NO POV

Kai has now been flying for hours now. Just obtaining his powers and due to the fact he is 7, it's surprising he has been able to fly for this long. What's been keeping him going was him wanting to reunite with his mother again. It was now night and Kai was having trouble staying in the air.

Luckily it was then an island came into view. Using whatever strength he had left, Kai quickly flew to the island. He made it to the shore just as he ran out of energy. His wings disappeared in a puff of smoke as he crashed onto the sandy beach. Kai flipped over onto his back and lied there as he rested. He soon found himself staring up at the star filled sky. Memories of him and his mom spending nights together just staring at the night skilled played through his mind. He then dozed off.

The light of the rising sun woke up Kai early. Slowly getting up, Kai began to look around him to see where he was. The white sandy beach continued to stretch on farther than he could see. Behind him there was a jungle.

Kai: Better get going, I have to find mom quickly.

Right after he said that he heard his stomach rumbling.

Kai: Right, I wont get far if I dont eat anything, there's probably food in the jungle.

Kai entered the thick jungle, looking at every tree so see if there was fruit dangling from it. After walking around for a few minutes he found a tall tree with bananas hanging from it. Smiling at his luck, Kai managed to get his wings to reappear as he flew up to the fruit. As he was about to grab it they suddenly disappeared. Shocked, Kai looked around until he found a monkey holding the bananas. The monkey had light red fur and was wearing a fedora.

Kai: Hey those are mine.

The monkey stuck out his tongue, mocking Kai. Kai flew at the monkey, but it jumped out of the way. The monkey started to leap away as Kai gave into the pursuit. The monkey had an easier time navigating through the jungle as Kai had to dodge all of the trees. Luckily, when the monkey landed on one of the branches, it broke. The monkey fell to the ground as Kai landed right next to it.

Kai: Give me those back, I saw them first!

The monkey blew a raspberry as the two started to argue. They both stopped the moment they heard a growl. Slowly turning around, they came face to face with a large jaguar. The jaguar let out a loud growl which made both Kai and the monkey scream. Kai took off flying as the monkey started to run and the jaguar took pursuit.

Kai flew as fast as he could which was hard due to the trees. However he notice that the jaguar wasn't after him but instead the monkey, who was having a hard time running away. Feeling bad, Kai quickly swooped down and grabbed the monkey. Now the jaguar was after Kai as well. Kai continued to fly as the jaguar was chasing after them, but started to slow down.

Kai: Looks like we are home fr...

Kai didn't finish his sentence as he suddenly crashed right into a tree. He and the monkey fell right to the ground. When they got up they were face to face with the hungry jaguar that let out another roar. Kai let out a scream as he curled up into a ball.

Kai(thought): Sorry mom, looks like I we wont see each other again.

However Kai never felt the claws or fangs of the jaguar. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw that the jaguar lied on the floor unconscious. In front of him was a gorilla with light red fur wearing a fedora that also had a tail. The gorilla then shrunk back down into the monkey from before.

Kai: What the...

An hour later Kai and Peaches sat together on the beach eating the bananas. Turns out the monkey was named Peaches and was able to write. Allowing Kai to hear out his story.

Peaches was once apart of a pirate crew, it was there he learned how to write. However a large stormy managed to sink the entire ship along with its crew. Peaches got washed away by the current and landed on the island. It was here he came across a strange looking blue melon with swirls. It turns out that was the . That's how Peaches was able to transform.

It was after Peaches ate this fruit that the other monkeys became scared of him and he became an outsider. Peaches hopes that one day he would be able to get off the island and look to see if anybody from his old crew survived.

Kai and Peaches spent the rest of the day together, eating, talking, and playing. As the sun rose the next day Kai got ready to go back on his journey for his mother. Peaches was there to so him go off. Kai summoned his wings and got ready to go off. However as he was about to take flight, he noticed a sad look on Peaches's face. Kai dropped back to the ground and walked back to him.

Kai: Seeing as you got no where to go and how I dont know how to defend myself, why dont you come with me. We both have people that we are looking for in this world, we might find them if we work together. What do you say?

Peaches started making happy squeaks and grunts as he climbed onto Kai's shoulders. The two then took flight, off to find the people they lost.
