《The Assassin's Mate》Chapter 33

"Again!" Dad yelled and I kicked the tree harder. He walked up to me and straightened my position with a little force. "Don't slouch! Straighten up your back and kick this damn tree!" I kicked the tree with as much force I could muster and tree fell down with a loud thud. I was panting and sweating.
"Good job baby." He clapped and kissed my head. "Now shift." I did as he said and I shifted into my wolf. I looked at him and he hadn't shifted.
"You're not shifting daddy?" I asked through the mind-link.
"No. I'm gonna fight you in my human form and you, in your wolf form." Mmm this is going to be easy. I circled my dad and growled at him and he took a fighting stance. I leapt on him but he dodged and I fell but quickly got up to my feet. I growled louder at him. I studied his next move and where to attack. I went for his left leg and bit on it hard. He winced in pain but I knew he would heal immediately. He pushed me off with great strength and I growled louder.
"What is wrong with you! Focus!" He barked at me and I growled. I jumped on him with full force and anger and bit him on the shoulder very hard. He let out a cry of pain and tried pushing me off but I used my whole weight to subdue him. I growled in his face and he raised up his hands in surrender. I gave him a wolfy grin and he patted my wolf head.
"That was very good. Now shift back." I shifted back into my human form.
" I'm going to correct somethings you did wrong and you will be very perfect but other than that, you were very very good. Well done baby." He said and kissed my head. The thing about training with my dad is that he doesn't take things easy with me. He wants me to be fully fit and strong before I face Demetrius. He knows I'd heal very fast that's why he doesn't have mercy or take things easy with me and I appreciate him for that. I hate it when people underestimate my potentials but my dad and Raiden don't do it and I'm very appreciative of it.
I decided to mind-link Raiden to come down here because I've only seen him this morning and now it's afternoon. I forgot to tell you that Raiden and I moved in the same room some weeks back and he's so freaking sweet. I love h-.
I just said the L word. I do love him so much but I don't know how to tell him that. It wasn't even up to a minute that I mind-linked him and he was here already. I ran up to him and jumped on him. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my hands around his neck. He stumbled back because he wasn't expecting me to hug him that way but he regained his balance. I don't know what came over me but I missed him so much and damn, this mate bond is getting stronger and stronger and I feel more attracted to him than ever. Raiden chuckled and kissed me on the lips with so much passion, hunger and lust. A cough broke us apart and he set me down on my feet. We turned to see my dad looking at us with folded arms. I smiled sheepishly at him.

"I don't remember telling you to invite him here." Dad said with a hint of amusement laced in his voice.
"Sorry dad but I just missed him so much." I blushed and snuggles closer into him. My dad shook his head with a smile dancing on his lips.
"I'll give you two some time alone before we continue training." I grinned at him and thanked him. Raiden and I walked to that lake I discovered when I just came to this place. The lake became our favorite spot because anytime we wanted to have some quiet time we came here. No one knows about here except Raiden and I. We sat in front of the lake and I rested my head on his shoulder and he held my waist. We sat in comfortable silence. I was contemplating whether to tell him I loved him or not.
"Oh just tell him already." Hope said and I could feel her rolling her eyes at me.
"What if he doesn't say it back."
"Really? Are you really thinking he wouldn't say it back?" Hope asked with an are-you-serious tone and I chuckled in my head. I took a deep breath and removed my head from his shoulder and turned to look at him. He looked at me in the eyes and I kept smiling and blushing.
"What? Why are you smiling like that?" He chuckled. I took a deep breath again and mustered enough confidence to say what I was about to say.
"I love you." I said lowly while looking down.
"What did you say?" He asked and I couldn't miss the happiness laced in his voice. I know he heard me but just wants me to say it louder. I looked him the eyes and cupped his face.
"I love you Raiden Black." His face broke out into the biggest and brightest grin I've ever seen on him. He smashed his lips on mine and honestly, this kiss felt better than the rest because it had so much passion, emotion and love. I felt so alive and I couldn't believe all of this. I was really happy with my life right now. We broke away from the kiss and he rested his forehead on mine.
"I love you too Darshana Vladimir." I laughed because of my last name. I don't know what was funny but it was kind of funny. I'm back to my normal last name. I'll miss Cameron a lot.
"Get back to training now." Dad said through the mind-link. I groaned and smacked my forehead.
"What?"
"Dad wants me back now." I said slightly disappointed. Raiden groaned too because our perfect moment was ruined. "Will you go back home?" I asked hoping he wouldn't go home.
"Nope. I'm going to watch you train." I grinned and kissed him again but was interrupted by another mind-link from my dad.
"Training, NOW." I groaned again and Raiden laughed. We went back to meet my dad and I saw him in his wolf form resting on his paws. When he saw us, he stood up on all fours. Raiden took a seat on a nearby rock.

