I was sitting on the couch watching a cartoon only Scott likes. He does let me change the channel. When I heard a knock on the door, I got up and Scott followed behind me.

Benny stood at the door with his baseball attire.

"Let's go, get your glove, let's go!"

"What's happening?"

"Night game, come on, come on!"

"Ms. Smalls we're going out!"

I grabbed the two gloves off the table next to the door, gave one to Scott and pushed the door open. I ran ahead of Benny, pushing my way through the crowd of people on the street. There is only one night game a year on the 4th of July and I looked forward to seeing the night sky lit up with exploding colors of light.

Benny takes baseball seriously, as do I. The others think of it as just a game but baseball to me and Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez is life. Every time the fireworks go off they stop and look at it but I pitch at the last moment and Benny hits it, running home every time.

"Come on Y/N"

I threw the ball and dust flew as he hit it, dropping the bat to run. I watched as the others turned their backs to Benny and watched the fireworks explode in the sky. I watched as Benny ran back to home base without any interruptions. He walked over to me and I finally turned around to see the fireworks. He wrapped his arm around my waist while I let my head lean backwards to see the fireworks better.

I saw him looking at me but I didn't look back. He started to get closer and I knew what was going to happen. I turned my head making his lips meet mine again. He pulled back slightly and I turned in his arms so now we're facing each other.

"I've been waiting to do this since the pool"

He smiled and came closer again, his lips met mine making fireworks go off inside my own body. My hand went behind his head, trying to bring him closer while he tightened his hold on me. Unfortunately, air exist and we had to pull away. His forehead rested on my mine, both of us not wanting to pull away fully. He continued to place small pecks on my lips while the whistle of fireworks seemed to not end. Eventually he stopped and pulled away far enough to see my face. I was speechless but he didn't say either. A grin graced his lips and I felt my own smile growing until certain voice broke up the moment.

“Oooo~”

“Wow~”

“Called it!”

“Whoa!”

The guys started to harmlessly tease Benny and me. I couldn't find it in myself to care with Benny’s arms wrapped around me.
