Just when I was about to hold her from doing anything she might regret later another hard slap echoes through the silent corridor. The guy who was with aunty before rushes at the witness of this scene and before kinza slaps her again. I hold her wrist which was ready to slap her again and pulled her towards me.
"What the hell are you doing?" I mutter in hushed tone so only she could hear but she doesn't stop and fights against me to choose more violence "why the hell did you come now?! Was humiliating us infront of everyone not enough that you came and gifted us this surprise!!" She screams on top of her lungs forgetting that this is a hospital and she would be thrown out if she keeps yelling.
"You knew abbu is a heart patient yet you came just to do what?! Kill him?!" She sobs feeling powerless under my strength who is holding her back from doing anything "Kinza listen to me-" the girl in my arms again gets mad and screams on top of her lungs before throwing her legs in frustrated.
"I don't want to listen to any of your shit, get lost!! Say her to go!!" A gasp leaves my lips when she pushes me away with all her force just to go hit her sister, But I move fast and hold her by her waist before anybody else or the nurse could touch her.
She screams and curses in frustration and the mental breakdown she was going through after hearing her dad's health and chances of him being alive...she pours all the frustration out and not knowing how to handle her. I force her to hide her head on my chest.
"Shh calm down calm down" I whisper in her ear but only hear her mumbling the same words again and again "Tell her to leave please tell her to go" I nod at her words caressing her head to calm her down. My eyes stinging with tears seeing her like this.
"Sir please calm your wife. Or else we would be forced to take strict action" the nurse who took us to the doctor speaks in a stern voice and a loud gasp of surprise leaves Zaina's lips when the nurse mentions kinza as my wife.
"Yeah sorry" I mumble but do not break the hug, kinza doesn't hug me back looking all weak after the outburst.
"You guys are married" even after seeing Kinza in such vulnerable state Zaina does not leave her and opens her mouth when she should not.
I silently pray that kinza should not make another scene "let's go hmm?" I ask the girl who is pressed against my body as she looks up with those pair of painful eyes and gives me a subtle nods. My hand automatically moves up to wipe her tears.
"Kinza how can you marry him even after knowing..." she trails of while shaking her head in disbelief and at this incomplete sentence my eyebrows jump up in confusion.
When I hear kinza sobbing quietly I ignore the other girl and walk through the corridor towards the room where Kinza's father is.
"No...I am not hungry, please I'll eat later" she whines and shakes her head at my glare. Knowing that she is just going to stuff her mouth forcefully I still insist but she does not listen.
I glance over my shoulder to see Kinza's father lying on the bed still not awake which is scaring each soul present over here.

Aunty left just two hours ago to take some rest so kinza and I are the only on here but I need to leave now because of an important work and when Kinza saw me spacing out she scolded me for not handling my work when needed to so I'll be leaving now without wanting too.
I move my hand up to tuck her hair inside her hijaab which is messed up "I'll be leaving" I tell her as I fix her hijaab enjoying the baby face she is giving me when I am fixing her hijaab.
"Yeah...first go and eat something you didn't eat your breakfast too" she warns me only to earn a glare from me "look who is scolding me" she pouts and again repeats the same words so I could reply what she wants to hear.
I nod but hold her hands gently caressing her knuckles "do you want me to bring something when I return?" She shakes her head as a no so I nod pulling out a new phone from my pocket and I place it on her hand.
She frowns confused so I explain her "I didn't know you didn't have a phone your ammi said me now when I dropped her that your phone is broken so here take this I have saved my number—call me whenever you need something okay?" She blinks looking all surprised before a 'thankyou' leaves her mouth in a whisper.
"I am sorry because of me you are—" with an eye roll I cut her off not liking where this is going "keep that to yourself, eat that up I don't want to listen to that rubbish" I speak totally annoyed when she started to act like I am a stranger but soon my heart jumps out of my chest when her soft giggles which I was dying to hear leaves her lips.
After all the cries I have heard that giggle which can make my day.
"Am I not allowed to even say a thankyou" she grins against her will and I quickly shake my head "No your not you can repay me in another way but not with a thankyou don't you think it has become an old fashion already" she quietly laughs and nods agreeing to me "How should I repay you mister husband?" She raises her eyebrow jumping into her playful character which I love the most.
"You should repay it like a wife, Miss wifey" I smile at this cute girl and act a little bolder in a wrong place knowing that she won't be able to understand the hidden meaning behind my simple sentence.
"Like a wife? Do you want me to cook something?" A confuse frown drops on her face but the shy smile she passed when I called her miss wifey didn't go unnoticed by me.
A chuckle leaves my lips expecting this answer from her.
"Remember that you need to repay me...I'll be telling you how to and where to later hmm?" She innocently nods and I am slapping myself mentally for acting so bold all of a sudden.
God I need to stop playing with my wife's innocence.
"Then..I'll be leaving now" she nods holding her phone tightly. Feeing like I should not ignore my heart and do what he is saying I move forward and cup her cheeks to press my lips against her forehead giving her tight yet simple kiss on her forehead.
She holds my shirt tightly at this sudden bold move of mine but smiles to tell me that she liked it. I rub my thumb on her swollen eyes which are still red and numb "take care" I don't know why I am being so dramatic on leaving her and this nice cliche shit I am doing, I never thought I would be doing ever in my life.

Well, things happens...and sometimes you doubt on yourself asking if you really are doing it and that's what I am doing now asking myself what is wrong with me.
