It's been 146 years since Rosalie Salvatore was burned at the stake, 146 years since the Salvatore brothers where shot and turned into vampires, 146 years since their father was killed by Stefan. The Salvatore brothers didn't just lose their sister, they lost a piece of them.

Damon Salvatore enters the tomb with Elena Gilbert trying to find his love Kathrine Pierce. Stefan then enters the tomb to see his brother muttering something while frantically looking around

"What?" Stefan asks then Damon takes out a blood bag and throws it at a wall

"She's not here!" He yells and then something catches their eyes.

A light coming from another room, Damon and Stefan look at each other in confusion and then go into a room and stop. A coffin lays on the ground with a name engraved in it. Stefan walks to the coffin and Damon follows him to see the name.

Rosalie Lily Salvatore

It was a wooden coffin with leather on top and the name engraved sewn with gold string with the immortality symbol on top of it and was also engraved in the wall. The brothers look at each other as they silently agree to open the coffin.

They both try using both of their strength and eventually get the lid open.

A pale redhead lay there with her eyes closed in her night gown, the one Stefan last saw her in. Her lips were cracked so much there was dried blood on them and her heart beat was faint.

Suddenly her eyes opened, a gasp escaped her lips and her heart beat was normal. She blinked a few times to adjust her vision.

"Damon? Stefan?" She tries to speak but her throat hurt because it was so dry.

"Hey, Rosie." Damon smiles with tears in his eyes looking down at his baby sister.

"Why are you crying?" She whispers with tears and then violently coughs, blood splattering on her pale cracked lips.

"I'll carry her." Damon says and he kneels down and she reaches with all of her strength and hooks her arms around his neck and then gasps.

"Don't. Please." She chokes as the ropes get tighter and he lights the wood and the ropes get tighter and tighter until her eyes close and she takes her last breath.

Tears start to fall and she hides her face in her brother's neck as she hears someone shout

"Stefan, they can't hold it much longer!" It was an unfamiliar voice and then they began to walk back.

Elena waits as Bonnie and Shelia Bennett chant, Elena sees two shadows and sees Stefan walk out of the tomb first but then confusion is written on her face when she sees Damon carrying someone.

"Stefan, who is she?" She turns to her boyfriend for answers as she turns her head to the mysterious girl again

"This is Rosalie, our sister." Stefan answers his girlfriend's question

"Sister? I thought she died." She says in shock

"So did we. We found her in a room with the infinity symbol engraved on the wall."

"Also known as the immortality symbol." Sheila says.

"She's not a vampire. She looks completely different to the ones in the tomb." Elena says looking at the girl

"If the immortality symbol was engraved on the wall a powerful witch must of did it and must of cost them their life to save your sister."

"Let's go back to our house so we can get her clothes and wait for her to wake up." Damon says to his brother

"She's asleep? Again?" Stefan asks

"Yep. Let's go."

Damon carried Rosalie upstairs as everyone followed him and Stefan handed him a key for the door.

"I thought no one was supposed to go into that room?" Elena asks

"It's Rosalie's room that we decorated for her and locked since it was too painful." Stefan explains.

They open the door to reveal her room, that they made for her in honour of her life and her being part of the family.

"Don't just stand there, we have important business." Shelia tells them and they place the girl on the bed

"What do we do now?" Elena asks

"We wait until she wakes up."

The young girl stirs awake and looks around her room to see no one there,

"Stefan! Damon!" She calls and begins to panic, then the door opens.

"Sweetheart, relax, I'm Shelia Bennett your brothers are downstairs. I'm here to help you get ready." She says calmly

Rosalie nods and she tries to stand as Shelia helps her and leads her into her bathroom where a bath has been drawn for the girl with different shampoos and body washes. Shelia then gets a bag from the other room.

"This is my self care bag, I thought you might need somethings from it." She says and gets a lip balm out and explains what it is to her and cleans the girls lips and puts it on her and dips her finger into the water.

"Am I allowed to remove your nightgown, Rosalie?" The older woman asks and the girl nods and she carefully takes it off and she helps the girl into the bath.

Shelia scrubs the dirt off as Rosalie sits there trying to think of what question to ask first.

"What year is it?" She asks

"2010, sweetheart." Shelia responds

"How are my brothers alive?" And Shelia looks at the young girl and explains all of it.

