《Stuck in Between (Reaper!Sans X Reader)》~Chapter 19~

The instant you touched her hand, bitter cold spread through your veins. Her image changed, like a filter had been placed over her, or taken away. Her eyes became small red beads swimming in oceans of inky obsidian. Her grin, seconds ago sweet and innocent, turned surrated and jagged with misshapen fangs protruding from her cracked, pale lips. She seemed almost doll-like as her already pale skin whitened, red flushing her cheeks to dramtic pink. When her teeth seperated, a demonic roar of a cackle deafened you.
You couldn't breath through the fear that choked you. "idiot!" Entropy growled, yanking your arm and trapping you under a glimmering black blade.
"Y-You can't k-kill me! I'm already d-dead!" You stuttered, beginning to shake as well.
"" She hissed. The obsidian blade pressed into your jugular and you could feel the small pain begin to expand with pressure. ""
"So what?! What are you going to gain from killing me?" You asked.
"" she responded without skipping a beat. ""
You could feel your cheeks flush and you forced a laugh. "Heh, sorry but you've already failed then. There is no way Death loves me!" You muttered. "He's just doing his job."
"" Entropy pointed out. ""
Entropy removed her blade and walked around the front of you. You were tempted to make a run for it, but you couldn't see anything for as far as the eye could see. You stayed and Entropy smiled, knowing you had no other choice. "I forced the reset to happen. Death had no say when I did that... and why does it even matter?! What do you want from Death?" You asked.
"" She said simply. ""
You could feel your body go cold. "W-What?" You whispered.
Entropy cackled with bone-chilling horror. "" She howled. ""
Your eyes widened in horror and you wobbled to your feet. "No..." You muttered. "Why! You can't!"
"." She said, her tone now growling and low.
As though cued by fate, a ginormous tear ripped through the fabric of reality, just beyond Entropy. Her Cheshire grin was left behind as suddenly her grip on your neck once again choked your breath away. Tendrils of hypnotizing black fell through the rift like a foreshadowing to the arrival. The air around you was heavy with dread as from the hallow tear arose a familiar, now terrifying figure. His robe floated around him in an ominous manner, the jagged torn edges making him feel more dangerous than you knew him to be. His usually gentle expression was now deadly and sinister. His scythe glinted at you, reflecting a sliver of your expression back at you. Your eyes appeared small and shaking, and in the blade of his weapon you saw your throat pressed under Entropy's own threat. "Hello Death~" Entropy hummed, her voice having returned to that of the sweet child she impersonated. "You were almost late. It's lucky no time passes for gods and dead."
"Death don't-" Entropy cut off your words with the pressure of her knife.
"I see you and my friend here have met." Entropy curled with words, making them appear smooth.
"What do you plan to do with her?" Death said with venom on his tongue. His voice was as dangerous as his gaze. "You have no business interfering with the dead."
"Oh my darling Death, I am the dead." Entropy laughed.
Death didn't respond, but when he moved forward towards you and Entropy it filled you with a sense of fear. The dark cloud of black that twisted in his wake seemed to expand and thicken the longer time ticked away. "What do you want?" He asked.

"You know what I want my robed friend. And you know exactly how to make that happen." Entropy chirped.
"You know too well I can't do that." He retorted.
"You're not supposed to be able to kill the dead either. It seems I break a lot of rules." Entropy giggled, her blade now breaking skin as well.
"Death turn around! You can't possibly trade the world away! Don't trust her!" You choked.
"" Entropy snarled, momentarily flickering to her demonic form. Her smile returned and she looked back at Death. "As I was saying before I was rudely interupted... the trade is simple. You give me that scythe of yours and let me go about my buisness interfering, and I'll let you and your girlfriend live free."
"We aren't dating!" You groaned. "And I'm not worth the entire world. Death please listen to me!"
You bit down a yelp as Entropy dragged the blade, creating a shallow cut over your neck. "I thought I told you to Tick tock Death!"
You wouldn't die from it but it still hurt. Death froze as he restrained himself. His posture was almost animalistic, like he was prepared to pounce, but his eyes were conflicted. He was weighing his options.
Your head swarmed with solutions but none of them would pan out. Your heart was beating and you imaged for a second if Death did take her deal, and kept her word. What if you did live forever with Death? What if you had the chance to be happy with someone you cared so deeply for? What if you mattered so much to him he took the deal?
Would it be an eternity of laughing at stupid jokes in a meadow of eternal flowers. Weaving crowns. Telling stories. With only the god you'd grown to...
How do I feel about him?
It felt like everything stilled. You cared for him, obviously, but how. You wanted to make him happy, to satisfy the time he spends with you. You wanted to be near him in a way you both would enjoy. You wanted to meet every side of him and grow to love them as much as you loved him as a whole...
Love? Do I... love Death?
You saw it behind your eyelids and tears welled up. You loved him, you knew now, but why did you have yo realize that now?!
Entropy mocked him as she sang in a childish tune. "Tick tock~ Tick tock~ Tick tock~"
You watched as his shoulders began to slacken, but it was slow. He didn't want to damn the world, but he was doing it anyway?! Why did he care so much about one troublesome soul?! "WHY DO I MATTER?!" You screamed, not meaning to.
Your memories of the mortal world filled your mind, but at the center was your time with Death and Life. You loved them both, in different ways, but they were worth much more than you. You watched Frisk smile and unite humanity thousands of times and every good and bad time, all in an instant.
When you opened your eyes, Entropy was agrivated and annoyed. Death had hesitated, holding his scythe in an iron grip but his arms outstretched like he was about to offer it.
Your brow furrowed as you yelled again. "WHY DO I MATTER?! FOR FUCK'S SAKE LISTEN WHEN I SPEAK!" You snapped. "I'M NOT WORTH THE WORLD!!!"
"YOU ARE MY WORLD!!" Death snapped back, making you jump back. There was quiet, and Entropy began to laugh.

