Your feet swing back and forth as you sit upon the counter top, watching as Hoseok chops up an onion beside you.
He glances out the corner of his eye quickly, giving a slight shake of his head paired with a tsk. "I thought you said you wanted to help?" his brow raises and you snort, jumping down from the counter to open the fridge.
"I did, didn't I? What are you making?"
You scan through the refrigerator filled with Sprite, protein shakes, and a lot of to-go containers.
"Chicken, rice, and vegetables. There should be some peppers in the bottom drawer." he calls over his shoulder.
You find the veggies and bring them to the sink to rinse. "You must be a good cook."
A wide bright smile creeps onto his face and you can't help but to feel like it just might be the cure for the world; this man is the actual sun.
"Not as good as Jin hyung, he might as well be a master chef, but I did pick up a few tips from him," he says, bringing out a pan from the cabinet underneath, pouring a bit of oil before turning on the stove burner.
"Is Jimin a good cook?" you ask quietly, ears pricking with curiosity as you try and contain the various questions that want to spill out like word vomit.
You sense his hesitant pause, eyes now glued to your side profile. "Why don't you ask him yourself?" Hoseok teases, watching you nervously rest the various greens on the cutting board.
"I-I would, but he's not here for me to ask-- "
"Hey, Jimin! Y/N wants to-- " Your hand quickly clamps over Hoseok's mouth, pulling his face down to meet your eye level.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" You whisper-shout, giving his head a scolding violent shake before dropping your hands.
"What?! If you want answers get them yourself!" Hoseok reciprocates your irritated whisper, side smirk firmly in place as he proceeds to casually pull the chicken out of the fridge as if you didn't just try to disconnect his head from his body.
"That won't be necessary," you retort, grabbing a knife from the wood block to carefully chop the bell peppers.
You can feel Hoseok's eyes on you, almost see his knowing expression as if you have eyes on the back of your head.
"You're scared."
You bite your lip, squinting up at him as he tosses the packaged chicken on the counter and leans back against the surface beside you. "I don't know what you're talking about," you mumble.
"You like Jimin and you're scared to admit it, you're scared to get close to him."

"No, I-- "
"It's because of the other guy, isn't it? What was his name.... Jungcock?"
Even though you don't know Hoseok that well, it's already like you're an open book to him, he must be good at reading people.
You huff, chopping the vegetables a bit more vigorously now. "Jungkook. And that other guy happens to be someone I really care about."
'Care' seems too inadequate to express how you really feel about Jungkook, but you can't seem to admit anything deeper than that to the world right now, not after what happened, what you heard beyond his bedroom door.
"Well Jungkook doesn't seem to care about you as much as you care about him," you know he doesn't mean any harm but his words stab something deep within, stomach churning, heart clenching painfully.
"Or maybe people have different ways of showing they care," you counter angrily, pressing harder into another pepper, the loud crack of knife to board deflecting off the walls.
"Sleeping behind your back is a funny way of showing it."
You roll your eyes. "I'm not his girlfriend, he can do as he pleases."
"Even if he knows it will hurt you in the end?"
You don't respond, the pace of your heart pit-patting quicker than before, hands beginning to shake as your mind rewinds the events of the past few weeks. Jungkook has always been a player, and you already knew from the start that you shouldn't expect anything else from him, but that doesn't mean his actions don't hurt.
Actually, it hurts worse than I thought it would...
"Look, you don't know me very well, but I know Jimin more than he knows himself. I can tell he really likes you, Y/N. All I'm saying is don't take his feelings for granted, he's a good guy and I know you see that in him. He... has his own personal demons, but he'll treat you right, he won't hurt you."
He's right, but you can't keep stringing Jimin along, you also can't deny anymore that you have developed feelings for him. But somehow it still feels wrong, even with Jungkook lying, sleeping around, you still can't push your true feelings down for very long without them shooting back up, forcing you to cut off anyone just for him.
You want to wait but you want to let go.
This is becoming more of a burden...
You're quickly sucked deep into your thoughts, letting the two names of the people who possess your heart the most distract you from the world surrounding.
"Ouch! SHIT!" Just your luck, now you have to deal with a knife wound to the pointer finger.

