(in this part let's pretend Anne came after Gilberts fathers death)

You had to make a run into town to get supplies for your families farm.

You walked out store and saw the boy you have been missing for a long time.

The boy who's touch you craved.

The boy who's voice you longed for.

But he was talking to Anne, the new girl.

Feeling shocked you couldn't help but want to cry.

You didn't know what came over you, maybe jealousy but you couldn't feel that way.

Gilbert was your best friend.

Walking a bit too quickly you tripped causing a loud crash to the ground from the newest bought items.

You tried to quickly grab everything but you knew you failed when you heard footsteps coming up to you.

"Need any help?"Gilbert asked.

Shaking your head you kept your head low not wanting him to see you.

"Are you sure?"

Nodding you got everything in the bag.

"What's your name?"

Continuing to look down you shrugged.

Turning to walk away you felt a hand grab your arm making you turn.

"Y/n?"Gilbert asked shocked eyes widening. Hugging you, you couldn't help but feel..

"Hi Gilbert,"you smiled lightly.

"How are you?"He asked continuing to look at you.

"Good,"you replied looking up "how are you?"

"Better,"he admitted. He himself felt at home. You were the only person he talked to about his true feelings.

"How come you didn't come up to me sooner?"

"Well I saw you talking with Anne and I didn't want to interfere,"you shrugged playing with your hands. You did that when you were nervous and Gilbert knew that.

"You know Anne?"He asked eyeing your hands.

"She goes to our school."

"Y/n stop,"he said grabbing your hands "why are you nervous?"

"I don't know,"you lied.

"Why are you nervous."

"I don't want loose you again. Especially to a girl."

"Y/n I will never choose anyone over you. You will never loose me, I have thought about you everyday. I think of how you would let me play with your hair, how you taught me to cook and I taught you farm stuff, how we would share food at school, how we would race from school to our hangout, every little thing we've done I can't stop thinking about but,"he stopped and looked at you in the eyes "there's one thing I haven't done that I've always wanted to do."

"Wha-?"you were cut off by his lips.

He kissed you.

Your best friend kissed you.

Gilbert Blythe kissed you.
