NO POV
Currently flying over the forest of Vale were multiple bullheads. Inside each bullhead were multiple Atlas soldiers. Their mission is to take down a large hoard of grimm that have been causing trouble. One of the soldiers here was Coal Schnee, who only got in due to his mother's influence. Currently he was sitting down, mind elsewhere, then the Commander walked up to him.
Commander: Schnee are you ready?
Coal got up and did a salute.
Coal: YES SIR!
Commander: Good, remember, just because your a kid doesn't mean the grimm will go easy on you.
Coal sat back down until a few minutes later when they landed. The doors opened and all the soldiers got out and got into position.
Commander: Listen up, the grimm are only a few clicks from here. Soon they'll get here. When they do you'll hold your ground, DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!
Everyone: SIR YES SIR!
Everyone waited for the grimm to arrive, soon the running of multiple creatures could be heard. A large pack of beowolves and ursa appeared. The soldiers opened fire while Coal created a glyph and launched himself forwards. He then created multiple other glyphs to bounce around and take down multiple grimm.
Soldier1: Damn I got to admit, the kid is kid for only being 13.
Soldier2: That's what happens when your mother is Winter Schnee.
Ab ursa charged at Coal. In response he stuck his rapier in the ground and a giant fist made of ice appeared and launched the ursa into the sky. The giant fist swung around and knocked several other ursas back. he heard growling behind him and turned around to see an alpha beowolf. The alpha charged and Coal launched forwards with his rapier on fire. He dashed right past the alpha and cut it along the abdomen, killing it. After that he noticed the grimm retreating causing everyone to break out into cheer.

Coal(thought): Wait a minute, since when do grimm retreat? Something isn't right here.
Just then the commander piped in.
Commander: DONT DROP YOUR GUARD, NO WAY THE MISSION WAS THIS EASY!
Everyone went silent until they heard an explosion. They all turned around and saw fireballs being launched at the bullheads, destroying them. Everyone then turned back the other way to see a hoard of King Taijitu's and Death Stalkers approaching.
Commander: GET BACK TO POSITION!
The soldiers tried to fight back but were caught off guard by the powerful grimm. That only that it appears there were three other people helping the grimm. One was rather bulky, the other one was a scorpion faunas, and the last one was a lady wearing a red dress.
Coal resumed fighting, charging at a Death Stalker. The scorpion swung it's tail but Coal used a glyph to keep it in place. Coal then charged forwards and cut the tail off. The scorpion swung it's claws but Coal created more glyphs keeping those in place. He then cut off the claws like he died with the tail. Now he used fire dust the light his blade, which he stuck into the scorpion's eye. Thus killing it.
Once he killed the Death Stalker he was confronted by a snake. The snake lunged at him but Coal used a glyph shield. The snake lunged again, this time Coal stepped out of the way. The snake kept lunging, which Coal dodged. When the snake lunged again, Coal managed to stab the grimm in the eye. The snake reared back and went crazy. SO Coal summoned a knight which held the grimm in place. Coal jumped into the air and landed on top of the snake, plunging his rapier into the snake's skull. Coal got off the snake and the knight disappeared.

Coal(thought): I despise my mom, but she turned me into a hell of a fighter.
Coal turned around to face his fellow soldiers, only to be meet with a horrible sight.
Coal POV
All I saw in front of me was carnage. Everywhere were the bodies of my fellow soldiers. They were either burning or mutilated from the grimm. I couldn't take it, the carnage was to much for me. I fell to the ground; shaking and tears spilling out. I let out a scream of horror and heard people approaching me. I quickly turned around a saw three people. One was a lady with a red dress and black hair. The other had long brown hair and a scorpion tail. The last guy was big and had tanned skin.
Big: Hey one's still alive.
Scorpion: Lets kill him and leave.
Red: Hold on guys I recognize this kid. It's Coal Schnee.
Scorpion: A Schnee huh, let me mutilate him.
Red: Hang on, he may be the guy we need.
Big: Are you sure?
Red: Someone with the power of the Schnee's glyphs working with us, plus I would like to see him murder his entire family.
My fear disappeared and was replaced by anger. I picked up my rapier and charged forwards. However a red sword appeared out of no where and sliced my arm off. I fell to the ground as blood spewed from my wound. The big man came over to me and picked me up by my neck.
Big: Watts is gonna love playing with you.
I noticed that a King Taijitu appeared behind him. He threw to the ground and the snake appeared over me. The snake lunged at me and swallowed me whole.
Me(thought): Mom.......I'm sorry.........I wasn't strong enough.
Those were my lost thoughts until I blacked out.
NO POV
It has been a week since Coal has disappeared. Winter was pacing in her office talking to someone on her scroll.
Winter: What do you mean they're calling back the search parties!?
Guy: There is no sign of him. Ironwood is calling us back, said we need to focus on the rising amount of grimm in the area.
Winter: What about Coal!?
Guy: To be honest mam, he's most likely dead-
The guy didn't get to finish his sentence since Winter threw her scroll against the ground, shattering it. Winter walked over to her desk and sat down, covering her head with her arms. She began to cry.
Winter: Coal, I'm sorry. Please don't be dead. I don't care if you even hat me, just don't die.

Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5. The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.
