Daryl and I have been walking towards his home for about 2 hours now, and still nothing. He told me about 20 minutes ago that we're a half an hour away, but for some reason I feel like he's lying. He's barley said anything to me, and I've barely said anything to him. While we're walking through the woods, he all of a sudden stops. "What's wrong?" I ask with concern. He quickly runs behind a tree. "Nothin', just trying to get a good look at home." You try to see the place he's talking about, but you can't see very well over the trees. "C'mon." You and Daryl end up at the entrance which is a large and locked up gate. Daryl walks up to the gate and bangs on it. About a minute later a man with short black hair, a shorter gray and black beard and bright blue eyes opens the gate. Daryl and the man both just stand there for a minute before hugging eachother. About 2 minutes later they let go of eachother. All of a sudden the other man pulls a gun on you. "Who are you?" Daryl jumps in front of you. "Rick, the girl's with me." Rick gives you a cold steer before letting you inside of the gates. The first thing you see are about 40 massive houses that could fit at least 5 people in each. "Hey, if you want you can go to my house to get cleaned up." Rick says to Daryl. "Ok. I'll meet ya at the gates in 20." Rick nods while walking somewhere else with you. "What's your name?" He asks after a minute. "Addison." "Rick, Rick Grimes. Welcome to Alexandria." You give him a slight smile. "So, how long have you been here for?" "Maybe about 11 months, a year." "Did this place start out like how it is now?" He looks the ground. "No. No it didn't. There was another leader, but she passed. Same goes for about 10 families who used to live here." You just nod. "So where did you come from?" You look towards the ground, avoiding eye contact. "Well, I live in the Sanctuary. I'm, Negans daughter." You manage to say. You stop walking. "You're, his, daughter?" You could tell Rick was getting confused. "Um, ya." He starts walking again. "Look, I can tell you don't like me so if you want me to go just say." You say stopping again. "You're not leaving just yet. I want you to meet someone."

The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost.
