《Late Night Conversations ✔ [COMPLETED]》Chapter Fourteen - Meet & Greet Part I

Anna
My sister is going to drive me insane before we even make it to the venue for the concert. "Joanne, will you please try and calm down." I say for what feels like the hundredth time since we left our house almost an hour ago.
"Anna, are you kidding me? We're in a limousine driving to a Jet Valentine concert. How in the world are you not freaking out? Are you even human? Even mom and dad are excited." She points into the direction of our parents who are sitting on the other side of the spacious car, sipping on champagne.
The truth is, I am beyond freaked out. Tyler sent a text message this morning, informing me about a car picking us up. That way we wouldn't have to deal with anything at all where this evening is concerned, except focusing on having a good time. He's been so sweet, and I'm more confused than ever. Can I have such strong feelings for a person that I haven't even met yet? But then again, there's a reason why there's so much online dating nowadays, right? I still haven't been able to talk to anyone about all of this, and I feel like I might explode soon from keeping it to myself.
"We're here." Joanne squeals so loudly that I'm afraid I've sustained some permanent hearing damage.
The car has stopped in front of the side entrance, just like Tyler mentioned. Before anyone can make it to the door, it is being opened from the outside. A big figure leans down and halfway into the car.
The man is wearing sunglasses so I can't see his eyes, but it looks like he's staring at me. "Family Aberdeen?"
I gulp before nodding slowly. Thankfully my dad speaks up. "That's us."
"Great. Come on out." He waits by the car door, with four more security guards a few feet behind him. They stand in front of the closed door to the venue, all wearing matching suits and sunglasses. "Right over here, please. We'll have to check your belongings really quick. I'm sorry about that, but it's standard procedure for everyone who enters through us."

My mom steps forward, holding out her purse. "No problem at all, we totally understand."
After a quick check, we go inside with two of the guards flanking us. The one next to me speaks up. "We have to hurry. Mr. Valentine only has a few minutes before he needs to get ready for his show, but he wanted to see you."
We're deep into the labyrinth of backstage hallways, when the words finally register. I look over to my parents, who are trying to calm down Joanne. She looks like she might have a breakdown at any moment. I can't really blame her though, even I have to admit that my nervousness barometer just shot up to dangerous levels.
Before I know it, the guards stop in front of an open door, gesturing for us to go inside. "There's refreshments in there for you. Mr. Valentine will be here shortly." One of the guards mumbles before saying something into his headset.
"Did you know about this, Anna?" My mom asks, eyeing me curiously.
"No." Is all I get out. I'm still a bit dumbfounded myself. My parents don't know the whole story about Tyler and me. I told them that we met at the coast when I was out taking pictures, and that we started talking. Now I just need to be convincing when I actually meet him.
I don't have time to ponder on it any more because in that moment the door flings open. Jet Valentine walks into the room with an older woman right on his heels, closing the door behind them.
Several things happen at once. The older woman introduces herself as Marlene, Jet's personal assistant. She has been in charge of our travel arrangement, wanting to make sure that everything worked flawlessly. My parents get into a conversation with her right away.
I on the other hand just stand there, frozen in spot and staring at this boy in front of me. His eyes bore into mine too until my little sister throws herself at him, almost making both of them fall over.
That brings everyone's attention back to the superstar and lots of hands are trying to be helpful by prying my sister off the poor guy. I am surprised to see him smiling though. He waves everyone off and pats my sister's back softly, whispering something in her ear. Joanne suddenly nods and pulls away from him, grinning through her tears.

She keeps standing next to him, while my parents walk up to Jet to introduce themselves and to thank him for everything.
"No need to thank me. I heard Joanna here is my biggest fan, so that was the least I could do." Jet's voice and laughter flows through my body, his whole presence filling my senses. It all seems so familiar, but then I guess it should be due to my sister watching every snippet she can possibly find of him online.
I can feel Jet's gaze on me again, as he slowly walks over to where I still stand like a cardboard cutout. He stops a few feet in front of me, just looking at me. When I realize how stupid I must look, I feel my cheeks heat up.
Jet's lips pull up into a breathtaking smile, as he holds out his hand. "Hi Anna, it's so nice to finally meet you."
"You too. Thanks so much for having us today." Wow. Super reply, Anna.
He shakes his head and opens his mouth to say something, when his assistant comes up behind him. "I'm so sorry Jet, but we have to go. You're already behind and people need you backstage."
He looks disappointed. "Always getting interrupted when I'm trying to talk to Anna." He mumbles so quietly that I'm not sure if I hear him correctly.
"Well I'll see you guys later then. Enjoy the show." Jet winks at me and heads out with Marlene.
Joanne instantly goes into overdrive mode, going back and forth between crying, squealing, muttering nonsense and hugging one of us. I still don't know how I'm feeling at the moment. I think I'm mainly confused. All these years of Joanne's obsession over Jet Valentine, I've never once cared about him. I've always thought he has a great voice and doesn't lack in the looks department either, but that has been pretty much it. Now I'm utterly mesmerized and I can't logically explain it.
"Oh Anna look, there's Jellybeans." My mom points toward the table behind me.
"What?" I whirl around and to my utter astonishment I can see a huge bowl full of jellybeans. I absentmindedly grab a few, when there's a knock on the door and Marlene opens it.
"Are you guys ready? I'm here to bring you to your seats."
We all nod, and follow Marlene through more tunnels and doors, until we slip through a side door into the arena. The noise level is deafening in here already, and Marlene shouts at us over the chatter of thousands of excited fans. "Your seats are all the way in the front in a separate area." She leads us to some chairs that are literally just a few feet away from the stage.
I can feel Joanne's excitement radiating next to me, as she holds onto my arm in a deathgrip. Marlene leaves us alone once we reach our seats and we sit down. It doesn't take more than a few minutes before the main lights suddenly turn off, and the stage lights are the only thing illuminating the whole place.
Jet steps onto stage and the chattering from a few minutes ago turns into ear shattering screams so loud, that I'm pretty sure I will have issues hearing for a few days.
"Hey guys, I'm so happy to be able to be here tonight with all of you guys. This is a very special evening for me, so let's celebrate together. We'll start out with You and Me. This one is for you, sunshine." The crowd is going completely wild at Jet's dedication, while he is directly looking at me.
What did he just say?
That makes no sense.
What the heck?
My brain is working overtime right now, trying to put the puzzle pieces together.
I lean over to Joanne and pull her close to me. "Does Jet have a middle name?"
She looks at me confused for a second but then nods.
"Well, what it is?" I'm slightly shaking her now.
"It's Tyler. Why?"

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5
