《Bingge's Story-Shifting System (SVSSS Bingge x Shizun)》Chapter 4: Unlocking Memories, Uncertain Emotions (Part 1)

While sleeping, Luo Binghe tried his best to manipulate his own dreamscape so he can see who's behind the god voice. It was to no avail. He then called out, "Great God sir? Wouldn't you even show your face in my dreams?"
[Learning more about me does not matter. You must focus on learning about this world and Shen Qingqiu.]
"Alright then." Luo Binghe sighed dejectedly, but there's no real sorrow on his face, just a playful smile. "I really don't understand a single thing of my life here. Can't you give me a hand for a bit?"
The god voice thought for a moment.
[Would you like to exchange 125 pearls to unlock some of this world's Luo Binghe's memories?]
Bingge thought for a bit. This means he's left with only 25 pearls, thanks to the addition he got from letting Shen Qingqiu comb his hair and laying on his lap. There seems to be pattern on these things, and he doesn't like it one bit. He wants to confirm it first by probing this Shen Qingqiu's memories through dreamscapes, but now the god voice is giving him a chance to view his own, though for a high price. Still, Luo Binghe is an arrogant, valiant protagonist, so he immediately took the risk.
"Sure."
Binghe was then transported to a dreamscape that he didn't create, with memories that were not his own. And it all began with him seeing his own younger self, at the height of his abuse and trauma from Shen Qingqiu and other Cang Qiong peak disciples.
Though this particular scene never happened to him, it might as well have. Everyone were riding horses down the mountain for some unknown reason, and he was the only one left behind almost trampled and eating dusts as they go. The leader of this oppression was Ming Fan, who he killed with his own hands. Luo Binghe felt a sense of satisfaction seeing this old enemy of his, knowing that he already pulverized the bastard into pulp. The more wicked his schemes were for bullying his younger self, the colder and deeper his smile was. Then the travelling group went to a halt and he was suddenly called over by Ning Yingying, one of his most useless wives.

Luo Binghe couldn't hear clearly, since he's watching from quite a distance. Since he doesn't know the effects of interfering with the dreamscape memory, he didn't approach closer to eavesdrop. But he watched his younger self closely as he was led by Ning Yingying to a carriage, and with his sharp vision he can see who was inside.
It was Shen Qingqiu. Obviously, Luo Binghe expected he was going to get abused again, whether physically or verbally; probably the latter, since the scumbag master can't do much with Ning Yingying around. What he didn't expect is that his younger self went inside the carriage, exchange a few lines with the person inside, and the travelling group carried on. Ming Fan and his other friends were shocked with disbelief.
Bingge scowled. Unable to take it anymore, he merged with the shadows to tail the carriage and peeked on the window, hanging on the rails unseen. He observed closely the two people, trying to seek any tension or heaviness in the air. Though his younger self's posture was slightly awkward, there was no malintent in Shen Qingqiu's eyes.
They were speaking earlier, but he didn't manage to catch it. So Luo Binghe was caught off-guard when he saw his younger self smile at Shen Qingqiu!
And Shen Qingqiu smiled back!
He clenched his fist, not knowing which of the two he want to punch more. This is definitely not his past self. What are you smiling at that bastard for? Did you forget all the times he got you beat up and kicked out like a stray dog? And it's that dumb, genuine smile, do you even have any shame left?!
He took hold of the young 'Luo Binghe's' collar without thinking, and suddenly there was a flash of light.
Suddenly, he was transported to a different scene, but this time, he woke up in the body of another, tied up. It seems that the dreamscape had gotten more vivid, and he's now in the perspective of Bing-mei instead of watching from afar. What this memory felt was what he felt, and the thoughts running on the young disciples mind was also his. Such was the cause of getting in contact with the past self in the dreamscape.

Still reeling from having doubled thoughts and emotions, Bingge had just noticed that he is staring directly at white flesh, with two red fruits on it. It was a topless, unconscious man... no other than Shen Qingqiu!
"Shizun! Wake up, Shizun!" His mouth moved on it's own, not able to control the body he's possessing. Through the quick trains of thoughts buzzing on his younger self's mind, Bingge was able to grasp the context of the situation they are in.
As the scene unraveled before him; The Skinner's arrival, the taunts, Ning Yingying's pleas, and everything in that moment playing like a virtual reality movie, Bingge took in everything blankly. He was being affected by the body's fears and finding himself to worry about the topless man before him as well. Just then, when Shen Qingqiu said the Skinner should take his skin instead, to bash his head to find out for itself why Luo Binghe was special, a great pang of betrayal struck him in the heart.
Because of this betrayal, Bingge was able to gather his own thoughts. Yes, now you can see exactly how cruel that man you call 'Shizun' is. But these thoughts were blocked when a beam fell on top of The Skinner just as it was about to strike, and the Immortal Binding Cables also went slack, setting him free.
Despite the feeling of betrayal earlier, the young Luo Binghe still stood up and helped untie his master, and Shen Qingqiu striked The Skinner in the chest, defeating it.
The young Luo Binghe was in awe, while the Bingge was in daze. Earlier,' Butterfly' or the Skinner or whatever, said that Shen Qingqiu was the one who made the beam fall to save him. If that's true, then it wasn't betrayal but...
"You want to ask what I planned to do if the ceiling beam hadn't suddenly fallen down earlier? This can be counted as blaming this master?" So it wasn't him who made it fell, yet Bingge is still confused. If he meant for young Luo Binghe to die, then why does he look guilty and apologetic now? This Binghe is still being tortured and abused, yet why did he smile earlier? Just what does this Shen Qingqiu think of him?
His young self said sincerely with all his heart, despite being in pain of the possibility of betrayal: "No. If I can give up my life for Shizun, it would be an honor for this disciple."
Such loyalty, it left Bingge dumbfounded!
"Then this master will also tell you. Even if something does happen, nothing will happen to you."
...What does that mean? Both him and the young not-him were pondering over the meaning of these words. Could it be that he know of my hidden strength from being a half-demon? Bingge interpreted the words logically.
Could it be... Shizun is telling me that he'll always protect me no matter what? Young Binghe interpreted it too romantically! What is wrong with this kid?!
And yet, Shen Qingqiu's compassionate expression didn't help clear up the misunderstanding at all. Bingge felt the bright, puppy-love happiness that Young Binghe was feeling in his heart, and he don't know whether to laugh or cry.
The memories of another him is truly a nightmare.
