rested his head on the cold wall. "Jeongguk's told me that you've been playing with his feelings and everything but I don't really believe that. You don't seem like that guy."

Taehyung shook his head once more, leaning back. "I'm not. I'd never do that to someone, Hoseok. I- I really like Jeongguk but he just doesn't trust me and that hurts."

The boy let out a light sigh, holding his hands behind his back in a casual manner. "Yeah, I get that but at the same time you've gotta remember that Jeongguk was with someone before you and got cheated on. That's probably why he doesn't trust you, he thinks you're like his ex."

"I didn't think about that," Taehyung admitted, eyes slightly wide. "Oh god, no wonder, but he has to know that I'm nothing like him." Taehyung let out, pained and Hoseok gave him a small smile.

"I know that, I've been suggesting him to talk to you again but I think he's just scared."

Taehyung blinked. "Of what?"

"Of you destroying his trust like his ex did, taking his feelings for granted which I know you won't, which I hope you won't. I think I'm starting to get through to Jeongguk though since he doesn't seem as stubborn as yesterday, just talk to him later and hope for the best, okay?"

Taehyung let out a sound of agreement, smiling but Hoseok's expression shifted as he eyed the door to the hall. "I just hope whatever Jimin's saying to Jeongguk is him telling the truth for once. Maybe once he realises that Jimin was lying to him, that'll get him to talk to you?" He tried, hope igniting in Taehyung's chest. "Why did he lie to Jeongguk anyway?"

Taehyung stilled, pursing his lips as Hoseok gazed at him for an answer. He sighed. "Jimin said it was because he- he liked me or something.."

Hoseok turned to Taehyung, his eyes grew as big as saucers with his mouth hung open. "Bro, what?" He gasped in disbelief. "Is this a love triangle or something? Okay- Woah. I did not expect that at all. Nope. Completely unexpected."

Taehyung let out a chuckle at Hoseok's behaviour, pushing himself off the wall as he strolled outside, Hoseok following from behind. "Yeah, I didn't either, to be honest. I felt bad for rejecting him and everything but-"

"You shouldn't." Hoseok interrupted, a hand on his hip. "He literally ruined whatever you had with Jeongguk. I get that he was probably acting out of jealously and spite which explains why he was so horrible to Jeongguk from what he said but that doesn't excuse anything. He still ruined everything. Even m'not talking to him."

Taehyung hummed in response, not quite knowing how to reply but Hoseok was quick to speak again. "Jimin's probably feeling horrible about what he did but don't you think he should've been happy for you and Jeongguk if you guys made it official? Like a good friend?"

Hoseok glanced at Taehyung's expression, how it seemed rather puzzled on what to think as the boy remained silent.

"Look, I've been telling to Jeongguk too in case he thinks of forgiving Jimin too easily. He's pretty pissed at him too for getting involved with you and disappearing all the time but I'm scared he'll forgive him if Jimin was to ever apologise but then again," he paused, scratching his temple. "It's his choice but I hope he makes a good one though I don't think it'll ever be the same again," Hoseok muttered, pressing his lips into a thin line.

"I'll get going now, sorry for just dumping a load of information onto you." Hoseok finally said when he didn't get yet another response from Taehyung. "Just- just think about what I said and try to talk to Jeongguk later." He called out as he walked away, Taehyung slightly raising his hand up to wave with a small smile.

The boy huffed to himself, lightly kicking the pavement as he began walking, presumably out of campus. That's what he was planning on doing in the first place. How would he even talk to Jeongguk though?

Taehyung's thoughts began racing again. What if Jeongguk doesn't want to talk to him and Hoseok was wrong? What if he never wants to see him again? What if he doesn't believe him?

Taehyung swallowed, feeling his breathing tremble but tried to calm down, he then remembered Jeongguk's advice, taking deep breaths but another thought crossed his mind.

What if Jeongguk still doesn't trust him despite whatever Hoseok told him?

