Rosalie was allowed to go to a ball, she wasn't stuck in her room since she was competing for Miss Mystic Falls and Rosalie sat on a chair as her brothers dance.
"Are you okay?" A man asks her
"Yes." Rosalie answers
"Then why aren't you dancing?" He asks
"Because I do not wish to torture someone." She smiles and he chuckles.
"Marcellus but you can call me Marcel." He says as he holds out his hand
"Rosalie but you can call me Rose or Rosie." She says as he kisses her hand.

Rosalie walks through New Orleans and into a bar
"Hey, I'm Camille. What can I get you?" A blonde woman says
"Beer, please." Rosalie says.
Rosalie still hated beer but it reminded her of the time when Klaus would always drink it on the road trip.
"Never thought I would hear Rosalie Salvatore ordering a beer." A voice says
"Well, I never thought I would hear your voice again, Marci." Rosalie says
"I'll have a beer as well, please and I'll pay for hers." Marcel says and Camille smiles and nods.
"I thought you would be dead." Marcel says
"Same for you." Rosalie says
"Well, why are you here?" He asks as he pays for the drinks.
"Because I remember you never told me your birthday and I heard of the King of New Orleans, Marcel Gerard." She says as she sips the drink.

"But are you seriously going to sit here all night?" Marcel asks
"What are you proposing?" She asks
"Rosalie, would you like to dance with me?" He asks.
"Sure." She says and they start to dance

"So, why are you at this event?"
"Because I'm competing in Miss Mystic Falls and I need an escort." She explains.
"Why not me?" He asks
"Why would I pick you I have lots of men who want to me my escort." She says looking away from him and he nods along
"Right, then why am I the only one of 'lots of men' who you have danced with?" He asks.
"I don't have an answer for everything." Rosalie says and they laugh
"So, what is your full name for the event?" She asks
"Gerard, Marcellus or Marcel Gerard." He answers.
"What's yours?" He asks
"Salvatore, Rosalie or Rosie or Rose Salvatore." She says.

"So, he's dead?" Marcel asks after Rosalie explains what happened
"Yep." She says
"And your brother killed him?" He asks
"That is correct." Rosalie nods
"So, the full story is your brother killed your boyfriend and picked a girl over you?" Marcel asks.
"That is also correct." Rosalie says as she sips her beer
"And I thought I had family issues." He mutters
"So, will you go back?" Marcel asks.
"Yeah, I miss my shoes and scrapbooks." Rosalie says
"Scrapbooks?" He asks
"Yeah, I have an 'addiction'." Rosalie says and then gets a message from Rebekah.
"I have to go back." Rosalie says
"Well, my door is always open if you need a place to stay." Marcel says
"Thanks Marci." She says
"No problem, Ro." He says and kisses her head.
"This will not be the end of Marcel and Rosalie." She says as she walks to her car
"This is just the beginning." He says.

Rosalie parked up at the hill and walked up it to see all the roses dead and she did a spell to make them survive the winter and cried.
