OK so while we are waiting for the Octavinelle chapters to be released, I thought it would be best to include in an extra story in commemoration of the special event going on in the app as of now: Happy Beans Day: Reclaim the Golden Harp.

Note: this story event takes place later on in the school year (February) so I can only deduce that this takes place after events of Octavinelle, Scarabia and possibly Pomefiore?? So I guess you can consider it as a part of the main story or as bonus content. Either way, I hope you enjoy!

Part I: Farmers vs Monsters

Three people stood outside the gate to the Colosseum. Tensions were high, but being the last few survivors of the game, it was all or nothing.

"You're the only one who can stop them!" Cater claims.

"Charlotte, it's all on you." Jade nods.

The girl in question stands her ground firmly, eyes full of fire. Although deep inside her heart was going 50 mph, and felt like fainting any minute. But she had to do this. No matter what.

"Time to end this!" She declares.

~One day ago~

In a classroom around campus, the students have gathered chatting amongst themselves of why they were called in so suddenly.

"Take your seats, puppies." Professor Crewel announces. "We will now determine groups for this school's traditional event, 'Happy Beans Day' tomorrow. The groups will be made by drawing numbers. Come to me in order of your attendance number." The students comply while doing so. Charlotte and her friends line up by each other.

"Happy Beans Day? What's that?" Grim asks.

"I can only assume it's A day where beans become happy for This school's traditional event?" Charlotte guessed.

"Charlie, you don't know Happy Beans Day?" Ace asked as the former shook her head.

"Such an unknowledgeable puppy. No choice, I will tell you." He offers. "It is my job to raise you puppies, after all."

" 'Happy Beans Day' is Night Raven College's traditional event that is done in February. A Long time ago, there existed a place called the Valley of Happiness in this country.There's a reason why it was named "Happiness". Rich nature, fertile grounds....And, there was a magical harp that had a beautiful singing voice."

Charlie saw an image of a beautiful woman with hair as golden as the sun with the body of a harp. And a light voice to match.

"It was said that the voice of that harp had given humans, animals and even plants happiness when she sang."

But then the images changed from happiness to drastic. A giant looming shadow had smashed the windows of the castle the harp lived in. And grasped the harp in their hand.

"But, an envious giant monster got into that valley, and stole that magical harp."

The Lands has soon deteriorated until everything was not so picture perfect.

"Time passed, and the people were suffering because of hunger. Amidst all, one farmer got a magical bean by coincidence. And that bean is, the magical 'Happy Bean'.

In the palm of one hand, Charlie saw three green beans radiating a golden glow. But another hand had seized the beans and threw them out the window. In the dead of night by the light of the full moon, the beans started to sprout. Bigger and taller, teaching higher into the moonlit sky.

"The vine of the Happy Bean tree reached the home of the giant in the sky overnight."

Then showed three shadows standing on top of fluffy white clouds, with the sky clear and blue, and a giant castle right in front of them.

"The farmers climbed those vines, and took the harp back."

It showed them running into the castle, and then running back out with the harp in hand. With that appeared the giant shadow, chasing them angrily towards the beanstalk.

"And when they got back to the ground, they cut the bean tree and killed the giant who was chasing them after."

Sliding down the beanstalk, The three farmers got the harp to safety and sawed down The tall green shoot, letting the stalk fall over like a giant Oakwood, and the giant tumbled to his death.

"And then the rich nature went back with the magical harp's voice in the valley —is how the story goes."

The visions had vanished and Charlotte was back in the classroom.

"Take back what was taken. If they got you, return them twice as much, like the anecdote." He finishes.

"I see, that's something to learn." Grim nods.

"Then, there was an event where people who played as farmers would throw beans and exorcise the others who played as monsters." Deuce adds on.

"Good boy. That's right."

"So there's an event like this even in this world. Much like that Disney cartoon...." Charlie murmurs quietly.

"But, The 'Happy Beans Day' for Night Raven College is much different." Crewel counters. "In this school, it's an event where students not based on dorms nor grades will be divided into 2 teams and fight over who will claim the harp....IT'S A HETEROGENEOUS SPORTS COMPETITION!!!"

"Eh? Why?" Ace asked startled.

"We were supposed to throw beans at the monsters to chase away bad omens, but, The students who play the monster role would endure them and do a counterattack. And then both sides would brawl."

"This is so Night Raven College students in a fucking nutshell..." Charlie rolls her eyes.