The boy felt his heart beating rapidly once more, a small feeling of anxiety building up but again, he took deep breaths. Breathing in and out to calm his nerves with closed eyes, his chest heaving with each breath. He's fine, he's great.

Taehyung was about to take a final breath in before-

"You okay, Taehyung?" Another sudden voice called out, this time it sounded like it came from a female. Taehyung opened his eyes which revealed that it was Jennie who was calling out to him.

She had a concerned look on her face as she held her hands at her front, donning yet another oversized sweater with her gold necklace resting on top of the collar. Taehyung slowly nodded before nodding again, the feeling was dying down. "Yeah, yeah. I'm good."

Jennie's expression didn't budge however, in fact, it grew more concerned. "Are you? We can talk about it if you like? I saw you walking out of campus so I can get you coffee and stuff." She offered, her eyes slightly squinting for a reason unknown.

"No, it's fine-"

"Then at least accept my goddamn offer for free coffee!" She giggled, noticing Taehyung's blank expression. "You don't have to tell me what's up but at least come out to talk. We can use that time to catch up."

Taehyung looked hesitant at first but reluctantly agreed, breaking out into a slight grin. "Yeah, okay sure."

Jennie's face was blank for a moment before she grinned again. "Great!"

Taehyung drummed his fingers along the side of the cup, glancing out the window with Jennie sitting across from him. She huffed. "You sure you don't wanna talk about it?"

The boy rested his cheek on his palm, shaking his head. "I'm fine." He mumbled before looking back at Jennie, smiling. "Anyway, let's catch up. How's everything been?"

Jennie began to fiddle with the encrusted jewel on the necklace, shrugging her shoulders. "It's been alright, I guess. Much better from high school."

Taehyung let out an 'oh'. He nodded. "I'm grateful for that said. Nobody's bothering you now, are they?"

Jennie shook her head, looking at the roads through the window. "Nope, I'm fine. Everyone is really nice here, especially Jeongguk. He talks to me a lot."

Taehyung slightly froze at the mention of the boy's name but tried to brush it off, chucking softly. "Yeah, he's pretty nice to everyone around him." He took a sip from his cup, debating whether or not he should talk to Jennie about what happened. He needed someone to talk to.

"We sort of got into a fight though," he admitted weakly, and Jennie's eyes showed something indescribable for a split-second before she was gasping in shock. "So was that what was up! You're upset about the fight?"

"Yeah." Taehyung let out, chewing the inside of his cheek. Jennie had a look of intrigue on her face though, wrapping the gold chain around her finger.

"What was the fight about if you don't mind me asking?" She asked, and Taehyung tensed up once more. He bit his lip.

"I'd rather not say." He mumbled. "The fight was about something personal." Taehyung sighed, and Jennie nodded in understanding.

"Oh, that's fine." She smiled, but then Taehyung's eyes travelled down to the gold necklace Jennie was playing around with, he cocked up a brow as he was still perplexed as to why it looked strangely familiar.

"Where'd you get your necklace?"

Jennie stopped fiddling with the small jewel, she wrapped her hands around her coffee cup. There was a slight smirk on her face. "My necklace? I got it from my dad." She replied.

"Oh," Taehyung spoke. "It looks familiar for some weird reason." He muttered, finishing the last of his coffee while Jennie merely smiled.

"Really? That's weird." She trailed, slight smirk evident in her voice that Taehyung couldn't pick up on.

Her expression of surprise then changed into something- like the look in her eye. Indescribable. "Random question but-" she began, and saw how Taehyung motioned for her to carry on.

"Do you remember the party I hosted in January?" Jennie asked, her grip lightly tightening on her cup.

Taehyung furrowed his brows. "Yeah? What about it?" He replied, getting the girl to carry on once more while he checked the time on his phone.

"Well, do you remember anything that happened the morning-"

"Oh, fuck. We should really head to class right about now. Theatre's next."