"So how am I alive?" She wonders after hearing all about the supernatural

"I have few ideas why but don't worry about it tonight." Sheila says and grabs Rosalie a towel and helps her get out of the bath and then getting her some pyjamas.

Shelia got a white nightgown for the girl as the girl stared at herself in the mirror looking at the burn marks on skin and closed her eyes.

"I didn't do anything! I'm not a witch!" She shouts as they dragged her up the hill as the other men with torches of fire follow beside her.

A knock on the door brought the girl out of her thoughts and she wipes a tear from her cheek and opened the door,

"Here, sweetheart, I'll be outside." She says and closed the door and the girl got changed.

Rosalie walked out the bathroom and Shelia blow dried her hair with magic and then the girl was ready to see her brothers

"Are you ready?"

"Yes."

"So what is your sister like?" Elena asks pacing around

"She's nice but she does have a bitchy side which is also great and we love her for it." Damon says and then the brothers hear footsteps and turn their heads to see their sister.

"Hi." She says and both of them engulf her into a hug with tears in their eyes

"Rosie." Both of them said.

The Salvatore siblings were reunited at last, they only thought the way they would is in death and in dream. All of them wished to see each other again even if the brothers had no humanity, thinking of their sister would bring them back eventually.

They pull apart and Rosalie sees at the corner of her eye someone that looks like Katherine and walks to them

"I'm Rosalie, you must be Elena." She says and holds out her hand and Elena shakes Rosalie's hand.

"It's lovely to meet you." Rosalie says

"Same here." Elena responds and Rosalie smiles and then sees a person hug Shelia and Rosalie realises it's Shelia's granddaughter, Bonnie. Rosalie then walks towards her.

"I just wanted to thank you and this is for you." Rosalie takes off a necklace and places it in her hand

"Your ancestor, Emily Bennett gave it to me to help me with spells and I think it will help, though with the spell you help Shelia on you might not need help so it's just to have something of hers." And Bonnie looks at her with happy tears

"Thank you." She whispers.

"So, are you vampire?" Damon asks her

"No, but I only remember dying and then Katherine helping me." She says

"Katherine helped you?"

"Yeah, I woke up and she was there with a witch and then she led me to the church and the witch made a little room for me and put me to sleep." She explains.

"Okay, tomorrow you are going to get new clothes and catch up." Damon says and eventually everyone left and soon the Salvatore's went to bed.

The next day

Rosalie walks downstairs to see her brothers talking, it still felt like it was all a dream and they weren't really there. She felt complete and yet like something was missing like she was so close to having pure happiness but she didn't know what.

"Hey, sleepyhead." Damon says as he walks to her and kisses her head

"What are we doing today?" She asks playing with her fingers

"We are going to take you shopping and then we are going figure some stuff out, okay?"

She nods and goes into the kitchen and gets a glass of water and Damon enters the kitchen

"So what do you want to eat? Pancakes, waffles, you name it." He says

"I'm not really hungry, I think I'm just overwhelmed I don't want to throw up." She says and Damon nods understanding.

"Lets go get you something to wear that feels like you, because you do not suit Elena's old clothes." Damon says and she nods and goes to her room and then walks back downstairs

"I have no clothes that match this century.'' She says

"Okay, come with me." Stefan says and they both walk upstairs.

Stefan hands her one of his shirts and gets a pair of shorts and shoes

"Don't worry, these are from my friend. You would of liked her." Rosalie nods and then goes to her room and gets changed.

"I thought you guys were taking me shopping?" Rosalie asks as they park at a house

"That was until we realised that you need girl things." Damon says

"Well, I am a girl you are correct." She nods.

Then the door opens and Bonnie walks out the house and Rosalie gets out the car

"Good luck, Rosie." Damon says as he rolls up the window and drives off and Bonnie walks to her car and Rosalie follows her and they get in the car.

"So, what's your favourite colour?" Bonnie asks her

"Red." Rosalie says, she loved the colour mostly because for her birthday her brothers would buy her roses as a joint gift.

"Okay, we will go bra shopping, clothes shopping, shoes shopping and then we can get makeup and skincare." Bonnie says and Rosalie nods and Bonnie drives.

