Sheriff Burke looked through the window of Katherine Prescott's room, seeing Sidney and Neil sitting by her bedside, waiting for her to wake up.
Katherine was unresponsive to anyone as she was suspected of being in shock when she arrived at the hospital until she became hysterical and had to be sedated.
Sheriff Burke sighed, very much needing a cigarette. He had taken statements from Dewey, Sidney, and Randy Meeks. He ran a hand through his thinning grey hair.
Guilt hit him hard when he heard that it was, in fact, Billy Loomis who had orchestrated this murder spree, and they had him but let him go.
"Sir?" Sheriff Burke turned to see Dewey and another officer walking up to him. "Dewey, shouldn't you be resting."
Dewey smiled sadly but shook his head. "I've rested enough."
The other officer coughed as he held a piece of paper in his hand. "Sheriff, this is the list of casualties from the house."
The sheriff nodded. "Thanks, Larry" the younger officer nodded and walked away, patting Dewey on the should as he goes.
Sheriff Burke looks at the list. "Okay, so, Kenny Jones, who was Ms. Weathers Cameraman, Billy Loomis, and Tatum Ri..."
Sheriff Burke looked up to see Dewey with tears in his eyes, "Dewey, I'm sorry for your loss."
Dewey shook his head, feeling tears running down his face. "My mom is hysterical. I don't know what to do" The younger man wiped his tears away, trying to remember the happier times of his younger sister.
"It says here that she was found on the floor of the Macher's garage covered in a sheet?" Dewey nodded sadly, remembering when they found Tatum, "but when I interviewed Sidney, she told me she found her hanging from the pet flap in the garage door?".
Dewey felt a little sick; he never knew how his sister had died, but they had told him her head had been crushed by something powerful, and her neck was snapped. He couldn't imagine the terror she felt.
"So somebody moved her?" Dewey whispered to Sheriff Burke, who nodded shortly. "Sidney told me it was her and Katherine who found her, but Katherine made her run to safety...".
Sheriff Burke looked through the window again at the battered and bruised body of Katherine Prescott. "That girl there saved lives and helped people even when she was in danger."
The sheriff cleared his throat, looking at the paper again, and stopped, shocked, "Did you not recover Stuart Macher's body?"
Dewey looked startled too. "Sidney said she killed him with a blow to the head in self-defense," Sheriff Burke explained to the younger man.
"So he's still alive and out there?" Dewey muttered in shock. "Should we tell them?" he asked, nodding to the family in the room.
Sheriff Burke shook his head slowly. "He'd be long gone by now... No, we'll keep this strictly confidential" Dewey nodded unsurely but nodded anyway. Looking back through the window, he noticed the bedridden girl starting to stir.

I groaned in pain and tried to move, "Kat?" I heard from the left side of me, I attempted to speak, but nothing came out, "Quick dad, get a nurse." a familiar voice called out.
I heard footsteps move away quickly. My eyes felt like there were burning as I opened them a little seeing a dark silhouette leaning over me.
"Kat?" the voice called again as my sight focused,
I saw it was my sister smiling at me, "Sid?" I croaked quietly as she nodded at me, tears falling down her cheeks.

"Ah, there you are, Miss Prescott" I turned to see a female nurse smiling at me with my Dad and another doctor following them. The nurse started checking the IV.
The Doctor pulled out a penlight and shined it into my eyes a couple of times, "I'm Doctor Englund. How are you feeling, Katherine?" He asked me, carefully checking my eyes.
I turned to him with a frown. "What do you think?" I hissed as he pressed on my stomach, checking my stab wounds, lifting up my arm. I realized it was in a red cast.
Glancing at my Dad with a questioning look, he smoothed my hair lovingly. "You broke your arm, sweetie. Sidney told them red was your favorite color for your cast," he explained, watching my face closely.
"Well, you seem to be healing nicely," The Doctor spoke, pulling the covers back over me. "The Sheriff and Deputy Riley are here to talk to you. Is that okay?" The Doctor asked gently as I grimaced, unsure not wanting to talk about it.
The Doctor waved in Sheriff Burke and Dewey when I finally agreed, "Hey," I greeted them quietly.
"Do you want us to stay" Dad questioned softly with a gentle smile.
I shook my head. "I'm okay thanks," Dad and Sid left the room quietly, watching me from the window.
Dewey and Sheriff Burke sat by my bedside, giving me small smiles. I notice Dewey winced when he sat down. He was obviously still in pain, probably physical and mental.
Pulling out a notebook Sheriff Burke let out a puff of air. "So Katherine, I understand this is very hard for you, but Deputy Dewey and I have some questions for you" I nodded internally, reading myself.
"Deputy" Dewey considered Sheriff Burke for a moment before looking at me sadly,
"Sidney told us in her statement that you found...Tatum..." he paused, struggling to get the name out.
"Can you tell us how you found her, please" I stared at Dewey sadly as a wave of guilt hit me
"Sidney and I were running from the killer, and we fell from the roof. That's when we saw Tatum hanging from the garage door," I told them softly.
Dewey nodded his head, slowly writing down what I had said. "When the paramedics found her body, she was lay on the floor covered in a sheet," He said as a few tears rolled down my face.
"When we found her, I knew that you would have to see her, and I knew she wouldn't have wanted anyone seeing her like that, so I pulled her down and put a sheet over her" more tears fell from my eyes when I saw Dewey was struggling not to break.
"I'm so sorry, Dewey" the older man looked at me confused until I told him about Stu and me, how I thought that she had left after Stu broke up with her.
"It's not your fault Kat."
Sheriff Burke sighed heavily. "Okay, Katherine, from the start, can you tell us about the night in question," I began telling them everything that happened at the party.
"everyone left once we heard about Principal Himbry. I went upstairs to sleep the alcohol off when I woke up I heard Sidney screaming..."
🔪
Sidney sighed, seeing her sister crying. "She'll be okay," she whispered to herself, crossing her arms in a sort of self hug. Sidney felt guilty for when she got jealous of Billy, wanting to keep Kat alive.
She knew there had to be a reason why but now Billy and Stu were dead, nobody will ever know, their killer ex-boyfriends took that secret to their graves.

