《The Assassin's Mate》Chapter 11

I woke up to see a gift by my bedside. A gift?
I took the gift and unwrapped it and there was a dress with a note inside. The note read:
"Put this on. I'll pick you up at 3pm.
Love, Raiden."
I laughed at how pathetic he was to buy me a dress and tell me what to do. I kept the box at the corner of my room and threw the stupid note away. I took a quick shower and put on sweatpants with a hoodie. I laid on my bed and listened to songs all through. I glanced at the clock in my room and it was 3pm. I laughed inwardly because any second now, Raiden will come in and he came in right on time.
"Okay. You're dressed now le-" he looked at me and saw that I wasn't dressed. His face hardened and I stifled a laugh.
"What?" I asked emotionless.
"I said you should get dressed now because we are going on a date." He said while folding his hands. Then I took in his appearance. He was wearing a buttoned up black shirt but he rolled up the sleeves. He wore black pants and paired it up with good looking shoes. He looked expensive which made me wonder how rich he was.
The way his muscles popped out like it was gonna rip out from his shirt. He looked really se-. You can't be thinking of this! Don't let the stupid bond have any effect! Resist it!
"I'm not going anywhere." I said as I folded my hands too. I saw his eyes turn pitch black.
"You are going alright." He smiled mischievously.
"Make me." I said as I glared at him.
"You snuck out yesterday for one of your missions, came back, killed one of my pack members and buried him. There are punishments for what you have done but as my mate, I'm gonna let you go free if you go on a date with me." He smirked.
I paled when he said that. I didn't know he was even there. How stupid of me.
"What kind of punishment? I will rather take it than go on a date with you." I spat. I saw hurt in his eyes but it quickly vanished.
"Punishment is by death. Once I tell the pack what you did, I assure you that Brian would be the first to kill you and trust me, you wouldn't want that princess." He smirked.

There is no way I'm gonna die in the hands of Brian. I decided to go on the damn date with him. Part of me wanted to go and the other part wanted to kill him. I love the other part of me that wants to kill him.
"Fine. Just leave so I can get ready." I said in defeat. He smiled like he just won a gold medal.
"I'll be waiting outside for you." He said and left the room.
There was no way I was putting on that dress. So I decided to wear a white button up shirt and rolled up the sleeves. I matched it with a pair of white skinny jeans and white converse. I plaited my hair in a side fishtail braid and wore lipgloss. I took my phone and my purse. I made sure to put a gun in my purse just in case. I went downstairs and walked outside and met him there. As soon as he turned around to look at me, his eyes turned pitch black as he looked me up and down. That was probably lust.
"Wow. You look great princess." He said as he tried to take my hand but I took a step back and his face fell at what I did.
"I see you decided to match with me." He smirked. I gave him a confused look and he motioned to our outfits. Shit! I forgot what he wore and wore the same, but in a different color. His, black and mine, white. So stupid.
"Whatever. Let's just get this over with." I said as I started walking ahead.
"So eager to start this date huh?" He chuckled and I glared at him.
"You will have to ride on me." He said and I looked at him in disbelief.
"Ride on you?! What the hell Raiden! That's not what you sa-" he cut me off with his laughter.
"Calm down princess. That's not what I meant. I meant that I would change into my wolf and you will ride on my back." He chuckled. I glared at him and looked away in embarrassment. He started taking off his clothes and I looked away. Something nuzzled on my hand and I turned around to his pitch black wolf. Somehow, I liked his wolf better than him.
I didn't know when I ran my hand through his fur and he purred. I withdrew my hand immediately. He used his head to point at his clothes on the ground for me to pick up and I picked it up. He lowered on the ground for me to get on and I got on and he took off. I tightened my hold on his fur and he kept moving with so much speed. I loved the way the wind was blowing on my face and how the trees blurred as he ran past them. He stopped and I slid down from his back. He took his clothes in his mouth and went behind a tree to change.

"Let's go." He said as he came out and we started walking forward. We stopped at a picnic mat set on the floor with candles surrounding the place. There was a basket in the middle of the mat with a flower vase. There was music playing in the background.
"This is so cliché." I muttered under my breath.
"I heard that." How did he...right, werewolf hearing.
We sat on the picnic mat and removed the things from the basket.
"I didn't know what you like so I packed almost everything." He said and scratched the back of his neck. We had burgers, sandwiches, cornbread, lasagna, meat loaf, pomegranate juice, orange juice, chocolates, cakes, skittles and a bottle of white wine.
Hold up....skittles?! Yay! He brought skittles.
"I take it that you love skittles." He said as he took a bite out of his sandwich.
"How do you know?" I asked him suspiciously.
"You were staring at it while smiling." He smirked.
"Oh." I blushed.
"Oh my god! Did you just do that?!" Raiden exclaimed.
"Do what?" I was confused as to what he was talking about.
"You blushed! Your cheeks turned red!" Raiden had this huge smile on his face and it kinda looked cute on him.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him.
"So why are you an assassin?" Raiden asked.
"None of your business." I said still not looking at him.
"Okay then. Want to share childhood memories?" He asked. Painful memories of my childhood flashed before me then anger surged through me.
"Is that why you brought me out here?! To ask me stupid questions?!" I yelled at him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." He apologized but I was still angry. Not because of him but because of what I went through.
"The hell you didn't! You are such a pain in the ass!" I yelled at him and this time, it was his turn to yell back at me.
"I'm a pain in the ass?! What are you then?! You are so closed up to yourself! You push anyone who tries to come close to you away! Just let someone in. It's obvious you have problems so let people help you. Let me help you." His voice broke at the end of his sentence.
He is right but I can't tell anyone my past. Not even him. It still hurts to think about it and I still get nightmares but I can live with it.
"I will nev-" I didn't get to complete my sentence because I was cut off by a branch snapping. Raiden and I turned our heads to the direction of where the sound came from. I slipped my hand into my purse and brought out my gun. I hid it behind me and waited.
Out of nowhere, a brownish red wolf appeared and jumped on Raiden. He took it out immediately and two more jumped out. Raiden ran to the first one and broke its neck. I'm surprised he did all this in human form. I wonder how strong he is.
One of the wolves jumped on me and tackled me to the ground. It was snapping it's teeth at me, aiming for my neck. I slid my hand under its tummy and pulled the trigger. I shot it twice and it fell on ground and I saw life leave its eyes.
"What the hell! You brought a gun to our date!" Raiden yelled but I saw pride in his eyes.
"To protect myself and I just did that." I said while dusting the dirt off my now stained white clothes.
"Let's just leave this place." He said and stuck his hand out for me to take and I took it as he dragged me up.
"Good idea." He changed into his wolf and I climbed on him and we took off.
