Ambrosia didn't see the forest that was right in front of her eyes as she stared intently at it. The thoughts swirling around her head achingly were enough to obscure her vision, once she had stood before that very window with Edwards arms around her- That was when everything had been so much simpler, and now she had until the sunset over the horizon to come up with her answer to the painful question. Was she ready?

"Ambrosia" it was perhaps the last voice she expected to hear on that day but as she turned around, she couldn't help but smile at the sight of Doctor Cullen standing in the doorway, his scarf perfectly in place, not a hair askew as he smiled, pale hands clasped in front of him. Just the sight of him was enough to tell her why they were leaving- This man was supposed to be thirty-five now and stood there in the gentle morning sunshine, he looked as though - given the right outfit- he could be the same age as she was.

"Carlisle" she returned, brow crunching slightly in confusion at the sight of him standing there, she didn't mean to be rude, his presence was welcoming in the chaos of her mind but she knew her time was running out. She felt as though there was a sand timer somewhere and with each moment, the moment of decision was inching closer. Around her- The Cullens were packing.

"Esme and I have something for you, something that might make this decision a lot easier" he hummed and her confusion only grew with each passing second, the sight of Esme popping up beside the doctor didn't do much to answer her unasked questions but the matriarch beamed happily, despite the situation as she wrapped an arm around Carlisle's waist, golden eyes sweeping over her son's bedroom in a simple movement.

"Ambrosia... Carlisle turned me into a vampire because- Because I jumped off of a cliff" the mother began and Ambrosia was startled, aware of the way Carlisle silently held his wife closer at the thought. "And I did that because I had... I'd lost my child. I am so happy now, with Carlisle, with this new life and I have children to make up for all that I lost in that moment, all those years ago. But... When I met you, Ambrosia, you were this beautiful sweet girl and I knew you would make all the difference to Edward. But you would make a difference to us too. I've never had... The chance to really raise anybody, to care for anybody but... you made me feel like a mother, a real mother with your soft smiles and your actual ability to eat" Esme laughed nervously, calmed by Carlisle's hand on her shoulder though Ambrosia- who was blushing now- still had no idea what was happening.

"We have been considering it for a long while...We even discussed it with a few people, with Miss Everett for a start. We wanted to make sure it was possible before we asked you, in case it got your hopes up." Carlisle informed, finishing for Esme."Ambrosia... We are asking if you would... if you'd allow us to adopt you. We are asking for you to officially join our family, the family that you are already apart of."

Ambrosia couldn't help herself as her eyes watered for the countless time that day, but for the first time- the tears were happy. Esme and Carlisle Cullen had just asked her the question she had waited twelve years to hear, and they were right... It did make her decision a whole lot easier because it meant that today was the day. She knew, somewhere in her mess of emotions that her orphanage siblings would be happy for her now, with this decision.

"Don't think that you have to say yes Ambrosia, but it is something we have been greatly considering- We were going to ask you after Bella's birthday, we didn't want to take away the joy of her celebration. But-- now is the time" Carlisle smiled softly at her. "Do you need a moment to think about it?"

"N-no" Ambrosia spoke perhaps slightly too determinedly and she swallowed the embarrassing emotion quickly, staring at the thick rug as she collected her thoughts. "I've--I've been waiting twelve years for... For someone to want me and every time I saw someone else find their family... I couldn't help but think that I would never find mine... And now... How could I say anything but yes? When you're offering to give me everything I could ever ask for" her voice shuddered and Esme looked like she would be crying if she could.

Holding her arms up for the human, Esme smiled shakingly and Ambrosia didn't think twice about making her way into the arms, feeling at home there. A long time ago, Ambrosia said goodbye to her parents, the parents she never got the chance to truly know but at that moment, as Esme and Carlisle held her in a supportive hug, she felt that she had a family again. She felt complete and she was assured of her decision. She had made more than one decision that day but it had been the right one.

"That means you have a decision for Edward too" Carlisle smiled at her, looking into the green eyes, as he assessed her caramel hair and sweet smile- he couldn't help but draw uncanny parallels between Esme Cullen and Ambrosia Hatton- They were destined to be mother and daughter. "And it means we have a few more days in Forks, it won't take long to get everything finalised."

"Thank you, both of you. So much... You don't know how much this all means to me" her voice shuddered and Esme smiled as if she'd won the lottery as she hugged her tightly.

"We do know Darling... Because it means a lot to us too" the matriarch beamed and Ambrosia breathed easily for the first time that day, she'd undoubtedly made the right decision...