The elder Prescott twin jumped, seeing Kat screaming and ripping the IV and wires from her "Dad!" she cried as doctors and nurses ran into her sister's room, trying to calm her.
Her Dad held her in his arms as they both watched in horror as Kat became hysterical and getting sedated again. "Why is this happening, dad?" She asked her father emotionally.
"I don't know, sweetheart," her Dad told her honestly. They watched as the room was vacated, leaving only Kat breathing slowly, finally looking peaceful.
"Mr. Prescott?" They both looked at the Doctor who was walking towards them
"What's happening to my sister?" Sidney begged as the Doctor gave her a tight smile.
"Well, we believe she is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I think it's best for the hospital's psychiatrist talks to her," The Doctor told them writing something on the clipboard.
Sidney watched as her Dad's eye widen in shock "psychiatrist? my daughter is not crazy."
Doctor Englund shook his head with sympathy "no, but after the night she's had, you've all had, it's no surprise that she is experiencing trauma like this."
"Mr and Miss Prescott?" The three of them face the voice as Doctor Englund introduced them "This is Thomas Kruger. He is the hospital's psychiatrist."
Sidney shook hand with the man who was looking at her through his glasses. "Dr. Kruger, Katherine is this way," Doctor Englund told the other man, who nodded once and followed behind him as they walked away.
Watching from the window, Sidney frowned as the psychiatrist talked to her sister, who looked very relaxed from the medication, she wondered what Dr. Kruger was writing about, but she knew it couldn't be good.
Sidney observed as Kruger stood up slowly and patted her sister on the shoulder before leaving the room silently as if he didn't want to disturb Kat. "Well, what the verdict, doc?" her Dad asked, appearing nervous.
Dr. Kruger sighed, removing his glasses and rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I do believe Katherine is suffering from PTSD, but I also believe she had other underlying problems."
Sidney agreed she knew that Kat was always angry and hateful, she thought that was just her personality, but now she wasn't so sure. "So what now?" she asked quietly.
"I think it is in Katherine's best interest if she is moved to Westin Hills as an inpatient."
The older twin gasped as her father breathed, rubbing a hand over his face "Westin Hills the psychiatric hospital?" Sidney asked unevenly, not want her little sister out of her sight.
"Sidney, maybe this is what's best for Kat," Her Dad spoke, glancing back into the hospital room,
Sidney stared at her Dad, shocked, before nodding, "Okay, if it helps her."
That night Sidney walked into her sister's room. It was precisely how she's left it, sighing; she started packing some of her sister's clothes, drawing books, shoes, and makeup.
Walking past Kat's desk, she knocked over a box that spilled all over the floor, swearing. Sidney started picking up all the dropped items before she saw a folder hidden under the desk.
Sidney gasped, pulling out the manilla folder, putting her hand to her mouth when she saw pictures
of her mother sleeping and kissing other men turning over the photo seeing the words in deep red 'Now You Know.'
Sidney questioned who sent Kat these pictures; no wonder she was so hateful towards their mother. She knew her secrets and obviously punishing her for it.
Putting the pictures back in the folder, Sidney ripped it up angrily before taking her sister's stuff downstairs where her father was waiting.
"Dr. Kruger has called the Westin Hills doctors to pick up Katherine for the hospital, and they want us to meet them at the facility," he said quietly, still sound in disbelief.
"Are you okay, sweetie? You seem upset?" Sidney glanced at her father, a hundred questions on her mind, but none of them mattered right now,
"No. It doesn't matter anymore."
🔪
Sighing, Kat observed the building in front of her. "I want to go home," I told the doctors, who just smiled sympathetically at me,
"I'm sorry, sweetheart, you can't."
Walking into the big building, I looked around, seeing people of all ages everywhere. "Hello, you must be Katherine" I looked in front of me to see an aging woman, at least in her mid-fifties.
"I'm Sue. I'll be your carer. Everyone under the age of 21 gets one. So shall I show you to your room" I studied Sue; she made me feel comfortable for a total stranger.
Sue had dark blonde hair, which looked light brown when she moved into a different light. She seemed very youthful despite her age except for the smile lines she had.
