"What?" you asked, your eyes wide.

"What did you just say?"

"I asked how your day was going."

"After that."

"I told you how my day was."

"Okay okay," he put his hands up in fake surrender. "I asked if you maybe wanted to go out to dinner with me." he shrugged.

"Like... Like a date? Or like-"

"Like a date." he scratched the back of his neck as he began to ramble, "But if you don't want to, that's cool and all. I just wanted to ask since you know, we're really close and I just thought maybe you would-"

"I'd love to."

"Great. Yeah great. So I'll pick you up at around seven then?"
