My eyes silently open, I look up to see a dark sky, with clouds spread across. Stars neatly lit the sky.

I felt pain answer my question which was what happened?

I sat up and notice I was lying on a leather seat. A bus seat that is. I cried out and fell back against it. "Ow..." I grumbled lightly.

Oh, now I remember.. The bus flipped. From something. 

I bite my lip and try to sit up. More pain. Tears blur my eyes and I stifle a sob. Why was I crying?

Suddenly someone touches my hand. I hear a soft cough and smell something burning.

"L-Lara. Please don't be dea-" I cut the male voice off.

"I'm here.." I grumble and cough also.

It was Kyle leaning over me, his green eyes staring into mine. "I can't feel my legs." I blurt when I notice the strange feeling in my legs.

"What?" He asks.

"My legs. Is there something about it?!" I ask, panicking.

"I'll get it out. I mean off.." He says.

"Kyle what is it?!" I yell.

"Hold on Lara.." He mumbles.

I sob. "Stop crying..." He whispers.

"I'm gonna get it out." He promises. "Kyle. What is it?" I ask.

"It's. Lara... Oh, my God. It's a piece of metal." He says. "It's penetrating your legs..." He said, his voice cracking.

I groan and cover my mouth, feeling bile rise in my throat. Did this mean, Oh no.?

I hear Kyle sniffle sob. "Kyle calm down. You can help me right?" I ask concentrating on the sky.

"Yea..." He whispers lightly.

"Is it-" He cuts me off. I was gonna ask him if it was piercing any bone or nerves.

"I don't know if it's piercing any nerves.." Kyle says. At least Kyle was taking doctoring classes, well was. I was too.

I hear a low growl.

"We need to get somewhere safe.." He mumbles.

"Where're the others..?" I ask.

"I don't know.. I woke up beside you..." He says.

"Where is the smoke coming from..?" I ask.

"Somewhere north... I'm gonna carry you. Okay?" Kyle asks.

"Okay... Agh!" I cry out.

"Shh. Shh.." He says. He pulls me up slowly and I bit my lip. I know you're wondering. Why aren't me a Kyle dating? I don't know. He's more like an older brother to me.

I lay my head on his shirt and stare forward.

We were in the woods somewhere. Now I could see the empty highway. And then I saw the big smoke and fire. I heard voices. "Kyle.." I mumble.

"That's them.." He says. I feel him start to jog slowly, holding me close. I felt a wave of nausea again. My eyes fluttered closed and opened.

"Stay with me." He mumbles and he kept running.

"Oh my God! It's Kyle!" I hear the voice of Miranda.

"He's carrying something."

A someone actually.

I groan and pass out.