Nodding, I followed Sue down corridors that became color-coded. "Why are the halls different colors?" I questioned. Sue turned to me and smiled.
"The halls are colored to help us know who goes where, and also its for us to know where to put our patients in terms of mental health and other things."
I wondered where they would put me. "How many are there here my age?" I asked, crossing my arms cold from wearing nothing except hospital scrubs
"Well, not that many, but everyone is nice," I sighed, wanting nothing more than to go home and be in my room.
Sue lead me on for a little longer before stopping at a red area where my 'carer' opened the door showing a room with a bed, desk, window, and en suite.
"This is your room" I walked into the room, stopping by the window giggling to myself when I saw people bouncing around on space hoppers. I turned to see Sue writing my name on my door.
"So when can I go home," laughing Sue turned to me,
"you've only just got here, Katherine," she answered, rubbing my shoulder being careful of my cuts and bruises.
"Kat," I croaked as Sue eyed me, confused.
"Sorry?" I moved away, gazing around the small room and noticing how empty it felt.
"Call me Kat." The woman nodded, rubbing out the nameplate and writing my preferred name instead.
Sue just watched me get to know my surrounding before a ringing came from her pocket. "Sue Taylor," she answered quickly, saying her name, "Yes, we are in her room now, yes in room 1214".
Putting down her phone, she looked at me, smiling. "I'll be right back."
My head shot up as I ran to her. "No!" grabbing her arm tightly, I pulled her back into the room.
"Kat, let go of me," Sue stated calmly, but I just held on to her tightly.
"Rule 3, never say I'll be back," I mumbled to her as I heard voices coming from the hallway.
"Katherine calm down nothing can happen here" Shaking my head, I could feel tears rolling down my face.
"You don't know that," I hissed, giving her a small shake.
"Is everything okay here" I heard a voice behind me say
"Everything is fine, Stephen," Sue smiling at me before looking over my shoulder whispering.
"Trigger" Sue put her hands over mine softly as I breathed raggedly.
"Kat, are you okay?" I turned slowly, seeing my Dad and Sidney at the door, worried
"Rule 3," I stated to them, noticing their confused faces. "She won't come back if I let her go."
"Nothing is going to happen, Kat" feeling my Dad's hands slip into mine, I center myself again.
"I'm sorry," I apologized, letting go of Sue, who just gave me a kind smile before writing something on a piece of paper in her pocket.
Moving over to the bed, I lay on my side, staring out of the window before I felt the bed dip as Sidney lay behind me, stroking my hair softly. "I'm sorry this all happened, but it will get better. I promise".
We lay together for a while as Sue, and my Dad sorted out my personal belongings seeing what I could have and what I couldn't. Other than my clothes with sharp edges and shoelaces, I could keep everything else.
Sidney got up and walked away, leaving me cold before I felt her sitting back down. "Here, I got you a surprise. I looked up to see her holding the stuffed giraffe I had since I was a baby "Gigi," I cried, taking the animal from her. "Thanks," I whispered quietly, hugging the animal.
"I think it's time for goodbye's now, Katherine" I shot up in bed and turned my head in my Dad's direction.
"Please don't leave me here," I cried hysterically. "I want to go home."
Grabbing Sidney's arm, my nails began to cut into her skin as she started to breakdown, seeing me cry. "I'm so sorry little bird," Sidney whispered before running out of the room.
Dad just kissed me on the forehead gently, "I love you," before leaving me alone. I was scared. Clutching Gigi to my chest, I lay back down, wishing this was all just a dream.

In another place, two men sat together, patching up the youngest of the two. "What the hell happened?" the older man spat dangerously.
"It was supposed to be quick and easy" the younger of the two shook his head, not looking the other in the eye. "He went crazy. I couldn't stop him. He went too far."
The older man shook his head, thinking about how it was supposed to go. "The sequel is still on, but I'm bringing in some help" the younger one looked at, the older with nothing but admiration.
"So who are we recruiting?" he questioned, seeing a manic look in his eye.
"Don't you worry about that. You just worry about keeping tabs on the twins" The older man left, the younger to think over his plan.
He needed someone who would get the job done this time, someone who would want their revenge and smirked devilishly. "I've got just the person."

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
