《evangeline. °styles》v

evangeline woke early the next morning, her bare chest pressed against harry's and her head laying upon his shoulder.

she lay in silence, watching him lay in complete peace. feeling his chest rise up and down slowly.

she thought he was absolutely gorgeous, his lips a plump peach and his eyelashes fluttering lightly.

the young girl could watch him forever.

but sadly she pulled herself away from him and slipped out of his bed, intending to go unnoticed she collected her clothes from the floor and slipped into them.

evangeline tiptoed to the door and quietly - so she didn't wake the sleeping man- unlocked it, she slipped into the hallway and was greeted by a curious looking lucinda standing outside her own door on the other side of the hallway.

"well look who it is" lucinda chimed, tapping her foot expectantly.

"oh cindy lu, i'm so sorry." evangeline responded looking at her feet, not being able to face her best friend.

"what are you sorry for? i can't wait to be your sister." lucinda squealed jumping up and down, and engulfing evangeline in a big hug.

evangeline wrapped her arms around lucinda's waist, as they stood in eachother's arms, at the end of hallway.

it was beautiful, wasn't it?

a man should never come between friendship.

lucinda knew this, she loved evangeline, so she would focus on the positives.

rather than letting her own brother, come between her & her bestfriend.

lucinda pulled back from the hug, loosening her grip from her bestfriend's shoulders.

"it's still fucking weird though."

evangeline giggled, finding humour in lucinda's honesty.

"i know cindy." she shrugged up at the taller girl.

"when did this- the you and harry thing- begin?"

"i don't really know, kind of since you came back."

"jesus! you should've told me you liked my brother"

evangeline gave her bestfriend, an incredulous look.

"are you kidding? do you know how awkward and weird that would be, plus i'm wasn't sure if how you'd react."

lucinda shrugged and hummed a little.

"that's true, i would've been grossed out."

lucinda continued,

"anyways, my parents want you to stay for dinner, are you free?"

evangeline chuckled in response,

"when am i not?"

the two girls laughed a little, feeling a lot closer after the events of the previous night.

evangeline, knew that this was truly a friendship that she couldn't bare to part with.

she really did love her bestfriend.

and even if she were to spend the rest of her life with lucinda, she was sure it would be a wonderful life.

everything about their friendship was kind of wonderful.

the afternoons they wasted away, reading magazines & playing their favourite grease record.

their relentless chatting about boys & makeup, and other mind-numbing, iq diminishing conversations.

their friendship wasn't exactly the most productive nor beneficial one. but it was comfortable, loving and undoubtedly emotionally fulfilling.

that was how the pair were to spend this very day.

with their bed hair, cherry cola and ridiculous choreographed dance moves.

the hours wasted away, in a mess of giggling and singing.

but as was steadily approaching, evangeline grew tense.

she loved and truly missed lucinda's parents but she wanted to make a good impression, for she hadn't seen them in forever.

they were awfully pretentious however, which was understandable given the fact their bank accounts both had about seven digits.

a good impression was crucial, evangeline thought, they would deem whether she was good enough to be lucinda's friend.

she also knew that she had to keep her 'relationship' with harry, a complete secret. she didn't want them to think she was a whore or something.

not to mention, she needed to look pretty and presentable. but not too presentable, that she seemed fake.

evangeline looked up from her magazine, which was flipped to a page emblazoned with the words,

glancing over at her bestfriend, she quipped,

"can i borrow a dress for tonight?"

"angie, my parents know you already. you don't need to impress them."

lucinda responded, not looking back at her bestfriend, continuing to be fully immersed in her magazine.

it seemed, to evangeline, as if her mind had just been read.

"i haven't seen them in ages, i want to make sure they remember and like me."

"fair enough, go look in my closet, you can borrow whatever."

evangeline sat up, and proceeded to scavenge through the never ending wardrobe.

it seemed as if every dress was to eccentric and expensive.

she wanted something simple and cute.

her fingers flicked over dresses upon dresses, nothing was right.

the only thought that came to mind, was that lucinda should really donate her clothes to charity.

she gave up on looking for things on hangers, and instead went over to the pile of discarded garments in the corner, basically hidden from view.

and that was where she found it.

the perfect dress, it wasn't anything special, but it was sweet and proper.

just like evangeline.
