《How I Survived (Zombie Story)》Chapter Thirty Seven

I woke up with Miranda staring into my face.
"Your hair."
"I know.," I grumble. We hear a gunshot and I scramble to my feet. "Oh, false alarm," Miranda tells me, I look to the fence just to see one of the guards had shot one out of the one hundred zombies around the fence.
"They're killing them today... I think." Jone tells us, more gunshots fire off, zombies collapsed near and far from the fence as guards at their posts shot them down.
•••••••••••••
We were all at the breakfast table again, eating the oatmeal they served. Miranda had been bugging me the whole time asking me what I did to my hair. I simply told her I found a knife and cut it myself.
"Well, you did a dang good job." She says, her eyes sculpting out my new hair I had given myself.
Hunter had been asking me how I felt, and I simply shrugged. I had a stir of feelings. Mostly confused, wondering why Luis helped me, wondering if my mother had died, wondering if we would ever escape this place.
I felt anger with myself. Here I sat, among my friends, who all had dirt smudges on their clothes and face. Here I sat, looking like a squeaky clean doll. Stupid Luis. I spotted him across the cafeteria, eyeing me. I rolled my eyes and slumped forward so Jone's body was blocking me from Luis.
"Hey, you okay?" Miranda asks, nudging me like she always does. "I guess." Is all I can mutter.
We went back to the camp and Jone gathered us up. "Today is the day we get the key." Jone tells us, "Once we get it, we take the rest of our group that is around us."
"What about everyone else...? Some of our group isn't even with Kyle and Beverley." Miranda points out.
I nod, but I pause. "We.. we aren't leaving them.. are we?" Jone goes silent and I realized I had asked a stupid question and knew he wasn't gonna respond with a stupid answer.
Jone just stares at me. "We'll come back for them."

There's the stupid answer.
Hunter hadn't said anything, neither had Miranda. Emily was chilling since she couldn't hear anyway. nobody said anything. "Plan set," Jone confirmed.
•••••••••••
We were back at the same picnic table, the gunshots were still firing and it seemed like they were going to take years to kill that many off because more and more wondered from the woods around the fence and joined the walkers as if to see what all the commotion was about.
The carts were being hauled to the building again. This time it Kyle and Sammy. Sammy had sat on the ground. We ran across the field, once we reached them we exchanged hugs like always.
"The key?"
"Beverley got switched shifts trying to get this," Kyle says, waving a key in Jone's face. Jone took the key and shoved it into his pocket. "We're getting out of here, right now," Jone tells me. Surprised about how reckless he was about decisions, I stared at him.
The sky was graying over, clouds sailing across the sky. Thunder crackles above us, and I lifted my chin towards the sky. The sun had disappeared behind clouds.
"We can't just leave everyone... who are you, Jone?" Kyle asks, he looked more depressed than ever.
Jone hadn't said anything. "Answer me!!" Kyle shouted, grabbing a fistful of Jone's shirt. Jone wrestled him off, and Hunter pulled them away from each other.
Something wet landed on my head and I look up at the sky again. The sky was a lowish color now. Lightning struck, and then a loud alarm sounded.
We all stared around, confused.
"The fog!!" Jone shouts. Hunter grabs my arm and Emily's and Kyle grabs Miranda and we are all running towards the dead bodybuilding. We darted in, shutting the double doors as quick as we could.
Everyone had evacuated the building except us. We all went to a corner and sunk to our feet, hearing the wind again like that same time when the strange yellow fog had come.
Then, the unthinkable happened. Gunshots. They were hard to hear at first, but they got closer and closer. Soon the double doors creaked open and the air from outside filled the room. I could barely breathe the toxic air. When whoever had come in shut the door, I gasped for air.