Crewel continues, "If they would brawl, then why not make it a competition to train your physical strength? And so that's how 'Happy Beans Day' on Night Raven College was born." He clasps his hands. "And That's the end of Crewel-sama's special lesson! Next, Trappola. Spade. Luchessi. Draw your team." The trio drew.

"Yes....Ah, I'm on the monsters team." Ace shrugged.

"Hmm, I'm on the farmers team." Deuce claims.

"Oh, we're on the farmers team too." Grim follows.

"Huh, then we're enemies starting from tomorrow." Ace gives a mock smile.

"I can't afford to lose if it's a battle." Deuce returns.

"We surely won't lose!" Grim jeers.

"For more information on the battle's rules, Vargas will explain it to you guys on tomorrow's physical training duty. Well then. Everyone is excused!" And with that, class was dismissed.

~Event Day~

Out on the field, The entire student body has gathered to prepare for the event. They all donned their PE gear and we're ready for anything.

"Gather up, bean sprouts! Today is the long awaited 'Happy Beans Day!' Event!" Coach Vargas shouts as the students gather. "You have eaten your breakfast and drunk raw eggs, I bet? Your muscles won't grow if you don't take enough nutrition! Now, I'll explain the rules for the new first year students. Don't awe at my muscles and forget to listen to the rules, okay?

"This is a competition where you fight for the ownership of the Golden Harp!

The monsters team will be defeated if the harp gets stolen. And the farmers team will lose if they don't get the harp within the limited time. It's simple right?

"The farmers will be eliminated if they're caught by the monsters. And the monsters will be eliminated if they get thrown beans by the farmers. And, the most important rule! In the battle, using magic is strictly prohibited! If you're caught using magic, you'll be eliminated. Fight with your own flesh!"

"Eeh, so we can't use magic?" Ace whined.

"They said it was okay to use it back then." Riddle approaches him.

"But then there were some serious injuries after the battle, and they prohibited it since then." Trey finished.

"Then this battle is purely based on strength, isn't it? Nice. I'm good at that!" Deuce cracks his knuckles.

"That's the spirit, Deuce-chan!" Cater joins the group. "I don't think it's based on strength only, though."

"The team that wins will get points for their physical strength grades. Moreover, the student who contributes the upmost best will get another set of bonus points. You better fight until your muscles raise a scream! The battle field is the whole school. There will be supply points around for both teams.

Better use what you got from the boxes wisely! You'll be given a map of where you can see the supply points: 10 pieces of beans for the farmers team, and a pair of boots that makes you run faster for the monsters team. Go to the starting point based on each of your directed positions. The match will begin at 9 am! I'll pray for the best results, students!"

Outside the Ramshackle Dorm, Grim and Charlie make their way to the starting point.

"Our starting point is A-6... it's near the Ramshackle Dorm's woods." Charlie points out in their map.

"The other guys seem to be directed to start in many places, huh?" Grim piqued. Suddenly, The two were met with a familiar face.

"Oh, Grim and Charlie! You both start on A-6?"

"Yeah. You too, Cater?"

"You're right-o. Pleasure to work with you~!" He winks in her direction. "Some advice as an upperclassmen who has done this for 3 years: The Farmers team will be in an advantage if they work in groups. It's a miracle to have the same starting point, so let's go together!" He offers. With a smile.

"That face, I feel like you're planning something." Charlie nods unsurely.

"Point A-6.... is, around here?" The three then to find-

"Oh, Deuce-chan. You're in this starting point too?" Cater asks.

"Yes. You guys too?" The brunette joins them.

"Yup. I was just starting a plan to stay together with Charlie! What about you go too, Deuce-chan?"

Deuce nods. "I got it. Please take care of me."

"So, let's take a pic as a memorial! Yay~!" The photo was taken as fast as lightning. "Hm... #NRC #HappyBeansDay #FarmersTeam #WeWon'tLoseToMonstersTeam! Yup, done uploading!"

"You sure don't change, Diamond?" Deuce shakes his head.

The sound of a Gong enchied signaling the start of the game.

"Oh, it's the sign for the match to begin. We don't know where the monsters team would come out, so be careful.

Don't forget to prepare the beans." Cater informs the first years.

"We only have 10 beans to exterminate the monsters.... we have to think before using it." Deuce remembers.

"I want more beans. It can be an emergency meal too." Grim grins.

"Then, should we head to the supply point first?" Cater asks. "There will be not only beans, but also Bean Shooters that can shoot beans at high speed and other useful things inside the supply boxes.The ones who get the supply boxes first will always win〜 It's always a struggle every year."