"Should I shift?" I asked aloud.
"No. You will be fighting me in your human form." Dad said through the mind-link.
"But you are impossible to beat!" I exclaimed because my father is very, VERY strong and could take down at least 15 wolves in his human form.
"How do you expect yourself to win the fight with Demetrius if you can't beat me! Take your fighting stance." He ordered and I did. He leapt on me and I dodged him. I kept dodging all his moves.
"You are not gonna fight back?" Dad asked mockingly. Honestly, I was scared of fighting him. He would crush me. I ran to him and gave him a spear as he leapt in the air. We landed on a tree and it fell down with a very loud thud. My dad growled at me and I growled back. He ran very fast and suddenly disappeared. I had no idea where he went. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain on my right hind leg. I screamed in pain and toppled over.
"Princess!" I heard Raiden shout but I ignored him. My leg healed quickly and I stood up. I kicked my dad on the snout and I stumbled back a little. I kicked him in the head repeatedly and he fell. I know I have some powerful kicks that could make someone unconscious. He stood back on his paws and came charging at me. He tackled me to the floor and bit my right shoulder. I held back my scream and used all my strength to push him off me. He laughed an evil laugh in my head and circled me.
Then I started seeing images of when those rogues attacked me and my family when I was 7. Then I saw my mum and how she told me to run. Then I saw myself running and hearing the screams of my parents. I fell on the floor and screamed.
"Stop it!" I screamed and held my head. I heard Raiden yell my name and I looked to see him running to where I was but was stopped by an invisible wall. He looked so angry and agonized. Then I saw my self in that cell and how they tortured me. I held my head again and screamed.
"You think you'd be able to defeat Demetrius just like that?" My dad's voice was taunting. "You think he's weak! If that's what you think then you will FAIL!" He barked in my head. I knew my dad was the one making me see these images. Then I saw how they whipped me and how I almost escaped for the first time and how they killed Paul in front of me. I screamed and held my head while rolling on the floor. Tears streamed down my face and I was sweating profusely now. Then he showed me how killed my first victim when I became an assassin. Suddenly, I felt strong winds blowing and I heard the loud and aggressive swishing of trees.
Darsh was in so much pain and I could feel it. Whatever her father was doing to her, he needed to stop it immediately. I tried going to help her but was stopped by an invisible wall.
"I wouldn't enter if I were you." I heard her father's voice in my head.
"Stop what you are doing to her!" I growled at him. I heard Darsh scream once more while holding her head. She was crying and sweating so much. The pain she was going through was much and I so much wanted to help her. Then there was a very strong wind blowing and trees were swishing aggressively and loudly. I looked at Darsh and her silver eyes turned completely white. Like everything was white. The wind blew her white hair.
"I said STOP!" Her voice was so scary and loud. Her voice sounded so inhuman and I was scared. Her dad had already shifted back to his human form. I saw a ball of air circle around his head. He looked like he was choking and I realized what she was doing. She was snorting the life out of him. I had to do something before she regrets what she had done. The strong winds turned into an aggressive storm.
"Princess!" I screamed on top of my lungs because the storm was so loud. "Princess!" I screamed again and she looked at me. I swear, that was scary and quite sexy.
"Please baby, stop what you're doing. You are going to kill your father. Look at what you are doing!" I screamed and she turned to look at her father and looked back at me.
"Please calm down. Stop whatever you're doing princess. Stop it please, for me." The storm was reducing now and I had to say the one thing that I know would make her stop.
"I love you princess." And with that, the storm stopped and her eyes became her normal silver color. Her dad slumped to the ground and was coughing. I ran to her and held her. I rocked her back and forth on the ground trying to soothe her. I looked at her dad and he smiled proudly at her. This man is insane.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
