《✔️Ambrosia (Edward Cullen) BOOK ONE》61- "The End"

From the darkness of the treeline progressed two people, hands locked and swinging calmly between them and they were truly and utterly beautiful. He was tall, toned with marvellous immaculate white milky skin and a stunning assortment of coppery coloured spikes and curls in a mirage atop his head, and she was short, curved in all the right places, her long caramel-bronze curls spinning like corkscrews down to the very bottom of her spine, creating a curtain around her adorable rounded face, dimples indented even as she did not speak. Her eyes were large, glittering like rubies under a framing of thick lashes- there had been no two better-suited people.

"Welcome back" a voice caught their attention and Ambrosia Hatton instinctively curled into the side of her boyfriend, shyly. It was something so undeniably her that it melted Edwards heart to see. No immortality or transition could ever take away the way that Ambrosia was, and that was the very best thing. Carlisle smiled, seeming just as pleased with the reaction as Edward was as Esme bounded away from his side instinctively.

When Esme tugged Ambrosia toward her, the newborn went willingly, restraining all ehr strength as she pulled her mother into a hug, not wishing to hurt her. It didn't matter that Esme hadn't birthed her or that she had known her little under a year- Esme was her mother and she always would be. The maternal joy and awe in Esme's eyes as she took Ambrosia's cheeks softly in her hands was an indication that she felt the very same way.

"Welcome, officially, to the family, Rosia" Esme breathed and the newborn's grin split brightly across her cheeks as she hugged her mother once more under the proud eyes of Carlisle and Edward- everything was finally how it should be.

"It's our turn now" a different voice grinned from afar when Ambrosia accepted a gentle hug from the doctor- Carlisle was most surprised to find how restrained she was but didn't comment as she turned to Rosalie and Emmett. Edward lingered behind her and they realised in awe that he wasn't doing it in fear that she would hurt someone- he was doing it protectively. Edward had seen her practically die in his arms and he refused to ever allow anything like that to happen again.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, hobbit" Emmett winked, ignoring Edward's eye roll as he mused the curls atop her head and Ambrosia laughed softly, pulling him into an unsuspecting hug. They were all family here and Emmett seemed overjoyed with the affection she offered, looping his arms around her waist to spin her around in a circle.

"You look beautiful" Rosalie commented as she too, hugged her new sister. It felt strangely as though she was being passed around like teddy bear in a kindergarten classroom- but she found herself enjoying each and every hug she was provided- these people were her forever family.

"Thank you" she breathed though found herself in awe of the beauty of Rosalie Hale- she was, of course, obvious to the fact that she and Rosalie were shockingly matching now. Of course, they looked absolutely nothing alike but their beauty was matched now.

"What did you do to your dress?" an outraged voice demanded and Ambrosia huffed out a little laugh as she turned to face a disgruntled Alice Cullen who was too busy staring at the bloodied emerald green dress she wore to pay attention to her newly rejuvenated features. "That's it... You need a new new wardrobe" Alice clapped.

"Alice, she pouted. Not another one" she giggled and the pixie vampire rolled her eyes, an indication of resignation as she pulled the equally weighted girl into a hug. Next was Jasper who grinned at her as their arms found a place. She didn't feel uncomfortable hugging these people, not anymore and she found herself so shocked by that. Once, she had been a girl sat in the corner of the library ignoring the world around her, considering the Cullens to be people far out of her league to even bear thinking about- and now, they were her siblings.

"I'm glad you're one of us" a vaguely familiar toned voice nodded and she smiled tightly at Fredrick who lingered in the treeline not too far away, voice sounding weirdly like his twin brothers now with her highly attuned ears, and she could see similarities in their faces that she previously hadn't noticed. It was strange, how distant she was from her boyfriends only blood relative though she figured that they had eternity now to rectify the discrepancy. He seemed so uncertain under her new red eyes, uncomfortable even but when she smiled, he provided a tight one in response.

"Ambrosia?" she stiffened, surprising them all before she tensely turned to the only one among them in the garnde that shared the same eye colour as she did. The newborn stared for a long time, eyes growing strangely watery as she blinked unnaturally at the beauty in front of her. This girl was much the same height as Ambrosia herself, having raven coloured straight locks that reached the middle of her back with her angelic features perfectly on show between the middle parting.

This was a face Ambrosia had never seen before, but someone that she knew. This was her friend... Her sire.

"Bree?" a simple nod later and both the girls expressed something the family had ever rarely seen from either of them- they squealed like teenage best friends reunited and crushed one another in a hug, bouncing on the spot in jubilation, eyes teary with moisture that would never drop. They were sisters, even though this was the first time they had calmly interacted. Edward felt his heart warm when he saw the way the two of them looked at one another.

Soul sisters.

The Cullen family felt so beautifully complete in the clearing in Oregon, in the shade of their large house as the sun glittered down upon the forest around them. And everything had been worth it. Kidnapping and death suddenly felt like a justifiable sacrifice because it had delivered her an eternity with her forever family.