We all hid behind a long counter where they placed the belongings of dead people on. We footsteps were hesitant at first. Then noticed Kyle was not hiding with us, he was hiding behind a thick pipe that liked the wall.
He was trying his best to stay still, his eyes wide. The person silently wandered in front of where Kyle was hiding. They wore a clown mask and they whistled a tune, swinging their gun in their hands.
Suddenly we were all confused and shocked as a walker stumbled in from the other exit door and it was wondering towards Kyle. How'd they get in?!
The person had no idea a walker was making its way to them.
The walker had already grabbed the person. The person was close to killing walker but he didn't get a chance to,
Kyle moved quickly and grabbed the person and the person's gun went off and luckily Kyle was able to fight the arm that held the gun and bullets flew everywhere and Kyle slammed him into the counter and the walker took a big chunk out of the person's arm. They screamed and cursed. Kyle killed the zombie, shoving a knife into its head and it slumped to the ground.
We were all standing and surrounding Kyle as the backup.
The boy cried out and crumpled to the ground from Kyle's force, he was trying to raise his gun at Emily, who was staring blankly at the boy, but Kyle took the gun and pinned the boy to the ground. Kyle yanked the mask off the boy's face.
The boy had the most innocent face I had ever seen. He had huge brown eyes and brown hair, and a bruise on his left cheek, he closed his eyes tight. "Please..." he whispers.
"I'm dying.." the boy says touching his side. There was a reddened spot on his shirt now, and he clenched his teeth. "Put me out of my misery.." the boy whispered, looking at us, with teary eyes.
"Who are you, people?" Jone asks, calm. The boy looks at Jone and pure hatred washes over him, "H-Heck if I'd tell you people... you're gonna kill me anyways.." he cried out, and clutched his shirt.
Determined tears were rolling from his eyes now, and he was sobbing, "Please."
The boy looks at us with pleading eyes. "Help him." A voice interrupts. The voice was small but demanding.
We all turned to the voice. It was Emily, "I can't hear... but I can see... and it's... painful just to watch this kid in pain.." she says, her voice rising and lowering.
She had her eyes covered with her hands. Miranda grabbed a shirt off the counter and placed it against the boy's wound. He groaned and tears left his clenched eyes.
"Just... just kill me!" He shouts, and cries, cursing.
"You feel death over your shoulder." Emily suddenly says, her shoulder trembling. Her eyes were wide as if she was struggling to try to hear. "I can see it... I can't hear it.. but I can see it. I've seen death.. caused by you and your friends.. caused by evil people... that's what it feels like.. that's what death is like." Emily tells the boy, and she places a knife against his wound. The metal must've been cold because he nearly jumped.
Emily poked him with the tip of the knife but stopped as she saw he was panicking.
"No!!!" The boy wails, thrashing his arms, "Please!" Emily couldn't hear him, she could see him screaming but she was avoiding the soundless screams.
I had frozen in my spot, so had everyone else, my eye widening.
"Emily!!" Hunter shouts, even though she's deaf. Hunter grabs her shoulder and does sign language.
"I'm cutting his bullet out." She simply responds and turns back to the wound.
"Emily!"
Before Hunter can stop her, she shoves the knife into the bullet wound.

Galactic Fist of Legend
In the year 2018 a bright star appeared near Earth. Humanity as a whole was briefly introduced to a race of beings far beyond their understanding. During that brief interaction a proclamation was made, Defeat the Grand Emissary or become the eternal slaves of those who had arrived at Earth. The only chance for victory was for people all across the globe to make a choice. When prompted to become a champion and a play a bizarre game of life or death they could choose yes or no. Those who chose no, went about their lives afterward. All memory of the event was lost despite the fact that their very existence as a free species hung by a single thread. Will those who said yes manage to survive the horror of the game and become strong enough to defeat the Grand Emissary. Can one of them become... The Galactic Fist of Legend. Also, it's a comedy. Pretty obvious, right? Notes: This story will contain graphic violence, stupid humor, nudity, sexiness, and maybe I'll give the main character a pet cat or something. I don't know yet. Still, you need to be pretty mature to properly take care of a pet. Notes2: This story is my answer to stories such as Gantz, Terror Infinity, Battle Royale, Btoom!, and strangely enough... Captain N: The Video Game Master. It is an original story, but it does seek to give a similar vibe to some of those tales of legend. However, it is not meant to be an overly serious tale as I have decided that the new stories that I release in the coming year will be mostly comedies.
