《A New Beginning - Warren Worthington III (REWRITING)》Chap. 16 - Caught

The sun was already coming out when you opened your eyes, yawning. Your alarm clock informed you it was eight in the morning and so you rolled over in your bed, groaning. There were no classes today and there was no way you would get up this early. As you moved in your bed, you felt something fall on you. You opened your eyes abruptly and came face to face with Warren, soundly asleep. Lying on his stomach, his wings were spread on his sides above your quilt, making one fall on you. A smile found your lips at the realization he had spent the night with you, probably falling asleep before Ororo returned. You studied his face for a few seconds and smiled again. His hair was a mess of blond curls and his face was showing nothing else but peace and serenity. He looked like an angel. Deeper inside of you, a voice was telling you you could get use to that; waking up beside him. You were debating about either going back to sleep or waking him up to spend some time together when you heard someone clear its throat behind you. You turned abruptly toward the sound and saw Mystique watching you from the doorstep, her arms crossed on her chest. As you sat in your bed, you could feel your cheeks burning under her unyielding gaze. You knew what it looked like. Putting your hand on Warren's shoulder, you tried to wake him up but the only reaction you got from him was a groan. Seized by panic, you called his name loudly making him opened his eyes. At the sight of your nervous expression, Warren raised his right hand to your cheek, frowning:
"What's going on?"
You gestured toward Mystique and Warren looked at the direction you indicated him. He swore loudly when he saw her, making Mystique look even more pissed off than she already was. And when Warren's hand fell on your thighs, she seemed to be about to explode.
"Hank's classroom, at 5. Don't be late." She finally said harshly.
On those words, she left the room, leaving you petrified.
"Hope it was worth it." You heard Ororo say from her bed next to yours. She had her eyes closed but a huge smile was spread on her lips.
It helped you somewhat relax and you lie back into your bed, locking eyes with Warren in the process. He did not seem to care as his face was as peaceful as before. He was studying your face as you moved toward him.

"You were right. They found out."
A smile hovered at the corners of his mouth at your words.
"I'm always right." He retorted, making you chuckle. "Really? You're laughing at me? After I took it on myself to spend the night with you."
"Took it on yourself? That's a little exaggeration don't you think?" You answered playfully.
It made him crack a smile. "It sure is."
He moved closer, kissing your cheek softly before moving on top of you. His chest heaving against yours, you could feel the weight of his wings against your body. Knowing he would not stay in this position for long, you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him to you. His lips stretched into a smile as he was about to kiss you but he was interrupted by Ororo:
"Guys, please, I'm still here."
"You should look away then." Warren warned her, still smiling.
His lips found yours just after. It was tender at first but quickly turned into something hungrier and needier, making Ororo grunt beside you. He quickly moved to pepper kisses down your jaw and neck and started to nibble at your skin; you bit your bottom lip, enjoying this way too much. Subconsciously, your hand went wandering in his hair, tugging at his curls. Taken by surprise, Warren bit you harder, making you gasp. Your breath got stuck in your throat at the realization of what had crossed your mouth, making you blush a deep red. Over your embarrassment, you heard Ororo shouted:
"Guys, come on!!"
A pillow went flying across the room as Warren faced you again, so much longing in his eyes it took your breath away.
"I should leave." He whispered to you reluctantly, pressing one last hungry kiss to your lips before getting up. As he was leaving the room, Ororo shouted at him:
"And take a cold shower on the way to your room."
At Ororo's word, your mind wandered. Who knew how far it would have gone if Ororo had not been there. The worst in that was that you did not know if you were relieved or disappointed of it not going further.

As you were leaving Professor McCoy's office, you glanced at your watch: it was only six pm. Dinner was not before two hours and with no homework to do, you could do everything you wanted. Warren following closely behind you, hugged you from behind when you stopped walking. Pressing a soft kiss on your bare shoulder, he listened to what you were offering to do. At the mention of the roof, he agreed.

You walked in silence as you tried to remember what you had learned during this one-hour group lesson. Professor McCoy had been a little too scientific in his explanations; making a lot of other teenagers laugh at his poor metaphors, but you had found it reassuring. You had been really attentive to his course, trying to gather as much information as you could, on the contrary to Warren. He had spent most of the hour fiddling with your hair giving you a hard time to concentrate, as he was clearly not listening to a word coming out of the professor's mouth.
Reaching the roof, you inhaled the fresh air of the evening. It had been quite a while since you and Warren had walked up there.
Warren went to sit on your usual spot, underneath the alcove, and you crawled into his lap. His arms around your waist, he was smiling playfully.
"You've been awfully attentive during McCoy's exposé. Do I need to worry about him?"
"Are you jealous?" You inquired, trying to continue on McCoy instead of the other reason that would make you so interested in the course.
"Do I need to be?" He replied, an eyebrow raised as a smirk appeared on his lips.
"Not at all."
"Good. I don't think I have a lot to worry about anyway." He said, his smirk not leaving his lips.
You chuckled at his cockiness. "What makes you say that?"
"He'll never be able to make you moan like I do."
His smirk got larger as red started to take over your cheeks, remembering what had happened the morning before.
"I-I didn't-" You tried to say, but Warren cut you off:
"You know, you're cute when you're flustered!"
Your mouth was still slightly opened as his words sink in. Frowning, you asked him: "Did you say that on purpose?"
His playful smile answered for him. You could not believe you had not seen it coming. Tightening his hold on your waist, he pulled you closer to kiss you but as your lips were about to touch, you covered his mouth with your hands.
"You'll have the right to kiss me when you'll be nicer."
Even your hands could not hide the amused grin that spread on his face. You removed your hands from his mouth and smiled, red still coloring your cheeks faintly.
"If I can't kiss your mouth, I'll find something else." He whispered, a mischievous expression on his face as he went peppering kisses down your neck.
His fingers quickly found their way under your tee-shirt and you shivered at his touch, a faint moan crossing your lips for the second times this day.
"You're driving me crazy, angel." Warren whispered, his lips grazing at your skin before locking eyes with you.
His eyes were mesmerizing, more black than blue, as he met your lips in a passionate kiss. Warren's hands continued their way up your back making your heart hammer in your chest. Did you really want that? Your hands on his chest, you could feel his heart beating as fast as yours. You did not know. Breaking the kiss, you went burying your face in the crook of his neck, breathless. Warren went trailing kisses downwards, to your neck and collarbone, moving forward in the process. You heard his wings squeak against the ground followed by a loud groan. His face buried in your neck, he had clutched you desperately. You called his name but the only answer you got was his erratic breathing. Something was wrong. You waited for him to calm down, fondling his hair tenderly, and when he moved to face you, his face twitched in pain.
"Warren, what's going on?"
"I don't want to worry you." He whispered, trying to give you a reassuring smile but failing.
"It's too late for that so tell me." You whispered back, your hand cupping his cheek.
"I think something's wrong with my wings. It feels like they're tearing me apart from the inside."
You nodded, not knowing what to do. As hard as he was trying to hide it from you, you could see the pain and fear in his eyes. In a desperate attempt to comfort him, you said:
"It's okay. We're going to tell the Professor about it and he'll find something, you'll see."
You smiled faintly but there was no fooling him. Concern was stamped all over your face.
What if his body was rejecting his wings like it would reject an organ?
After all, it was not his original mutation, who knew what could happened?
