You had never been one to enjoy drinking but when everything in life had become too much, you turned your attention to alcohol and allowed yourself to get lost in a bottle. Out of everyone, you knew it wasn't a way to cope but it helped for now and that's all you really needed. Your best friend Schneider had been an alcoholic and a drug addict, you had quickly learnt the dangers of being dependent on them but he had learnt how to overcome the addiction and you desperately hoped you wouldn't hurt him with your stupidity.
In a rather intoxicated state, Schneider was the only person you wanted to see. He was the only person able to make you smile no matter what even if he was the one that led to you turning to the bottle.
The two of you had been best friends for years, since you were in school, but you had always liked him far more than you should have liked your best friend. You didn't really know what you liked about him, he was a troubled man, addiction running through his veins, but he was your person and you wished that there was more. He was known for having sex with anyone with breasts but never looked at you in that way.
Schneider opened the door, half asleep, without his glasses on, rather confused by who would be at his apartment at this hour.
"Y/N?" He yawned. "What are you doing here?"
You weren't sure how coherent your words were, but you tried to tell him you wanted to talk, and he ushered you into the apartment, concerned for his neighbours and your lack of knowledge of how loud you were slurring.
"You're drunk," he frowned. "You never drink. What happened?"

"I'm sick of this," you exclaimed. "Why won't you notice me?"
He cocked an eyebrow at you. "You're my best friend, I always notice you. Especially when you turn up at my apartment in the middle of the night, drunk as anything."
You stamped your foot, your words having not explained things clearly enough. That wasn't what you meant. You knew he saw you as his best friend, but you wanted him to see you as more, see you as someone whom he could love.
"You are willing to sleep with everyone but me. I've been in love with you for years and you just see me as your friend, I don't want to just be your friend," you said, tears beginning to stream down your face.
He offered you a gentle smile, seeing the state you were in.
"How about you stay here for the night and we continue this conversation tomorrow?" He offered calmly.
You nodded your head, still crying. Schneider wrapped an arm around you, leading you off towards his bedroom where he could leave you to sleep. The last thing you remembered after being tucked into bed was him kissing your forehead and promising that he did love you.

Changing My Life with A Level System
As years went by and Earth evolved into a foreseen futuristic, sci-fi world, everything went through changes; the buildings, vehicles, weapons even the vegetation and animals didn't remain unscathed. Yet one thing stayed the same throughout all history, something indispensable for the human race, something no one could ever think of leaving out in their daily lives and yet being the very cause of human demise, work.During the whole change process not even once was the human work ethic thought of as a problem causing a rise in the demand for entertainment and distraction from the daily routines. Those a new game system called Virtual Reality was created, giving everyone the possibility to fully immerse in other worlds and escaping the trials of life. Bao, threw himself in such a world but without thinking of the consequences of such a deed, for nobody asked themselves, what if life in this virtual world is better than reality and even worse what if the boundaries between the two become indistinct? © 2021 All rights reserved to the author under the pen name Q_Yuumo.

8 146The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment. You can also vote for it on Top Web Fiction and rate it on Web Fiction Guide. Member of The Order of Phantasmal Architects.