I finally stop myself from touching her and walk towards the door but take a peek at kinza who is nibbling on her lower lip while fiddling with her phone. With a sigh I leave the room but my mind screams at me to turn my heels when I see Zaina standing all alone still crying but when her eyes caught mines she quickly wipes her tears away and stares into my orbs which radiates only hatred.
"Ayaan" my name leaves her lips in a whisper not at all enjoying her presence I try to walk away but a gentle tuck on my arm stops me from walking further.
I look over my shoulder to see her looking at me with a guilty pleading look. "Let me explain for once please" she pleads in a whisper and not knowing what to do I stay quiet.
"Please" she again pleads and with a sigh I accept her plead against my will. With a nod she follows me. Everyone should be given a chance to say their words right? I guess so and I hope I do not regret listening to her.
I rub my eyes and with a jolt I wake up when my phone rings non stop which Is kept on the table. Without looking at who is calling me I press the phone near my ear only to pull it back when Kinza's loud voice was heard.
"Ayaan!!" She screams loudly and I can tell from her tone that she is happy.
"Ya Allah kinza that was too loud" I rub my ears still half asleep but hear her giggling "Abbu woke up just few minutes ago" she laughs looking all happy and a smile automatically makes it's way on my lips. But hear his abbu's weak voice from behind telling her something.
"Alhamdulillah that's great news...You are alone? Or with someone?" I question her and she quickly replies "I am with abbu alone" I hum in response "I need to call ammi now but I only had your number so I thought of telling you first" I smile at her sweet words "hmm...did you eat something? Do you want me to bring you something?" I ask her "Yes! Bring me lots of food I am hungry...I ate nothing since morning" a chuckle leaves my lips when she enters her kinza character of being a foody.
"Okay I will" My voice coming out low and calm, and soon I cut the call to get ready to leave to the hospital.
I lick my dry lips feeling nervous all of a sudden to face Kinza's dad, who is the sweetest but still I do not feel comfortable around Kinza's family for some reasons.
Silent hushed voices can be heard from the room, I rub my palm on my pants before twisting the door knob open to go in.
Everybody goes silent at the door opening and my presence and when Kinza who is sitting beside her Abbu grins brightly while looking at me I fail to keep a straight face, I only make an eye contact with her feeling uncomfortable under all the stares.
"Come in" Kinza like always speaks loudly, with a nod I walk towards her who is sitting in a round chair which can be rotated in any direction she like a kid dance from here to there playing with the chair and I hold myself from chuckling at her cuteness. Her face still looks tired but that bright smile is hiding her swollen eyes and dark circles.
"How are you...?" Again I trail of feeling uncomfortable to call him Abbu all of a sudden "Are you feeling good now?" The old man who has many wires attached to his wrist nods with a smile "Alhamdulillah I am fine now" I nod and before we could fall upon silence Kinza speaks "What did you bring? I am hungry" I glare at her sentence not liking the fact that she is keeping her stomach empty since morning only to hear her giggle understanding my glare.
"Abbu see because of you he is glaring at me" I look at her with wide eyes at her bluntness "If you did not give me a mini heart attack and worried me about your health I would have silently ate but now see he is glaring at me for not being a good girl" she gives her dad a playful glare who laughs and nods taking the blame on his self. "From now on don't worry me about your health and be all fit an fine okay young man?? Or else your son in law is gonna get upset with me for skipping my food"
I shake my head at this girls choice of words and the way she scolds other. I hold her arm so she could jump of the tall chair which I can imagine her jumping and jumping so she could sit on it—I won't be surprised if she say she tripped while sitting. Because I know how clumsy she can be at times.
"This chair is nice" she pats the chair but hops off "Ammi did you eat?" She asks her mother who is silent since I entered "yes darling I did" kinza nods believing her words and walks towards the couch and my eyes falls upon the girl who I thought I would hate for the rest of my life standing in the corner looking at everyone with silence and when I look at her I find her staring at me already.
I break our eye contact quickly and sit beside kinza who looks way too excited as she opens the box filled with healthy yet delicious food.
Without wasting any time she digs in "what did the doctor say?" I speak in a low voice so only she could here, she looks at me with wide eyes and chews the food before contemplating whether she should eat first or speak "Swallow that first" I chuckle when she covers her mouth feeling her mouth full after taking a big bite desperately.
Just after gulping she starts as if she was waiting to tell me this but forgot because of her first preference which is food "He said abbu is doing good now and they will be keeping him here for seven days till they assure that he is fit to walk around" I nod intertwining my finger together as I sit there quietly admiring the girl who really looks hungry "Did you eat?" She asks me and I give her nod "I did just few hours ago" she hums in response but her eyes drops towards my shoulder or something behind me so I straighten up only to feel someone standing behind me.
I look over my shoulder to see Zaina looking at me with a smile. Not knowing what to do I peek at kinza who has stopped eating and now is glaring at her sister whose eyes are only on me.
Feeling uncomfortable under the stare I raise my eyebrow asking her to speak or move away because she is just a inch away from touching my knee.
"Ayaan?" She calls out for me in a very sweet tone "yes?" I reply not feeling like giving her a cold shoulder anymore after talking to her.
"I umm" she looks over her shoulder to see her parents and another girl who I am not aware about looking at us "I just wanted to thankyou...I didn't thanked you before for dropping me at my home so yeah thankyou for taking your time and dropping me" my eyebrows jumping up in confusion not at all liking the fact that she is mentioning this infront of everyone when she could have personally said me or when nobody was there.
What is she trying to do?