"How cheesy is this?!" She teased. "Just hurry up and give me the scythe dear old Grim."
"The only advantage you have here is me." You whispered, glancing as best as you could back at Entropy.
This time when you grabbed at the blade, you didn't claw to remove it away from your neck. Entropy's eyes widened as she realized too late your intention. "If I'm your only token, then say goodbye to your plan." You growled, glancing once more at Death before shoving the blade deeper into your neck.
"" Entropy cried, her trying to yank the knife away only finishing you off more than you had yourself.
You choked on the mysterious fluid that filled your throat, and spat the dark, almost sparkling substance. Your vision disappeared quickly and feeling leaked away from you.
Death had already taken away your body, so it worried you to see what happened when you didn't even have a soul. You closed your eyes and fell forward as you body slowly dissolved into the same dark fluid. The last thing you heard was Death's vicious roar of pain.

Hell quaked beneath the rage that filled that void. Death watched as his love destroyed her own being in order to save the world she once called home. However, now Entropy was left with no bargain to offer and a seething Death god.
The god descended on her in a fit of livid anger, the heavy weight of her sins not only slowing her, but now hindering her as she tried fruitlessly to escape Death. But in the end, Death will always win.
Death devoured her being to the deepest pit of hell then turned to the dark remains left of his love. Burdened first by his anger, then by his sorrow, Death collapsed at the dark fluid and swept.

Your body felt weightless, but you couldn't exactly see it. It was similar to an out of body experience, but different in a way. You couldn't see or hear, or taste or smell. You only felt the hallow, weightlessness of your being.
'Death beyond Death' You thought.
'Dark beyond Darker'
More than anything, it was lonely. You'd seen the void, but this was somehow worse. You couldn't pinpoint why it was, but it seemed that just being here rubbing away your will to exist in anyway. 'Darker and Darker'
"You have surprised us gods." A haunting voice rang, breaking the white noise of silence. "A mortal rarily does so."
"I can't see you." You said dully. "Who is it that greets me in death beyond my first death?"
"My name has been lost for many an era, but more purpose seems to arise once again." He echoed.
"I see. May I ask what it is?"
"You shall see... my son shall be pleased by the King's decision... and the King by mine..."
"You're an odd man." You joked, relaxing slightly.
"I am much more than a man."
His voice seemed to fade away and you felt light brush your eyelids. When you open them, it toom a moment to adjust to the blinding light. You knelt before a throne, upon the throne sitting a large, furry god.
It took nothing more than his presence to tell you so. On instinct, you lowered yourself in a deep bow.
"What's this? Who are you?" He asks, his voice so loud you jump.
"I'm..." You search for your name for a moment. "My name (Y/N) my King. A man shrouded in Death beyond the dark says his decision is made."
You hoped it made more sense to him than it did you. You finally looked up at the King and gasped. His furry exterior was familiar and you recalled Life's old tales of her incompetent king.
"You are Asgore, King of Gods..." You whispered in awe. "But... I can't be... if I am... King Asgore where is Death?!" You called in panick.
"You have desire to see Death? Why is that?" He asked.
"Please sire! Tell me where he is! The last he's seen of me was a lost soul lost to Entropy's knife! I need to tell him I'm okay! I need to tell him-"
"You survived Entropy's cut." Asgore interupted, visibly impressed.
"Please sire. I don't want Death to suffer." You begged.
He took a moment then nodded. "You may leave." He allowed, gesturing to a door.
You rushed to it, but when you opened it it only revealed a blank wall. "Sire the door-"
"You must envision where you wish to be then open it again." He explained.
You nodded and closed the doors once more. You closed your eyes and thought, seeing only Death in your mind. You could see the void where you died and watched as he cried at your remains. Your hand tightened around the doorhandle and you opened it. Just beyond the door was Death, his back turned from the light.
Entropy was not far off her own being slowly dissolving. All that remained of your previous boldy was stained white dress, and Death clutched it tightly. His tears were luminescent as they trickled down his face. The door closed behind you and you stepped towards him.
You were silent, praying he wouldn't lash out. "I'm sorry..." you cooed. "I'm here now. I'm so sorry."
You lowered to your knees behind him and wrapped your arms around him. He stopped, slowly lifting a hand to hold your arm. "It was so dark... but he approved of me. The man said I was worthy." You whispered.
Death's grip on your arm tightened as he turned. His movement was slow, as if you'd break if he moved any faster. When he faced you, you smiled.
Tears ran over your face and they trickled down your cheeks in golden streams. Your body glowed with the same golden light as you looked at Death.
"(Y/N)... you're... you've become..." He couldn't find his words.
In a flash of light, the scenery changed and white filled the room. A familiar blue sky and a field of buttercups. Your clothing had change from the white dress of a passed soul and now you were wrapped in creme stained robes, tied at the waist with a silk (F/C) sash. Two large, feathery wings rested at your sides, making Death more surprised than you were.
You smiled broadly as you pulled Death close and clung to him. "I love you Death." You whispered.
He laughed as he squeezed you tightly against him. He was silent and you pulled away to look him in the eye. "Death?"
He answered with a strong kiss, pressing his teeth against your lips. You were surprised when you felt the invisble softness of lips but you didn't care. You closed your eye and enjoyed the first of many embraces you'd get from your immortal love.
