Lutut menyentuh lantai, keringat mengalir di sisi wajah tampan seorang remaja berusia 17 tahun, alis tebal rapi, mata bulat bercahaya, seolah ada gugusan bintang di netra berwarna gelap itu. Binghe, murid berprestasi yang sepertinya apes untuk kali ini, bersama anak-anak nakal lainnya dia tertangkap guru piket saat sedang berniat membolos. Begitulah berita acara yang tertulis yang harus dia tandatangani. Namun, tidak mudah untuk membuatnya mengakui dan terima atas tuduhan itu.
"Aku tidak melanggar, aku tidak berniat untuk membolos pelajaran." Sekuat apa pun dia membela diri, nyatanya barang bukti tas miliknya kini tengah disita pihak sekolah---berada di kejadian perkara. Bahkan, sudah berada di luar pagar.
"Terus saja kau mengelak, itu menjadi alasanku untuk terus menghukummu!" suara rendah seorang guru muda dengan rotan di genggamannya, matanya menyelidik satu per satu murid yang kini tengah berlutut di lapangan. Di tengah kebisuan, terdengar sabetan rotan menghantam tubuh tegap pemuda yang tetap bersikeras tidak berniat untuk mengakui, membuat beberapa orang yang berlutut bersamanya secara spontan mengangkat tangan mengakui kesalahannya---ketakutan.
Jam sudah menunjukkan tengah hari, kini Binghe tinggal seorang diri---temannya telah diproses. Seorang guru muda menunjukan senyum sinis. Sambil melempar kertas yang berisi surat pemanggilan orang tua.
Mata indah sendu itu terangkat menatap guru tersebut, tangannya sedikit bergetar. Sekilas guru yang di kenal paling galak itu, Shen Qingqiu, memperhatikan perubahan mimik wajahnya.
"Shizun ... jika aku mengakui kesalahanku, orangtuaku tidak perlu dipanggilkan?"
"Kau tandatangani dulu surat itu dan terima hukumannya."
"Baiklah." Dengan polos Binghe menandatangani. Dan menjalani hukuman selama seminggu membantu para guru, dll.

Binghe kembali selepas pulang sekolah dengan hati yang kacau, setelah menandatangani surat pengakuan bersalah, dirinya dihadapkan dengan guru pembimbing yang menjelaskan jika beasiswa terancam dicabut jika dia sekali lagi mendapat surat peringatan.
"A luo, kau sudah pulang? Ibu memasak makanan enak untukmu." Senyum wanita yang tidak lagi terlihat muda. Kerutan menghiasi wajahnya yang semakin terlihat lelah karena keadaan. Bekerja siang malam untuk mencukupi kebutuhan mereka berdua di sisa usianya.
"Terima kasih, Ibu," Binghe menjawab dengan lembut.
Jika ada keinginan satu-satunya di dunia ini mungkin tanpa ragu-ragu dia akan mengatakan, aku ingin ibuku bahagia.
