《Son of Jaune Arc》Chapter 12 The Black Knight

NO POV
Jr dragged himself through the cold wasteland of Solitas. Even now with his aura active it did little to protect him from the cold. Despite the freezing winds and grimm infested terrain, it was either go through this or stay put and die. So he decided to tough it up and make the journey.
However now her was doubting whether or not he would make it all the way. The longer he's out here less he feels and the further Mantle seems to be. Thoughts about how he might die here, his body lost in the snow forever, floated around in his mind.
Finally his legs gave out and he fell to the ground. He tried to get back up but had no luck. That's when he heard a growl, one that made him fell colder than the wind. He looked to the side and saw a sabyr approaching him. The sabyr charged at Jr, all the little boy could do was curl into a ball and wish for a painless death.
However it never came. When Junior opened his eyes, the sabyr was dead on the ground. Standing next to the body of the fallen grimm was a dark figure. That's when everything went black.
Junior POV
The first thing I felt was warmth, and then comfort. As my eyes slowly opened I saw the light of a fire and a fur blanket over me. I did my best to see where I was, in a cave of some sorts. Next to the fire was a figure wearing all black armor.
???: Take it easy kid, you're muscles are going to be sore.
Sure enough he was right, but that didn't stop me from trying to sit up.
Me: Where am I.

???: In a cave not to far from where I found you. You nearly died out there, should have stayed where you were until this storm passed by.
I tried to get out from the bed but the figure came over and kept me down.
???: You need rest kid, no way you can go back out there like this.
Me: Who even are you?
BK(Black Knight): You can call me the Black Knight.
Me: Really, the Black Knight, that's the best you got?
BK: When you are ready to know who I really am I'll tell you. For now call me the Black Knight.
Me: Okay then, why did you help me?
BK: If I see a kid on the verge of death in this hell hole, I'm going to help them out. We all need help right now.
He walked back by the fire and picked up a bowl and brought it back to me. Inside was a brown liquid, which I guess was stew. I took one sip, and then started to chug the whole thing. It may have not been the best, but I was starving after everything that happened.
BK: There, feel better?
Me: Yeah, about what you said before. Does it have to do with that giant grimm?
BK: Yeah, that large grimm is called a monstra. It's even attracting grimm to the cities. What's even worse is that the people of Atlas have left Mantle to die. That's why I'm out here, to kill any grimm before it can reach the city. By the way kid, how did you end up all the way out here?
Me: Kidnapped, they were enemies of my mom and wanted to get back at her.
BK: Hey kid, what's your name?
Me: Jaune Jr Nikos.

BK: Figured as much, your mom is a wanted criminal right now.
Me: WAIT WHAT!
BK: Yeah, as I said Atlas was planning on leaving Mantle to die. Your mom and her friends didn't like that so they did something that would prevent that from happening. And now Ironwood is doing whatever it takes to capture them.
Me: So if she is being hunted, then that would mean she's in Mantle.
BK: There is also a chance she's sneaking around Atlas, but Mantle is our best option. Come on let's go.
The Black Knight got up and started walking out of the cave. I got up from the bed and quickly ran over to him.
Me: So we're going to Mantle?
BK: To be more precise I'll be dropping you off at Mantle. I still have grimm that I need to kill. Meanwhile I've heard that people been gathering in the crater. I can drop you off near there and you can find a group of people and follow them.
Me: How are going to get there?
Once we exited the cave I say a hover bike, ready to go. The Black Knight sat down on it and I sat in front of him. He reeved the engine and we took off. Luckily for me the Black Knight's large body did a good job of protecting me from the wind.
As we got near Mantle the area started to shake and eventually cracked open. The Black Knight slammed on the brakes quick enough just as the ice in front of us collapsed.
Me: Man that what was close.
The Black Knight didn't respond to me and simply walked over to the edge.
Me: Hey what are you...
My eyes widened as my body went cold. As I stared down into the ravine I saw this black liquid flowing like a river. Then the face of a grimm emerged and then dipped back down.
Me: What...what is this?
BK: Grimm, this is what they created from. Pools of darkness. No telling how many are down in there. Even worse it looks like this river is moving further in land.
Me: Is it going towards Mantle?
BK: No, it's not Mantle their after, it's Atlas. Get ready Jr, this might be the start of the end of the world.