"The Farmers team supply point.... the closest one is inside the forest near the botanical garden." Deuce checks the map. "Let's go." And the group takes off.

The quartet make it to the Woods Behind Campus.

"There should be a supply point around here... hmm, what's that box under the apple tree?" Deuce runs and spots one in the distance.

"I think it's better for the first years who still are not used to the game to get the supply box first.So, Deuce-chan. You can open the box and get the items first!" Cater winks.

"Huh, are you sure? Thank you very much! Then, without further ado..." deuce smiles and walks toward the box.

Cater sneaks beside Charlie and whispers, "Charlie, Grim, come here behind the tree."

"What is it? Whispering like that?"

"Shh. Quiet down." Hiding behind nearby tree, the three watch Deuce carefully.

Wrestling was heard in the bushes and out pops Ace and Sebek.

"There you are, simpleton farmer Deuce!" The first year in question turns to find the redhead and the green-haired first years behind him.

"What!? The Monster team!? It's an ambush!"

"If we wait near the farmer team's supply point, we'll catch the prey easily. It's simple if you think a little." Ace teased.

"Damn it, I let my guard loose!" Without a second thought, Deuce sprints off.

"He's getting away, stop him!" Sebek calls.

"I've got him!" Ace confirms and the two race after.

"Good, they went away! So, let's get the supply box while they're gone!" Cater jogs over.

"Don't tell me that you had intended that since the beginning! Of course there was something behind that smile." Charlie sighs.

"So that's why you said something so nice to Deuce. You're terrible!" Grim scowled.

"Come on, you two. This is part of the plan! If the farmers team wins, Deuce-chan's physical ability grades will go up too. We have to work together! Also, he's on the the track team and he runs fast, he'll get away from them!"

"There some from the farmers team!"

"Get them!"

"Shitzki!" Charlie sees two of the monster team's players running towards them!

"This is bad, it's the monsters team! They were still there!? Charlie! Grim! Prepare your beans!" Cater lunges forward, box in hand. Charlie and Grim follow, ready to fire when necessary.

"That was dangerous. We somehow got away from them." Cater pants heavily.

"The beans that I threw didn't even scratch the monster team! Let's pick the beans I've thrown again." Grim whined.

"So the content of the supplies are: A small-sized bean thrower , Bean Shooter S and a bean bag. And also 2 pairs of magic camouflage jackets. And Last is a magic drug. The drug can make your body shrink for 30 seconds." Cater examines the things in the box. "We got some good things! Let's wear the camouflage jackets. You wear it too, Charlie!"

The two slipped on their jackets. Looking like military soldiers, the two donned goggles and black pants with orange combat boots. And Charlie's hair was in her usual ponytail with her white bandana.

"Hm! Not bad!" She smiled.

"Tada! How is it? Does it suit me?" He posed.

"Eeh! Won't we be found out faster with those bright colors?" Grim's ears lay low

"Tchtchtch. This is a "magical" camouflage jacket, you know? It may look bright for our team, but we will look camouflaged towards the surroundings for the other team."

"Magic sure is convenient. And blocks out the cold air! Kill two birds with one stone!"

With that said, Charlie, let's take a pic

as a memorial! Yay!" Cater wraps an arm around her and with her, managing to smile before the flash went off, he takes the selfie. "#NRC #HappyBeansDay #SupplyBoxGet #SorryDeuce-chan! Now that we're done with preparation, let's head straight to the coliseum." He puts his phone away. "Yes, let's go!" But before anyone of them could make a move.

"Found you, farmers team!"

"Chase them, chase them!"

Ugh, not again!

"Whoa, this is bad! There's quite a lot of monster team doing an ambush around here!" Cater backs up, protecting Charlie.

"There you are! I won't let you go to the magical harp!"

"Crap! There's more in front of us!" Charlie gasps.

"Let's force our way if it's like this! Let's go!" Cater grabs her hand for protection, and forcing the blood from his cheeks away, he pushed forward.

"We've somehow beaten the monster team coming in front but there's more chasing us!" Grim cried.

"They're so persistent, geez〜!" Cater huffs as he keeps running.

"We'll run out of beans soon!"

"Grim, that's because you're throwing them without thinking〜!"

Soon the trio was cornered. They turned to face their enemies.

"Looks like this is it..." Charlie whimpers.

"Oh, you guys seem to be in trouble.... Should I help you?" A voice from above calls out.

A few Leaves were rustled and then-

"Ow, ow!"

"There's beans from above!?" Do the students from the monster team we're pelted by the vegetable. Charlie raised an eyebrow in confusion and then looked up.
