《Children of One Piece》Son of Nami

NO POV
Back in Cocoyashi village Nami is in the house where she grew up. She decided to take the day to relax and was reading a book. She then heard pounding on her door and went to open it. Once she did she saw her older sister Nojiko standing there holding a little boy who was frantically trying to get out of her grip. Nami let out an annoyed groan.
Nami: What did he do this time?
Nojiko: Got caught shoplifting.
The boy they were talking about was Berry. The 8 year old son of Nami. Who once again was caught stealing.
Berry: Traitor
Nami: Thanks for brining him back.
Nojiko: No problem.
Nojiko set Berry on the ground, who tried to make a run for it. However Nami quickly grabbed the boy before he could get away. Nami ended hitting the boy on the head.
Nami: Berry, first of all you know it's wrong to steal. Second off all there is no point on trying to run, I'll always get you.
The two ended up bickering as Nojiko watched.
Nojiko(thought): Just like Nami and Bellemere, that boy really is Nami's son.
Nojiko began to think about the day when she first met her nephew. It was an ordinary day in Cocoyashi village. That was until Nami came back home. That wasn't the shocking part, the shocking part was that she was carrying a baby with her. Genzo completely flipped out on her. When Nami was asked about the father she didn't know who it was.
Nojiko: I'm heading back to town, so you in a bit.
Nami: Kay!
Berry: Bye Aunt Nojiko.
Once Nojiko left Nami set Berry down on the couch.
Nami: Care to explain why you were stealing again?

Berry: Hey if people like there things then they shouldn't make it so easy for me to take.
Nami let out a sigh.
Nami: There really is no denying that you're my kid.
Berry: Why do you act like you've never stole anything. People have told me stories about when you were younger. They say that you stole just as much as I did. And also you're a pirate, you steal for a living.
Berry began to rant as Nami smiled. This brought back memories of her and Bellemere. The young cat burglar wasn't sure if she was going to keep or leave Berry behind, but she took a chance a decided to raise him. And with the help of the village, it was easy. Berry liked the fact his mom was a pirate, which lead to his dream of becoming a pirate as well. As he got older Nami began to teach him how to navigate, as well a little tips on pick pocketing. Berry ended up becoming a natural at both of those things.
Nami: How about you help me pick the tangerines and we call it even?
Berry's eyes lit up as he smiled and jumped off the couch.
Berry: Ok, lets do it!
They both went out into the orchard a began to pick fruit, something Berry loved to do. Even if he couldn't become a pirate he wouldnt mind living a life doing nothing but picking tangerines. It was simple work but I relaxed the boy, something that Nami loved since it calmed the boy.
Nami: Hey Berry, if you delivery these crates to town, I'll teach you how to use my Clima-Tact.
Berry's eyes lit up. He has always been memorized by how Nami's been able to control the weather with his weapon.
Berry: Really, you're actually going to do it?
Nami shrugged her shoulders.
Nami: Yeah, why not. You're getting older, you're going to need to learn how to defend yourself some day.
With that Berry loaded up the tangerines and headed to town. Nami never thought she would become a mother. But regardless, she was happy with her decision. She loved her son.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
