Ambrosia felt her heart skip a beat when the song came on, a million thoughts of a girl in glittery wellies with her parents in the rain flashed before her sparkling green eyes and she smiled. Though an audible groan was heard from the majority of the Junior and senior class, the dance floor clearing hastily. A kiss on her cheek finally brought her back to where she was and she grinned as the face of Edward appeared beside her, hovering near where she sat.

"Hey, Beautiful. Dance with me?" he asked so softly, she was instantly hypnotised by his golden eyes and her hand slid into his softly. It didn't matter then that the dancefloor was almost empty, as he pulled her into position. Edward danced so effortlessly, it made Ambrosia feel like she was floating as they span around and her eyes were frozen, staring into those golden orbs. "I knew this would be the one to get you on the dancefloor" he beamed and she blinked in shock.

"You did this?"

"I can be quite persuasive" he shot her a boyish crooked smile that had her giggling as he twirled her around.

"You remembered" she hummed, gesturing into the air as if the song could be seen floating there. The vampire merely smiled sweetly at her.

"How could I forget your favourite song?"

"I love you," she said with finality and he blinked in shock for a second before grinning.

"I love you more, Ambrosia"

"I doubt that" she giggled and he smiled, letting silence fall between them for a long moment before he spoke again.

"Rosia...I didn't mean to listen in on your conversation and I don't mean to pry... I just overheard, I was trying to check and make sure you were okay.." he expressed awkwardly and she looked down at his shiny shoes that- after all this time- she knew so well.

"What do you want to ask Edward?" her voice was a void and it instantly made him feel bad about even bringing the conversation up.

"Rosia, look at me." he prompted and she did, green eyes glittering with sadness and his heart ached instantly at the sight of it. He felt terrible. "If you need anything... And I mean anything, all you have to do is ask. I love you, so much... You're the person I want to be with... Always."

"W-what are you saying?" she frowned and waited, making him smile.

"After graduation... Move in with me" he encouraged and she blinked in shock at the sudden change in direction.

"What?"

"I have been waiting a hundred years to find the person I want to spend eternity with. I have watched my family members fall in love, hoping that one day I would too... And now I have... With you. and I don't want to lose you Rosia, I'm not asking for you to turn, I'm not asking for you to marry me or love me forever in return. I'm just asking... Let me help you. My life means nothing without you in it." he implored, the two of them almost stopping in their dance across the floor as they spoke so intently. "Alice has seen it, Ambrosia. One day... One day you will be mine, and we will be together. At least, that is what the current future says. You won't have to worry about anything ever again, I promise you... I will give you everything" he spoke so gently that she was left blinking in shock, the next moment, she pushed herself up onto her tip-toes and pressed her lips to his passionately.

Shocked, Edward returned the kiss, leaning down slightly so she did not have to reach so far. When he pulled back, his eyes were blazing with a passionate fire.

"Let's get out of here?" he questioned and she blinked at him for a long time before nodding with a smile, allowing him to pull her gently from the dance floor and across the room to the doors out of the building. Bursting through the doors into the outside world, they were instantly pelted with hammering rain and she laughed in a squeal as it drowned her. Laughing loudly, Edward continued to pull her along across the parking lot.

"Come here" he chuckled and she frowned before suddenly squealing again when he swept her straight off of her feet, pulling her into a bridal carry as he ran- in human pace, which was much faster than her little legs could ever carry her, to his silver Volvo. Opening the passenger door, he slid her in easily and was in the driver's seat a second later. The girl laughed as he looked over at her, completely drenched with his hair curling. He laughed at her damp appearance in return before reaching over and pressing his lips to her. Not long after, Edward Cullen was driving easily away from the venue, down the roads at a speed that was most definitely illegal.

But Ambrosia wasn't at all scared as she leant back in her seat, her hand clasped in his against the wheel, her life had never been so gloriously perfect and the brilliant smile on her lips was enough to prove that...