The girls had been to lots of stores and got clothes, shoes and other things, then while they were walking they came across Caroline.

"Oh, my god Bonnie! How are you?"

She says as she hugs her

"I'm good, Caroline this is Rosalie, Damon and Stefan's sister." Bonnie introduces.

"Hi, I'm Caroline Forbes, it is great to meet you." She says holding out her hand as Rosalie accepts it

"It's lovely to meet you too." She smiles.

"So, I was going to get new makeup, do you guys want to join?" Caroline asks them

"That would be amazing." Rosalie says and they walk to the store.

"Red is definitely your colour." Caroline says as Rosalie tries on a red lipstick and then they get more of the makeup.

"So where did you move back from?"

"Phoenix, Arizona." Bonnie says and Rosalie smiles and nods going alone with it.

"Okay let's go pay for these." Caroline says and they do and then leave the store,

"Do you want to go get iced coffee?" Bonnie asks

"Sure." Rosalie says.

"So, you've never had iced coffee?" Caroline asks and Rosalie shakes her head

"No but this is amazing." She says excitedly with a smile.

"Well, it was really fun but my grams needs me and she wants to talk to Rosalie." Bonnie says and Caroline nods

"Okay, bye." She says and Bonnie and Rosalie walk back to Bonnie's car.

"Aw hiya, sweetheart." Shelia says to Rosalie and then hugs Bonnie

"Hi." She says

"Now, we have something to discuss."

"Phoenixes are a mythical creature that can die and be reborn from ash, they symbolise birth, death and rebirth. Their powers are Pyrokinesis, which means they have control over fire, they are immortal they also can chose when they stop ageing."

Sheila reads and then looks at Rosalie who is playing with her finger trying to focus

"Umm, what does that have to do with me?" She asks nervously.

"Because I did research and there's no spell that powerful to make you come back to life without different side effects and the ancestors would have been mad at the witch and not grant the witch to make you fall asleep. There was a immortality symbol above your coffin and the phoenix also symbolises it."

Rosalie nods and takes a deep breath,

"So, how was I able to do learn witchcraft?"

"You still can, you didn't unlock the powers of the phoenix until you resurrected."

"So, what can kill me? Like permanently."

"The Colt is a weapon that is known to permanently kill a phoenix. Phoenixes are most vulnerable to iron. Also there's a dark side to phoenixes, if you submit to any part of the darkness your will have new lethal powers, anything can trigger the darkness to take over and once it does...I pray for this town." Sheila says

"What kind of powers?"

"Summoning Hell fire, incinerate someone with a single touch and others that have not been written." She says

"Have you said to my brothers?"

"I have talked to Stefan and he is going to tell Damon." Sheila says.

Sheila gave Rosalie the book about the supernatural creatures and book marked the pages about Phoenixes and then Bonnie turned to her

"I should probably drive you home." Rosalie nods and she says bye to Sheila and then walks out the house.

"I'm home!" Rosalie calls out and then sees her brothers waiting on the coach for her

"Did you get nice clothes?" Damon asks

"Yeah, I also got makeup, shoes, skincare and I tried iced coffee." She says with a smile.

The brothers smile when they listen their sister talk about her day, before she died she never left her room and she listened to her brothers talk about their day so to them it was nice t hear about her day and see the smile they had missed so much.

"When we heard about the bird situation we decided to go to the store and get you some things." Damon says and then takes them out the bag and place them on the table

"These are new paints for your little art corner in your room, these are for something you can make called a scrapbook and this is a fidget cube to help you focus." He says and Rosalie hugs her brothers.

"Thank you, I love you both. I would love to talk with you guys but I need to do something important." She says standing up with a little bag in her hand

"Be safe." Her brothers says and she nods and then walks out the door.

Rosalie reaches the top of the hill and kneels down and begins to chant and then digs a little hole and plants rose seeds and puts the soil back and waters them.

The hill was the one she died on. She thought it was symbolic and then it allows herself to move on from her past and the bad things that happened and then begins to live her life as her true self.

She takes a deep breath and then turns around and goes back to her house.

The Salvatore children were complete, united at last the pain they all shared by losing each other was then filled with joy and happiness and love. They made promise that they would be there for each other no matter what. But aren't promises meant to be broken.
