《✔️Ambrosia (Edward Cullen) BOOK ONE》33-"Birthday"

"Ambrosia, you stand here and Edward can stand next to you, here" Alice directed in a clipped tone and they did as she told them.
"Why does it matter where we stand?" Edward persisted, shuffling slightly on the spot, adjusting the shirt of his collar.
"Because I'm taking pictures" Alice informed as if it was obvious, whipping her camera out of her pocket. "Your first picture together, how cute" she hummed and Edward and Ambrosia frowned at one another.
"That's not our first picture together, Alice. Rosia has a polaroid camera" Edward beamed, distinctly remembering all the fun they had had on their 'photoshoot' in the meadow at her birthday picnic. Alice's jaw dropped for a moment before she started to bounce on the spot.
"That's even cuter! We have to turn them into a photo album, don't you worry, Rosia, I will help you! It will be perfect" Alice declared and she snapped more and more photos of the happy couple, secretly, Edward couldn't wait for Bella and Fred to get there so they could take over as the centre of attention for a while. Glancing down at his girlfriend, Edward couldn't help but smile, taking in her pretty curls that were pulled back from her eyes with a pristine white ribbon to match her white jumper dress.
"Bella!" Alice announced their arrival with a squeal and Ambrosia jumped in shock, her heart doing a little dance that made Emmett boom out a laugh beside her.
"Dang, she's so bloody cute" Emmett chuckled, shaking his head all the while and Ambrosia blushed nervously, looking at the small pink shoes on her feet with an intense gaze.
"You're not wrong" Edward shrugged, easily taking the brunette into his arms as the other human was passed around the rest of the family, all of whom wanted a chance to say Happy Birthday to her. It had been a long time since they were allowed to have a real birthday for anyone so Alice was unreasonably excitable, even going so far as to buy a cake despite there only being two people present who could eat it. "Are you staying tonight?"

"Depends, do you want me to?" she questioned softly and he smiled, the two of them always spent the night together- whether that was at the Cullen house or the orphanage.
"Of course I want you to" he responded. "Saves me driving."
"You love driving" she contradicted with raised eyebrows and he shrugged in agreement.
"True, I just wanted an excuse to keep you here." he beamed and kissed her hair once, turning to face the group that was congregating around the bottom of the stairs- he wasn't oblivious to the way Rosalie hovered around Ambrosia as if the girl's presence gave her comfort. Ambrosia, however, didn't notice- safe for smiling at the blonde vampire sweetly, meeting her eyes for just a fraction of a second.
"Sorry about all of this, we tried to reign Alice in" Carlisle smiled softly at Bella who liked happy- if not slightly uncomfortable with all the sudden attention.
"As if that were possible" Esme smiled, hugging her and Bella returned the affection easily. "Happy Birthday Bella."
"Thanks"
"Dating an older woman" Emmett nudged Fredrick "Hot" this made both the Masen brothers scoff simultaneously while Ambrosia merely giggled at Edward side, buttoning and unbuttoning his blazer randomly to distract herself from the happenings in the room, not that he minded, they all understood that Ambrosia was shy by nature and that was what she would always be. They'd grown to love that about her.
"You first Rosalie" Alice demanded and shoved the small box into the blonde vampire's hand. The girl sighed and handed it straight to the birthday girl.
"It's a necklace, Alice picked it out," she informed before crossing her arms once more. It was something that Ambrosia never could seem to understand about Rosalie- why she hated Bella so much even after all this time. On Ambrosia's own birthday, Rosalie had taken her shopping the day before and insisted on buying her new clothes before taking her for lunch, it was something Ambrosia enjoyed and therefore, she couldn't understand why the same courtesy wasn't extended to the older human.

"This one's from Emmett" Alice informed Bella, handing her a different box and the burly vampire was very obviously grinning to himself where he stood on the steps. Ambrosia shortly got bored of playing with Edwards buttons and wrapped her arms around his waist instead, placing her cheek against his lower chest as his hand danced circles along her arm. Ambrosia's usual social anxiety always seemed to simmer down when Edward was there to hold her.
"Already installed it in your truck" Emmett beamed. "Finally a decent sound system for that piece of cra-" he started and Bella shortly cut him off.
"Hey, don't hate the truck" she returned and he laughed.
"Better than your car, eh, Amby. You haven't even got one." Emmett beamed and she pouted at one.
"My blue bug" she hummed dreamily and Edward laughed along with his burly brother at the excitement in her eyes at the mention of it. All the others dreamed of supercars and there was Ambrosia, adoring her old car even though it had wheezed its last breath.
"Open Esme and Carlisle's" Alice demanded, bored of all the talking as she shoved the present into Bella's pale hands. The brunette smiled at the Cullen parents in slight surprise, even before opening it.
"Just a little something to brighten your day"
"You've been looking kind of pale lately" Esme giggled and the others laughed along, including Ambrosia who had a smile on her cherry red cheeks.