"Oh God, oh God, oh shit! Fuck-- Y/N, you're bleeding! Jimin's going to kill... "
You watch with wide eyes as Hoseok's eyes roll to the back of his head, fluttering closed as soon as he sees the blood dripping down your hand.
Before you can even manage a scream his body comes crashing to the floor like a bag of rocks.
This night seriously can't get any worse.
Jungkook's POV
"What part of get out don't you understand?"
This is the fourth time Jungkook has attempted to kick her out of the apartment, knowing that Y/N could be home at anytime and he's on edge, not wanting to risk getting caught.
As usual, he can't remember the girls name, but he can still hear her moans, the way she screamed his name and that's all that matters.
If only it was you screaming it instead.
"Oh, come on, Jungkook! Just let me stay one night."
Jungkook scoffs, leaning against the frame of the front door with his arms crossed across his bare chest. "I told you, that's not my thing. Now leave."
There's only one girl he'd let stay in his bed and she's not home yet.
Your pretty face flashes behind his eyes, those soft lips, the way your eyes sparkle every time you look at him and he smiles to himself, basking in the way you make his heart pump faster. Somehow you're the only person that can make him feel like this, an overwhelming feeling of happiness. He wants you in every way possible, except in the way you want him to.
His heart thrashes against his rib cage when you're near, but his mind recoils, fears away from the one thing that holds him back from making you his forever.
Commitment.
Almost as a defense mechanism Jungkook's mind drags deeper as a distraction, the way your hips sway when you walk, how amazing your ass looks in yoga pants, imaging how pretty your lips would look stretched, wrapped around his--
"Fine, I'll leave! But you'll regret rejecting my offer, Jeon Jungkook," the confident blonde storms away but Jungkook can only chuckle darkly, slowly shutting the door behind him.
"Get in line, I already have a long list of regrets."
Jungkook sighs, walking back into the living room his one hand carding through his already messed hair. He turns, eyeing the mirror on the wall you had set up as soon as you moved in. His eyes trail his side, over the hard muscle adoring his body to see red scratch marks his toy left. They carve from his shoulder blade to his lower back and he closes his eyes, making an attempt to breathe deeply through his nose.
Hopefully those will fade fast, until then, I should probably wear a shirt around Y/N...
Jungkook stretches sore muscles, twisting his neck from side to side. He can't deny the girl was a good fuck. She let him do whatever he wanted with her, she was an easy catch and an easy fuck. Perfect for his tastes. But he can't help but to wonder what it would be like to get you in his bed once, just to feel you even if only for a moment...
The sound of Jungkook's phone ringing catches his attention and pulls his phone out of his back pocket, squinting at the unknown caller ID.
"Hello?"
The phone is silent for a few moments and Jungkook almost thinks it might be a prank call, until they speak.
"Jungkook... it's me."
Blood running cold, Jungkook slouches back against the couch to hold the weight he can no longer carry. His ears are on fire at the familiar voice, a voice he never wanted to hear again.
"How the hell did you get this number?" Jungkook's voice is gruff, hands starting to sweat and he wipes vigorously on his jeans to ensure his phone won't slip out and shatter.
"Look, I don't have much time to talk. Listen I need a favor from you and-- "
"Why would you think I would ever help a piece of shit like you?!"
"Look here, Boy, I'm your father-- "
"No!" Jungkook shouts, voice echoes against the walls of the little apartment. He takes a deep breath, eyes shutting tight. "You ruined my life. Our lives. In my world, you don't exist."
"Jungkook, you fucking little shit you better listen to me right now or-- "
Jungkook is quick to press the end button.
He throws the phone on the couch, slowly sinking down to wrap his arms around his knees and sink his head low. For the first time in years tears fall in long streams down his face. Painful memories of his father flood his mind and a gurgled sob escapes trembling lips. Lungs feeling as if they're about to collapse, Jungkook abruptly stands, rushing into his room to put on a hoodie.
I need to get the fuck out of here...
He grabs his keys, picking up his phone again to scrolling through his contacts until he found the perfect play toy that will keep his mind away from the dark place that haunts him.
"Baby... Daddy really wants to see you right now. Where are you?"
Jungkook smiles through his tears, locking the door behind him. "Perfect, you better be ready when I get there. It's gonna be a long night."
