NO POV
Pyrrha's eyes slowly opened only to see darkness she glanced at her clock and saw that it was the middle of the night. She lied there, wondering what had caused her to wake up. And then she heard it. The whimpering of a child.
Pyrrha got up and walked over to Jr's room. She slowly opened the door and saw her son, tossing and turning on his bed. He was whimpering, clutching his stuffed ursa tightly, and had tears going down his face.
Pyrrha kneeled down by the side of his bed and lightly shook him. Jr's eyes quickly shot open but her relaxed once he saw it was his mother.
Pyrrha: Nightmare honey?
Jr nodded his head.
Pyrrha: Want to take about it?
He thought about it for a minute but then shook his head.
Pyrrha: Want to sleep with me?
Jr once again nodded his head. Pyrrha picked up Jr and took her to her room. She sat down on the bed as Jr was lying against her. She wrapped her arms around him and began to stroke his hair as Jr cuddled up against her. The two sat in silence for a few minutes until Jr talked.
Jr: How did Daddy die?
Pyrrha frowned as the memories of that night came back to her. Jr saw her face and looked down.
Jr: Sorry.
Pyrrha: It's fine, you're going to learn it one day. Might as well tell you right now.
Pyrrha thinks for a few seconds on what to say.
Pyrrha: It was towards the end of the fall of Beacon. Me and your father were going after a women named Cinder. She's a very dangerous women who was one of the people responsible for the fall. We were in a courtyard and I told Jaune I was going to fight Cinder on my own. He protested against it but I managed to silence him with a kiss. However he tricked me by throwing me in a weapons locker and went off to fight Cinder on his own. When met Cinder on the top of the tower he fought her, but he lost. She shot an arrow in his chest and then completely destroyed him. It was because of Jaune's death that a friend of mine managed to end the battle. I returned home where I found out I was pregnant with you.

Pyrrha felt something slide down her cheek. She raised her hand and touched her cheek. She was crying. Jr saw this so he wrapped his arms around her neck and hugged her. Pyrrha in return hugged him back. They stayed this way for a few minutes, not wanting to let go of each other, but then they let go.
Jr: I love you mommy.
Pyrrha kissed him on his forehead.
Pyrrha: I love you to Jr, never forget that. You know, you're a lot like your father. You're brave, smart, goofy, and have a love of Pumpkin Pete.
They both giggled. Then Pyrrha layed Jr's head on her lap. She started to stroke his hair as she sang a song to him.
By the time Pyrrha was done singing, Jr was fast asleep. She smiled at his sleeping form. But her peaceful look soon turned into one of anger. Her eyebrows narrowed as she grinded her teeth together. All at the thought of one person. Cinder Falls.
Pyrrha(thought): Years later, Cinder still continues to taunt me. And now she is affecting my son. The next time I see her I will kill her.

Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.
